Chapter 314 - Return to Offices

As their honeymoon vacation has ended, both Li Qin Yao and Zhang Yu Han had to return to their offices and facing the pile of documents on their table. When Li Qin Yao walked into the office, she was glad upon knowing that the first phase of the construction was back to their schedule. However, seeing the documents that she had to read and sign, Li Qin Yao suddenly had the urge to cry.

At this time, Li Qin Yao could not help but think of how leisure managing the small cafe instead of looking after a big project as this construction site. However, Li Qin Yao loved the sense of accomplishment upon seeing the once abandoned site has changed and the buildings were getting taller.

Liang Sheng stayed by her side as they attended a meeting with the staff and ȧssisted her to understand what was going on when she was away. The meeting just before lunch and Li Qin Yao turned to Liang Sheng as he helped her to review a few documents.

"Did you just come back from Capital City?" Li Qin Yao asked upon seeing the slight black rim under her ȧssistant's eyes.

Liang Sheng nodded. "Yes. I went to see Chairman Li and gave my report on the construction."

Because Liang Sheng was the ȧssistant that her grandfather had chosen to help her, once every week, Liang Sheng would travel to Capital City and reported on the progress.

Although Chairman Li live far away from B City, he cared so much about this project. After all, it was the first project for QL Group which was outside of Capital City. With Liang Sheng, his ȧssistant's son by his granddaughter's side, Li Ren Xin was more at ease to let his granddaughter manage the development project.

"How was my grandfather?"

Liang Sheng smile. "Chairman Li and his wife were doing well. They heard that you and Director Zhang had come back from your honeymoon last Friday and was relieved that you have returned safely."

Li Qin Yao nodded. She turned her attention back at the documents on the table and made a reminder to herself to give her grandparents a call later. When she looked up again, she did not miss the hesitant look on Liang Sheng's face. "What is it?"

"No," Liang Sheng shook his head. "Just that… when I went to Li's residence, I found out that Miss Li Mu Chen is now living with your grandparents. I heard from Auntie Han that Miss Li wanted to spend more time to accompany elder madam," Liang Sheng said.

A frown appeared on his face as he recalled the encounter with Li Mu Chen. Previously, he had run into Li Mu Chen a few times and would always leave after nodding politely at her. However, this time, Liang Sheng could not help but feel a bit uneasy with the way Li Mu Chen would act around him.

He might be a bit paranoid, but he did not like the way Li Mu Chen seemed to be keeping her eyes on him when he was around the Li's residence.

As Li Qin Yao's ȧssistant, Liang Sheng knew that Li Mu Chen had previously tried to do to harm his boss and he was wary of Li Mu Chen.

"How did my grandparents react?" Li Qin Yao asked.

"I heard that President Li was against this decision," Liang Sheng said. "However, Chairman Li had thought that it would be best to let Miss Li Mu Chen live with them. Chairman Li intended to keep his eyes on her lest she'll make trouble."

Li Qin Yao tapped the pen in her hand against the table and heaved a long sigh. "If Chairman Li thinks it would be best, then just let it be."

The truth was that Li Qin Yao did not care much about what her cousin, Li Mu Chen wanted to do. As long as she stayed away from her and no longer cause trouble for her, Li Qin Yao would be happy. She had never understood Li Mu Chen's animosity towards her from the very beginning. Li Qin Yao could only think that Zhao Wei had probably said something just because she wanted her son to achieve the top position in QL Group.

"Yes," Liang Sheng nodded."Liang Sheng?" Li Qin Yao called.

"Hmm?"

"Accompany me to the site after lunch. I wanted to look at the progress."

Li Qin Yao dropped by at her cafe to have her lunch and distribute some souvenirs she bought for everyone during her honeymoon. While waiting for Liang Sheng to pick her up, Li Qin Yao spent a while to look at the sales report that Qing Kong had brought to her.

The phone on the table chimed and Li Qin Yao quickly swiped her finger on the screen upon seeing the caller ID. A smile curled on her lips.

"Qin Yao, what are you doing? Why are you not saying anything?" Zhang Yu Han's voice came from the speaker.

"I'm at the cafe, browsing through some documents," Li Qin Yao answered.

A soft sigh escaped him as Zhang Yu Han thought of how busy his wife would be at this time. The two of them had just returned from their honeymoon and Zhang Yu Han knew that Li Qin Yao would immediately busy herself with looking at the construction site progress. He had momentarily forgotten that she owned a cafe and would have to stop by to look at the reports as well.

"If it is too much, you should take a break and rest," Zhang Yu Han said. "Don't push yourself too hard. You can rely more on Liang Sheng and Qing Kong to look after your businesses."

Zhang Yu Han was aware of how important the two businesses were for his wife. One was a baby that she had started up from scratch and another one was something she enjoyed doing. Both were important to her.

"Un, I know. The two of them had done their best to ȧssist me. I'm just here to have my lunch while reviewing some reports," Li Qin Yao said.

"Did Mister Shen come along with you?"

Li Qin Yao looked up to see a tall man sat at a seat near the entrance. "Un. Don't worry. I'll be safe. Have you had your lunch?"

"Hmm... I accompanied Grandfather to lunch earlier," Zhang Yu Han said. "Qin Yao, I miss you."

The two of them were inseparable for the last two weeks. Zhang Yu Han thought that it was strange to suddenly return to his office without his wife by his side.

His words coupled with his deep voice made her heart skipped a beat. Li Qin Yao bit at her lips shyly as her eyes swept around the cafe before she lowered her gaze to avoid anyone from noticing her expression.

Pressing the phone tightly against her ear and face, she then whispered, "I miss you too." Her heart thumped louder as she looked around again. It was as if she had done something exciting and was afraid of getting caught. "I'll come back after visiting the site, alright?"
