Chapter 304 - I'll Be Sweet to You

When Zhang Yu Han woke up the next morning, his wife was still sleeping soundly at the side. He stayed to watch her sleep for a while and got up to wash up before he head over to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast.

Last night, as the two of them were heading out for dinner, they have made a quick stop to the convenience store to get some light snack they could use for breakfast. Fortunately, the villa was equipped with enough kitchen utensils and cutlery that they can use.

When he had gathered enough equipment, Zhang Yu Han cracked some eggs to make some scrambled eggs, some toasts, a glass of warm milk for his wife, and a cup of coffee for himself.

Li Qin Yao was someone who would wake up once the aroma of good food wafted in the air. He had thought that by the end of his preparation, his wife would show up in the kitchen like she usually does. However, once he had placed everything on the table, his wife was nowhere in sight.

Zhang Yu Han put the food covering he found in the kitchen and returned to the bedroom only to find that his wife was still asleep. He walked over to her and touched her forehead to check on her temperature. A breath of relief escaped him knowing that she was not having a fever. He then leaned towards her to kiss her cheek. "Wake up, sleepyhead."

Feeling his warm lips on her cheek, Li Qin Yao stirred in her sleep.

She stretched up her body and opened her eyes into a slit. "What happened?"

"Aren't you going to wake up?" Zhang Yu Han sat at the edge of the bed and pinched both her cheek. Somehow, he always thought that her cheek seemed more supple whenever she just woke up from sleep.

"No." Li Qin Yao rolled at another side. "Let me sleep a bit more, alright?"

Zhang Yu Han watched his wife and let out a low laugh. By now, he was getting used to seeing this scene. His wife was not a morning person. Unless if she had an important arrangement in the morning, she would prefer to sleep in. However, Zhang Yu Han knew of her weakness. His wife was easily coaxed with food.

"I have made some breakfast," Zhang Yu Han said. "Didn't you say that you wanted to eat scrambled eggs for breakfast? Come on. Go wash up and then we'll have breakfast."

"No," Li Qin Yao pressed her face to the pillow. "I'm too tired."

Zhang Yu Han watched his wife speechlessly. Last night, he had made sure that he did not tire her too much, knowing that she wanted to walk around the city. Anyway, he had glanced at her itinerary and had remembered the activities she planned by heart.

"Qin Yao, didn't you say you wanted to go for island hopping? We should go out early before the sun gets too hot," Zhang Yu Han coaxed.

Li Qin Yao turned her head to her husband again and looked at him with an aggrieved expression. "Hubby, my body hurts all over. Can we just stay here today? Just let me sleep for a few more hours."

Zhang Yu Han let out a helpless sigh. He watched her shut her eyes again and took off his slippers. Then, he slipped into the quilt, lifted her head, and placed it on his arms. Just like that, the couple went back to sleep in each others' embrace.

Noticing the time, Zhang Yu Han suddenly thought of the breakfast he had prepared earlier. He walked out to the kitchen to clean up the table and found that the table was empty and the sink was clean. He looked around and found no trace of food in the kitchen. It was as if a cat had entered the villa and eat everything on the table.

Just as these thoughts ran through his head, his wife appeared behind him in her bathrobe and she was drying her hair with a towel. She looked at him sheepishly and said, "I got hungry after I woke up and ate everything."

It turned out there was really a cat in the villa.

"Are you hungry? I'll make you something."

"It's fine," Zhang Yu Han smiled. "Let's go out and have our lunch. I thought that you have a list of cafes you would like to visit in the city."

Hearing his words, Li Qin Yao's eyes started to sparkle. After she ate the cold breakfast earlier, her stomach was still hungry.

The two of them went to one of the popular places among the locals to have lunch.

Of course, Li Qin Yao took a few photos of their food and posted them to her circle of friends. Surprisingly, it was Zhang Jing who first commented. With his keen eyes, Zhang Jing had noticed the braised ribs among the food displayed.

After lunch, the two of them decided to walk around in the street of the city and visited the historical monuments and a few attractions.

Seeing how she was enjoying the rich and creamy custard cake, Zhang Yu Han let out a helpless gaze. He extended his hand to rub some crumbs on her lips and said, "Let's cut down from eating sweet stuff. You have eaten too many sweets today." A frown appeared on his face as he tried to remember the thing she had eaten previously—toffee apples and bubble tea.

Hearing his suggestions, Li Qin Yao made a slight pout.

"Don't you have me?" he raised his brow teasingly. "I'll be sweet to you. Will that be enough?"

Li Qin Yao almost choked on her custard cake as she heard his words. She then stared at him as she wondered when did her husband know how to say these cheesy words?

After walking around in the city, the couple returned to the villa and walked around on the beach. Looking at the hot sun, Zhang Yu Han put a wide sun hat that they bought earlier in the city.

"It's not that hot," Li Qin Yao said with a giggle. "Anyway, I'm used to be exposed to the sun because of my work."

"Be obedient and put them on. I'll be worried if you got a heat stroke," Zhang Yu Han said. He watched the way she peeked at him under the large hat and suddenly bent down to cover her lips.

When he pulled away, Li Qin Yao quickly pulled the edge of the hat, and shyly covered her face.

"Qin Yao..."

"It's cold outside. Let's go back inside to get warm, hmm?"
