Chapter 373 - Our Li Xue is a Brave Girl

Li Qin Yao walked out of the nursery room and sighed as she recalled how her daughter had acted earlier. When she had shown up, Zhang Li Xue had cried as if she was wronged. Even when she was drinking her milk, her tears keep pouring out. But still, the little girl continued to drink her milk greedily.

Zhang Li Xue had soon fallen asleep with tears at the rim of her eyes and her lips slightly pouting. The little princess had gripped on her mother's shirt tightly as if she was afraid that once she let go, her mother will leave her again.

In the end, Li Qin Yao had to stay with the little girl for a long time until she had fallen into a deep sleep before she can leave the room.

"Is she asleep?" 

Li Qin Yao looked up from and saw her husband walked over to her with a glass of water for her. "Hmm," Li Qin Yao nodded. She took a sip from the water and looked at her husband again.

"If you find it hard to part with Li Xue, you can always continue to work from home," Zhang Yu Han said. "Or we can try something else."

Li Qin Yao sighed again. 

Although she too was anxious to leave her daughter, she knew that this was something that she had to do. Even if she was not planning to return to work, a short separation with her daughter was something that she had to practice while her baby was still young. Separating from her baby when she was older would be much difficult.

Li Qin Yao lay her head on her husband's ċhėst. "I can do this." She has to be brave and do this for both of them. 

Zhang Yu Han took the glass from her and put it on the table beside them. Then, he wrapped his arms around her body into a tight hug. Although he did not show much of what he was feeling in his expression, Zhang Yu Han too was worrying over the mother and daughter. 

He had seen how his wife had often checked at her phone to see if Zhang Yu Ying would send her an urgent message. He saw how his daughter had cried her heart out upon seeing her mother again. Looking at the two girls that he loved dearly acting like this, how can he not have a heartache?

"That was only our first try. Li Xue will be alright after a few more times," Li Qin Yao said. "Anyway, she is our daughter. Of course, our Li Xue is a brave girl."

Zhang Yu Han patted at his wife's back to coax her. He knew that the words she said were to persuade herself that their daughter will be alright. He then planted a kiss on her head and spoke, "Alright. You should go and rest. When Li Xue wakes up later, she will look for you again."

Li Qin Yao nodded weakly. It seemed that tomorrow, she will have to spend her time with the little princess and make up for leaving her briefly.

In Capital City…

Liang Sheng arrived at the airport around the afternoon and grabbed a cab to QL Headquarters. As he sat in the passenger's seat, Liang Sheng kept on looking at the side mirror to check whether he was being followed. However, he did not find anything unusual.

He did not know why, but after he had arrived at the airport, Liang Sheng had a feeling as if he was being watched.

Liang Sheng looked at her wristwatch and told the cab driver to drive faster.

Once he arrived at the QL Group Headquarter, Liang Sheng heaved a sigh of relief. After leaving his name to the receptionist, he then took the elevator and went to the top floor to find President Li.

Li Mu Chen was doing her nails when her phone rang. Initially, she had wanted to ignore the call. However, once she saw the name on the screen, Li Mu Chen changed her mind. She put the small bottle aside and sandwiched her phone between her ears and shoulder to answer the call.

"The person you were waiting for had shown up."

Li Mu Chen froze as she heard Shan Zi's voice on the other line. "Who?"

Shan Zi laughed. "Who else? The bespectacled man, Liang Sheng. Didn't you say that you wanted to know when he arrived in Capital City? My man reported that he had landed a few minutes ago and had gone straight to QL Group Headquarters."

Her eyes widened upon hearing this good news. Li Mu Chen had been waiting for this news for months, but after her last encounter with Liang Sheng at the headquarter, she had thought that the bespectacled man had decided to stop coming to Capital City. It seemed that he had not visited Capital City for months. 

As the thought came to her mind, a wicked smile curled on her lips. 

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Shan Zi spoked after a long silence between them. " Li Mu Chen, don't tell me that you have changed your mind?" 

"Of course not," Li Mu Chen snapped. "Since the person I was waiting for had shown up, of course, I have to go through with my plan. Shan Zi," her tone grew soft and flirtatious. "Are you willing to help me?"

Shan Zi laughed happily. "Of course. Aren't we're friends? What kind of friend would I be if I did not offer my help? Just tell me what do you need me to do."

A flicker of light appeared in Li Mu Chen's eyes as she heard his words. After hanging around with Shan Zi for a while, Li Mu Chen knew that he was not someone who would offer his help if he knew that he won't be getting anything. 

However, when she had mentioned her plan to him, Shan Zi had offered his help willingly. Li Mu Chen did not know what was Shan Zi thinking or dared to ask him what was on his mind, but she knew that the man had his own agenda. Li Mu Chen knew that by helping her, Shan Zi was going to get something in return.

Anyway, as long as his agenda did not stop her from getting her revenge, Li Mu Chen decided not to care about it. 

"Then, just continue as what we had planned before," Li Mu Chen said. "Keep your eyes on Liang Sheng. I will meet up with you later."
