Chapter 443 - Side Story 6: Meeting the Song's Family

Han Yue Xiu glanced at the person in the driver seat and could not help to be anxious. After her talk with her best friend, Li Qin Yao that afternoon, Han Yue Xiu began to think that she was too reckless to agree to Song Yi's request.

They haven't been together for too long, and she was going to meet his parents soon.

The thought of what might happen during this meeting was making her stress.

Her background and Song Yi were different. She came from an average family while Song Yi was someone in high status. Of course, Han Yue Xiu was afraid that she was not able to enter the Song's residence before she will be kicked out.

Then another scene played out in her mind and this time, Song Yi's mother offered to give her a blank check if she agreed to leave her son.

Anyway, Han Yue Xiu did not know what she was going to do if any of those scenes happened later on. As they were approaching the Song's residence, Han Yue Xiu's anxiousness had reached the top.

"Are you worried?"

Han Yue Xiu lifted her head when she heard Song Yi's voice. It was then that she realized that the vehicle had stopped and they were now at the Song's residence.

Song Yi's lips curled into a small smile. Han Yue Xiu was worried about meeting his parents, then it should mean that she cared a little about him, right?

"I'm fine," Han Yue Xiu took a deep breath as she readied herself. She decided to just go with the flow and see what will happen next. If his parents did not accept her, then be it.

Anyway, her relationship with Song Yi had just started. If it was going to end, then it would be better for it to end before she had fallen further. At least she would not have to suffer too much when she was heartbroken.

Seeing that Han Yue Xiu had regained her spirit, the smile on Song Yi's lips widened. Of course, if he knew what was really on his girlfriend's mind, he would probably vomit some blood.

Even if his parents wanted to break them up, he would not agree. Song Yi was already planning to ask his grandparents' help. His grandmother doted on him so much that she would not let him suffer any grievance, and his grandfather was someone who would choose to listen to his wife.

He had his backup, and Song Yi was not afraid of anyone.

Song Yi helped Han Yue Xiu off the car before he wrapped his arms around her waist and led her towards the door. Once the door opened, an auntie greeted them. Song Yi passed a few bags of gifts for everyone before he led Han Yue Xiu to another room.

As they entered the room, Han Yue Xiu took a deep breath and looked up. The room was too quiet. There were ten pairs of eyes were looking back at her, causing Han Yue Xiu to take a step back. Before she could take another step back, Song Yi had tightened his grip around her waist to prevent her from running away.

"Please don't frighten my girlfriend," Song Yi spoke with a helpless sigh.

Immediately, everyone in the room started to look away under Song Yi's warning gaze.

Sensing the strange atmosphere, Han Yue Xiu tugged at Song Yi's sleeve and blinked her eyes adorably at him.

"Everyone, this is Han Yue Xiu, my girlfriend," Song Yi introduced. He turned to Han Yue Xiu and smiled. His arms around her waist tightened. He had wanted to announce her as his girlfriend for a long time, and now that he got the chance to introduce her to his family, Song Yi felt his heart soar. The smile on his face could not disappear.

At this time, Grandmother Song stood up and walked over to the couple.

"Grandmother," Song Yi greeted.

The old lady glanced at her grandson and saw the happy smile on his grandson's face.

"Grandmother, hello," Han Yue Xiu followed.

"You must be Han Yue Xiu," Grandmother Han stretched both hands to hold Han Yue Xiu's. "Grandmother has heard a lot about you from Song Yi." Her eyes were looking at the pretty girl from head to toe as if examining her.

Han Yue Xiu glanced at Song Yi and raised a brow. "What did he say about me?"

"All the good stuff. You don't have to worry." Grandmother laughed.

Of course, she could not tell Han Yue Xiu that the first time she heard about her, Song Yi was threatening them that he was planning not to continue the family line if he was forced to marry someone he did not love.

Knowing her grandson's stubbornness, Grandmother Song could only give in. The result was that his engagement with the Fang's daughter was dissolved and Song Yi promised that he was going to bring back home the girl that he liked.

As Grandmother Song was very curious about the girl, she had asked her husband to sent someone to investigate Han Yue Xiu.

Once she heard that Han Yue Xiu had once rejected her grandson, Grandmother Song was very surprised. She was even more surprised upon hearing that her grandson had sold his company and was thinking of starting over somewhere else just because he wanted to be with this girl.

After listening to the reports on Han Yue Xiu's background, Grandmother Song thought that Han Yue Xiu was an interesting person.

The Song family did not have to rely on marriage connection to rise. As long as Song Yi was willing to get married, Grandmother Song did not mind about her the girl's background. As long as this girl was not trying to take advantage of her grandson or the family, Grandmother Song would agree.

"Come and sit beside me. We have a lot to talk about," Grandmother Han spoke as she tugged at the girl's hand. However, she soon noticed her grandson's displeased expression and the way his hand was resting on the girl's waist.

There was no one for him to compete with, but her grandson's sign of possessiveness was apparent.

Seeing that Grandmother Song was treating the girl warmly, the others began to greet Han Yue Xiu.

Once Han Yue Xiu was introduced to Song Yi's grandfather, parents, uncles, aunties, and siblings in the room, she sat down beside Song Yi and began to take questions from Song Yi's family members. Of course, Song Yi's grandmother and mother took turns asking her various questions to get to know Han Yue Xiu better.

As the conversation goes on, Han Yue Xiu began to notice that something does not seem right. The scenes where Song Yi's elders were going to chase her out did not happen, but instead, she was greeted by their warm welcome.

Facing this situation, she was suddenly scared. Are they going too fast?

...

Han Yue Xiu looked out the window as Song Yi drove her back to Zhang's hotel. As the meeting was over, Han Yue Xiu was more at ease.

Song Yi glanced at the person beside him when he noticed that he was being watched. He saw the smile on her face and was confused. "What?"

"Song Yi, why do I feel that I've been tricked into coming over to see your family today?"

There was a brief silence on his part. "What are you talking about? If you're that easy to trick, then wouldn't you agreed to give me a chance a long time ago?"

Han Yue Xiu pondered over his words and nodded. "That's true."

Song Yi parked his vehicle at the side of the hotel building and turned to his girlfriend. "Don't think too much. You should go up and take a rest. We have a flight to catch tomorrow."

"Oh," Han Yue Xiu nodded. She gathered her stuff and turned to open the door.

"Han Yue Xiu."

"Huh?" As soon as she turned to Song Yi, his lips met hers in a fleeting kiss.

Song Yi reached to ċȧrėss her cheek and smiled. "Good night."
