Chapter 349 - Your Granddaughter-in-Law Ran Away

Zhang Yu Han had thought that his wife had stopped being upset with him and therefore had forgotten the incident.

It was not until he received a call from a certain someone that he learned that his wife had not forgotten the chocolate cake from last night.

Zhang Yu Han was in Zhang Jing's office, discussing something when his phone in the pocket vibrated. He took out his phone and was startled upon seeing the name on the caller ID.

It was his mother-in-law!

"Grandfather, excuse me. I have to take this call," Zhang Yu Han said. "It's my mother-in-law."

Zhang Yu Han turned around to the door after his grandfather had given him a nod to answer the phone call. 

His mother-in-law, Xu Yilan was not someone who would give him a call during office hours,s and naturally, he figured that there was something important for her to call him at a time like this.

He slid his finger on the screen and quickly pressed the phone to his ear. "Hello, mom?"

"Yu Han."

"En. It's me. What is it, mom?"

"Mom had a question for you," Xu Yilan asked. "Did you and Yao Yao had a fight?"

Xu Yilan's question immediately turned Zhang Yu Han froze on the spot. 

"No mom. We're fine," Zhang Yu Han answered. He was suddenly anxious as he had a foreboding. "What's wrong? Why do you suddenly ask me this?"

Xu Yilan hesitated for a while. "Well, Yao Yao came and stopped by my place for lunch and she said she was going to stay here for a few days. Mom tried to ask her what was wrong, but she did not want to say anything. Her expression does not seem right and mom can only guess that the two of you fought."

Zhang Yu Han was momentarily speechless. His hand started to rub at the space between his brow.

His wife ran back to her mother's house? 

His thought went back to what happened last night and Zhang Yu Han did not know whether to laugh or cry. 

"The two of you are a married couple and was expecting a child," Xu Yilan said. "If there is any problem, you should sit down together and discuss things."

"Mom, we did not fight," Zhang Yu Han said. He then tried to explain the situation to his mother-in-law. At the end of the conversation, Zhang Yu Han only asked his mother-in-law not to say anything to his wife and let her stayed the night at her place.

Once Zhang Yu Han ended the call with Xu Yilan, he immediately made another phone call before he returned to his grandfather's office. 

Zhang Jing saw the expression on his grandson's face and guessed that it was related to his mother-in-law's phone call. "What's wrong? Why did your mother-in-law call?" 

Zhang Yu Han lifted his head and let out a long sigh. "Grandfather, your granddaughter-in-law ran away."

The sky had turned dark and back at her mother's place,

Li Qin Yao spent her time with her mother to accompany her to watch some drama, but Li Qin Yao found that she was not able to focus. Her gaze would subconsciously turn to look at her phone and each time she glanced at the screen, Li Qin Yao would get more upset!

Her husband had not given her a call or text to coax her. Various thoughts went through her mind all at once and it only made her more upset.

At this time, Li Qin Yao was slowly regretting her decision to come over and stay with her mother. It seemed that her mind was not able to think straight as she was pregnant.

However, running away without saying anything was not something that she would use to do. She was not that inconsiderate and unreasonable to get upset just because he would not allow her to eat sweet treats.

However, after Zhang Yu Han had rejected her request to order those chocolate cake, Li Qin Yao was not able to suppress the sadness in her heart. It was a feeling that she could not control.

It wasn't as if she was going to eat the whole cake. She just wanted to take a bite… but her husband was so strict and fierce.

This unhappy feeling came to her and last night, while Zhang Yu Han was in the bathroom for a quick shower, she had shed a few tears thinking about the treats that she was not able to eat.

Xu Yilan, who sat beside her daughter, was silently watching her daughter. Although she knew that her daughter was being silly and she could not wait to say a few words to straighten her up, Xu Yilan decided not to say anything.

Anyway, she had promised her son-in-law that she was not going to scold her daughter and let the couple settle their matter on their own.

Seeing that her daughter was not focusing on the show, Xu Yilan stood up from the sofa.

"Mom, where are you going?"

"I'm going to sleep," Xu Yilan said. She pointed to the clock and said. "It's getting late and I still have to go to work tomorrow." She handed her daughter the remote control and continued, "You can stay here and watch TV. Just don't stay up for too long. Remember that you are now pregnant and you should be getting enough sleep."

"Un. I know," Li Qin Yao nodded. She watched as her mother went into the room and closed the door. Then, she took her phone and stared at the name on the screen for a long time. 

Seeing that her husband had not contacted her still, another wave of sadness came over. Li Qin Yao lowered her head and tears started to fall over. She wiped the tears with the back of her hand and stayed in the living room until she calmed down.

She then turned off the television and turned to her room. Her gaze stopped at the big bunny plush that her husband had won for her at the Arcade Hoops months ago.

Li Qin Yao walked over to the bunny and gave it a light punch. "Zhang Yu Han, you hateful man!"

Soon, Li Qin Yao fell asleep with the plush bunny in her embrace.

Half an hour after midnight, the door swung open and Zhang Yu Han stepped into the room. A helpless sigh escaped him as he watched his wife's sleeping figure...
