The next morning, Zhang Yu Han woke up with a terrible headache.
It was at this time that yesterday's event suddenly rushed to his mind. It was his and Li Qin Yao's wedding and while greeting the guests, he had probably drunk a little bit too much until the boys dragged him to the lounge where the group continued to drink.
The last thing he remembered was that his wife had called to ask his whereabouts, and he had instructed the hotel to send some food for his wife. He had wanted to escape from the boys and return to his suite where his wife was waiting for him. But then, Qi Zheng appeared and he was pulled back inside and he had drunk more.
And then what happened?
Zhang Yu Han tried to move around to get up and finally noticed that there was something wrong with his sleeping pose and the pillow under him. He sat up quickly and saw how his wife was sleeping while sitting on the bed as she leaned on the headboard.
It was then that Zhang Yu Han realized that he had slept on his wife's ŀȧps while hugging her. Because of his sleeping position, Li Qin Yao had no way to move and was forced to sleep in such an uncomfortable position.
Guilt surrounded him and Zhang Yu Han felt a lump forming in his throat as he watched how Li Qin Yao's head was tilted sideways as she continued to sleep.
He then ignored the uncomfortable feeling on his head and stomach to help his wife to sleep properly on the bed. Once he tucked her into bed, Zhang Yu Han searched for his phone and check at the time. A frown appeared on his forehead when he realized that it was almost dawn.
Zhang Yu Han turned to watch his sleeping wife for a while longer before he walked into the bathroom to take a shower. The smell of alcohol on him was too strong that he was starting to find it nauseating. Once he got out of the shower, Zhang Yu Han dried his hair and picked up the phone to dial the room service.
Usually, the room service would not entertain their customer at a time like this, but considering Zhang Yu Han's identity as their Director, the chef who came for mise-en-place for breakfast had to prioritize his order.
In less than ten minutes, someone rang the doorbell and he let the hotel attendant enter the room and deliver the dishes.
"Zhang Yu Han… You're awake?"
Zhang Yu Han turned around when he heard his wife's sleepy voice. He walked over to his wife and held her hands "Why did you wake up?"
"You weren't there by my side and I was worried," Li Qin Yao said. She glanced at the food on the table and looked at her husband. "How are you feeling? Quickly finish that bowl of congee before your stomach gets more uncomfortable."
Before he could say a word, his wife had already led him back towards the dining table. She then, picked up the bowl and placed it in front of him. Seeing her intense gaze, Zhang Yu Han then choose to obey and finished the bowl of congee under her watchful eyes. Zhang Yu Han avoided her gaze he placed the bowl back on the table. "Are you hungry? Let's have breakfast together. I've asked the room service to prepare something for you too."
"It's fine. I'm not that hungry."
Zhang Yu Han stared back at the bowl as he wondered if his wife was angry. It was their wedding day and he was supposed to return to their room and accompany her. But what did he do? He had returned to her side, drunk, and made her look after him.
"Sorry," Zhang Yu Han spoke softly. "I lost track of time when I was with the boys."
Li Qin Yao narrowed her eyes at her husband, as her eyes were a bit dry. "Wei Jun Hao said you were too happy to reject others toast."
"Hmm," Zhang Yu Han lowered his head. He saw the way she was squinting his eyes at him and knew that he was in deep trouble.
Meanwhile, Li Qin Yao was amazed as she looked at her husband's expression. There was remorse in his expression, but Li Qin Yao could not stop thinking how adorable he looked at this time with his lips slightly pouted.
"Do you remember what happened last night?"
Zhang Yu Han then told her what he told her his activity last night and stopped to the point where he could remember. "Did I… do something inappropriate?"
"You slept on my ŀȧps all night and hugged my waist," Li Qin Yao said.
She had realized last night that her husband had this habit to hug her tightly and refused to let go no matter how she tried to struggle. The last time he was drunk, he had held on her hand tightly and only let go with others' help.
"My waist is hurting after staying in that sitting position for too long." Li Qin Yao massaged at her waist and frowned. The two of them were not involved in bedroom warfare, but her waist hurt all the same.
"Sorry," He lowered his head guiltily again and looked up again. "I'll help to give you a massage, alright?"
Seeing the guilty look on his expression, a glint of mischievous thought flashed through her mind. She might as well use this opportunity to trick Zhang Yu Han into doing something he wouldn't do last night!
"You... really did not remember anything after your friend send you back to this room?" Li Qin Yao asked.
"I don't." He shook his head. When Li Qin Yao did not reply to him for a long time, Zhang Yu Han suddenly grew anxious. "Sorry. Wife, what... did I do?"
He knew that he did not have a terrible habit when he was drunk, but Zhang Yu Han also knew that last night, he was too drunk. At the thought that he might have done something terrible, Zhang Yu Han's expression turned pale.
"Last night, while you were sleeping on my ŀȧps and hugging my waist..."
"Hmm..." Zhang Yu Han nodded.
"You also rubbed your head on my body and told me that you're a cat before you meowed all night."
"Huh?" Zhang Yu Han stared at his wife with his mouth wide open. Somehow, he found that her words were hard to believe. But looking at her straight face, Zhang Yu Han did not think that he was telling a lie.
"If you want me to forgive you, then you try to meow for me again."
"No. I—" he tried to refuse, but was unable to say anything when he looked at her face. Zhang Yu Han then tightened his hand into a fist to gather his courage. He avoided her gaze and made a low sound, "M-meow?"
