After staying for half a month in the hospital, Zhang Yu Han was finally allowed to leave and continue to recover at home. On the day that he left, his mother and his mother-in-law visited a temple to pray for their family safety. The accident and Zhang Yu Han's coma for five days scared everyone and they did not want something inauspicious to come across to their family again.
During the period where Zhang Yu Han had to stay in the hospital, it was said that his grandfather had not taken one bite at his favorite meat dishes. To pray for his grandson's safety, Zhang Jing diligently ate his vegetables.
Zhang Li Xue was the happiest to see that her parents had left the hospital. She was getting stickier to her parents and had refused to leave their sight for more than a minute. For a week, the little girl had slept between her parents at night.
It seemed that after being separated from her parents for a long time, Zhang Li Xue was afraid that her parents would leave her side again.
Of course, Zhang Yu Han had started to notice the change in his daughter. For example, the little girl was not as come closer to them whenever the couple was in a conversation.
Previously, her daughter was someone who would come over and stuck to her mother whenever she saw them alone. Then, while hugging her mother, she would give her father a look as if telling him that her mother was hers.
When he told his wife his thought, Li Qin Yao had laughed and told him what her daughter had said when her husband was still in a coma.
Zhang Yu Han was stunned after his wife had repeated what their daughter had said.
Then, at night, he accompanied his daughter in her playroom to draw and the little girl did not make any sound to complain when he rained his kisses on her cheek.
Zhang Li Xue laughed happily as she showed her father her drawing. She looked at the cast on her father's legs and frowned.
The injury on Zhang Yu Han's body had mostly healed but his legs would take longer to heal. Because his right leg was fractured, he was unable to walk and had to rely on crutches.
"Daddy, you cannot do slam dunk?" Images of how her father would jump and slam dunk appeared on the little girl's mind and she wondered when will her father be able to jump up high again.
"Wait until my legs are better. Then, I will do it again."
The little girl's eyes brightened up. "Then you have to teach me."
Zhang Yu Han agreed readily. At this time, Li Qin Yao's voice was heard, calling them to have dinner together. Zhang Li Xue stood up and dashed out of the playroom to find her mother.
When Zhang Yu Han came out, all sorts of dishes were served on the table. He sat down with his wife's help and the family of three began to eat.
Li Qin Yao managed to eat a quarter of her rice before she ran over to the bathroom.
Zhang Yu Han followed his wife with his eyes and tensed. This scene was very familiar to him ever since he left the hospital. Zhang Yu Han had wanted to follow after his wife and helped her, but his injury was preventing him to move around.
Once Li Qin Yao returned to the dining table, she immediately saw the worried look on her husband's face. "I'm alright." She gave him a reassuring smile. "I'll just try to eat slower."
Fortunately, she did not leave the dining table and had finished her meal.
Zhang Yu Han browsed through some work documents on his ŀȧptop as his wife coaxed the little princess to sleep in her room. He looked up when Li Qin Yao returned to the bedroom and frowned as he watched her went straight to the bathroom.
He could hear the sound of her retching from the outside and knew that she was vomiting what she ate for dinner. Zhang Yu Han stood up silently and walked over to the bathroom and waited for her.
Li Qin Yao was surprised when she suddenly felt her husband's strong arms around her body just as she stepped out of the bathroom. She looked up and saw the distressed look on her face.
"You're growing thinner," Zhang Yu Han spoke.
He was suddenly reminded of her pregnancy with Zhang Li Xue. Back then, she did not have to go through her pregnancy reaction as he had gone through the frequent visit to the bathroom and weight gain on her first trimester.
But as he continued to watch his wife the past few days, Zhang Yu Han realized that her reaction was much stronger than his. The last time, he can still eat a lot after vomiting. But this time, his wife would vomit almost everything that she had eaten.
Instead of gaining weight like other pregnant woman, his wife was losing weight instead.
"I wish I can go through this morning sickness for you again," Zhang Yu Han muttered. Seeing how his wife continuously lost her weight instead of gaining them, Zhang Yu Han was upset.
Li Qin Yao smiled as she heard his words. She cupped her hands on his face and kissed the corner of his jaw. "It's fine."
"How can it be fine?"
She watched as his brow furrowed deeper and reached her hand to smooth the crease with her finger. "I didn't know that morning sickness would be this bad. Zhang Yu Han, you have it hard for you the last time I was pregnant with Li Xue. But still, you have to coax me with my childish behavior."
How can she forget that she had gone back to her mother's place just because her husband would not let her eat too many sweets? Now that she recalled the time, Li Qin Yao thought that she was too laughable, acting like a child. Fortunately, her husband was willing to spoil her and did not mind her attitude.
"Should I ask Xiao Ye to make a trip to Capital City and find Chef Qin?" Zhang Yu Han suggested.
At this time, he just wanted to see his wife eat a little bit more without throwing out everything she had eaten. Even if she wanted to eat Qin Zhan's pastries every day, he would not prevent her.
"No. I don't have an appetite to eat sweets. Just thinking about sweets makes me want to throw up again." Li Qin Yao lowered her gaze. Her recent pregnancy made her dislike everything that she loved to eat in the past. Her pregnancy reaction this time was very different.
"Then, what do you want to eat? I'll ask someone to go and buy it for you."
A thought crossed her mind, but when she saw his cast on his leg, Li Qin Yao swallowed and did not dare to speak.
"Tell me." He tried to coax. "Hmm?"
Looking at his worried face, Li Qin Yao's heart started to waver. The craving suddenly grew stronger to the point that she did not know what to do about it. "I want to eat the porridge that you cook for me."
Zhang Yu Han tilted his head. "Just that?"
"Un. Just that. But," her words were left unfinished as Li Qin Yao looked at his leg.
"It's fine. I'll go and cook." He smiled. "I might not able to move so much, so you have to help me."
A while later, the husband and wife went back to the kitchen and Li Qin Yao watched as her husband stood in front of the stove as he supported his weight on the crutches.
"Zhang Yu Han."
"Hmm?" He looked up from the stove.
"My pregnancy this time is very different than the last time I was pregnant with Li Xue. Do you think that perhaps this time, we'll have a boy?"
