Li Qin Yao turned around when she heard a knocking sound from the door. Seconds later, the door was pushed open and Qi Zheng walked into the ward with a smile.
"Everyone has left?" Qi Zheng said as he looked around the room.
"Hmm," Li Qin Yao nodded at him.
Everyone has left the hospital once the sky turned dark and the visiting hours ended.
Though Zhang Li Xue had wanted to stay with her mother, she can only listen to the ȧduŀts and leave. Zhang Yu Ying only managed to coax the little girl to go back with her after she had promised the little girl that she can come again the next day.
Qi Zheng walked over to the bed and looked at the monitor for a few seconds.
A sigh escaped him upon seeing that there was no change in his friend's condition. The data showed that everything was alright. Zhang Yu Han was supposed to wake up a few days ago. However, the person was still lying on the bed, unresponsive.
These days, even his grandfather, Qi Xi Feng had threatened to beat him if Zhang Yu Han did not wake up. Although he had told the old man that these were not something that he can control, the old man had refused to listen to him.
It was not a secret that his grandfather loved Zhang Yu Han. After all, Zhang Yu Han would remind his grandfather to his deceased sister.
Qi Zheng turned around and paused when he saw that Li Qin Yao was staring at her husband with worry.
The woman too was a patient and she was supposed to be in her bed and rest. However, she was persistent to look after her husband. She had told everyone that she would continue to worry if she was unable to see her husband. In the end, the hospital had set up another bed for her so that she did not have to go back and forth to her room.
After watching how she had looked after Zhang Yu Han these past few days, Qi Zheng was suddenly envious of his friend. He was lucky to have such a good wife beside him. Why won't he wake up and stop making his wife worry too much?
Qi Zheng let out a heavy sigh as these thought went to his mind. He turned to Li Qin Yao and coughed dryly. "How are you?"
Li Qin Yao snapped out of her thought and forced a smile. "Doctor Qiao said that I should be able to be discharged in a few days."
"That's good." Qi Zheng nodded.
If Doctor Qiao had thought that she should be able to leave the hospital, then her body's condition should be good enough. At least their family had fewer people to worry about.
"Don't worry," Qi Zheng said after a while. "Zhang Yu Han will wake up."
Li Qin Yao only replied to him with a smile. Everyone had said the same thing to her. However, until her husband opened his eyes, Li Qin Yao did not think that she can be at ease.
"Sorry." Qi Zheng lowered his gaze as he put his hands in his lab coat pocket. "I was the one who was supposed to accompany Qi Ming Wei on that trip."
"It was not your fault. No one knew that they would happen to meet that person at the airport. No one could tell that the accident was going to happen."
Hearing her words, Qi Zheng suddenly found that he was unable to say anything else.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Qi Zheng finally walked over to the door. He stopped as he reached the door and turned around. "If there is anything you need, just call me anytime. I will be around the hospital."
"Thank you." She watched Qi Zheng left the room and the smile on her face immediately disappeared.
Li Qin Yao took a deep breath and walked over to the bed. Her gaze softened as she stared at her husband. She stretched her hand and touched at his cheek. Her brow furrowed as she looked at his thin face. Slowly, she lowered her head and carefully laid her head on his ċhėst.
Once she heard the sound of his heart, Li Qin Yao shut her eyes and sighed.
This has always been her favorite spot to lay her head.
These days, listening to this sound would give her comfort. She had always loved listening to his voice while leaning on his ċhėst. She loved the vibration of his voice as he talked and at this time, she wished that she can hear his deep voice that she had fallen in love with the first time she heard it.
It has been five days since the accident and he still did not show any sign that he was going to wake up anytime soon. For both her daughter and the baby in her stomach, she had to be strong. If she continued to cry, the little princess would notice and she would be sad and worry. She needed to stabilize her emotion or else lest something would happen to her baby.
However, no matter how much she had reminded herself to be strong, sometimes, when she was alone with just her husband in the room, Li Qin Yao was unable to stop herself from shedding her tears.
She did not realize that she had become so reliant on Zhang Yu Han. It seemed that her husband had loved and pampered her too much that she could not imagine living her life without him.
"Zhang Yu Han." Li Qin Yao took a deep breath. "Please wake up. You have been sleeping for five days. Don't you… miss me? I miss you so much."
The silence continued in the room. The only thing that can be heard was the beeping sound from the machine.
"Didn't you said you were looking forward to the surprise that I have prepared for you? Don't you wish to know what it is? Hurry and wake up, alright?" She continued to coax him. "I promise you that you will love this surprise."
She squeezed her eyes shut to prevent her tears from flowing. She was suddenly reminded of the first time she had met him at the sushi restaurant.
Zhang Yu Han had entered her life slowly and had occupied a large part of her heart and took a root there.
Their love life had gone smoothly from the very beginning. She had always thought of him as her guardian angel. He would always be there whenever she needed someone. Though she would sometimes act unreasonably, he was very patient towards her.
He had become her world.
Li Qin Yao did not think that she will be able to meet someone as good as him again.
"Zhang Yu Han, I really cannot do without you."
She was really not strong enough to face the world without him at the moment. If he continued to be in this condition for a long time, she would lose it.
A sob escaped her when he did not respond. Li Qin Yao sniffled as she continued to lay on his ċhėst and cried silently. At this moment her mind filled with all sorts of crazy thoughts and these thoughts were making her ċhėst hurt.
As seconds passed by, she was no longer able to stop her tears. Once a drop had fallen, it was like a broken dam.
"Qin Yao."
A hoarse voice suddenly appeared.
"Please… don't cry."
