For anyone else, that name might simply have been seen as a generic name, but Noah had done a lot of research on Lucifer when he received the system, so even though for other people that name was nothing special, for him it was.
Noah knew that Lucifer once had a woman who accompanied him. In fact, when God decided to create humanity, he created two beings of clay: a man, who was called Adam, and a woman, who was called Lilith.
However, Adam was extremely macho and domineering, believing that he was the owner of Lilith just because he was a man, while Lilith, who had also been raised from clay as well as her companion, started to dislike what was happening to her.
God said that, being a woman, Lilith should serve Adam as practically a servant, but she felt that this was wrong since the two were equal, having arisen in the same way. She didn't like being forced to be down during sex; she didn't like having to do everything that Adam said; she wanted to be treated completely equally. Unfortunately for Lilith, God and Adam didn't agree with this, wanting her to be submissive and just obey her husband.
Feeling wronged, Lilith, who never wanted to be superior to anyone, just wanting to have equal rights to Adam, and outraged at being treated as an inferior being without reason, decided to run away.
Lilith fled a long distance until she came close to a place on earth called the Red Sea. There, three angels of god came to fetch her so that she would return to serve Adam, but she refused.
According to the story Noah read, after she refused to return with the three angels, Lucifer came and held out his hand to her. Unlike God and Adam who saw her only as an inferior object, Lucifer never looked at her with a look of that nature. He saw her as an equal, which instantly won the woman's heart.
Adam, after being alone for a long time, entered into a deep dream where God plucked one of his ribs and used it to create Eve, who, as she was created using one of Adam's parts, had gratitude toward him and accepted the idea of being submissive in their relationship.
Unfortunately for Noah, he couldn't find any more about Lilith than that. As hundreds of years had passed since humanity believed in the Catholic God, much information was lost, including the rest of Lilith's story.
When the little snake told Noah that her name was Lilith, Noah couldn't help but relate her to Lilith from the story he read, the first woman in the world who was named Lilith. This woman had apparently created a strong connection with Lucifer, and now Noah, the descendant of Lucifer, found a strange serpent with demonic energy, feeling a strong connection for her, and discovered that her name was also Lilith.
Another thing about this that caught Noah's attention was that the snake was a newborn. She said she was born a few months ago, which somewhat messed up Noah's theory of what was going on. If the snake were the Lilith from Lucifer's story, she would have to be thousands of years old, but this little snake was only a few months old...
'What's going on?' the snake asked him when she noticed his pensive expression.
'Perhaps you are a descendant?' Noah suggested to her, who was looking at him with a curious look, not understanding what Noah meant by that.
"Okay, you said you wanted a monster for your little sister. Do you have something in mind?" The attendant who had just accepted the fact that the snake she adored had been taken by someone else, her heart hurting a little as if she were a betrayed woman, sighed and looked at Noah as she asked.
"I only have $500 left. Are there any other monsters in that price range?" Noah asked, curious and concerned. He came to this store to get a gift for his little sister, but he had already spent half of his money buying the snake. It would be very sad if he didn't have enough money to buy a gift for Maggy because he already spent his money.
"Hmm... At $500 I believe you could only buy a little mouse with bright eyes. They are great for gifts, especially for children, as they are very docile. The chance that the mouse and your sister will get along, making the contract possible, is very high," the attendant said with a professional smile to Noah, returning to the posture she was trained to have in the workplace.
"Great! I've seen the bright-eyed mice and I believe my sister will love one. A contract comes with the purchase, right?" Noah asked, remembering the internet publication he read which said that almost every monster store gave a free contract when buying a monster. If the contract failed, the customer would have to buy another contract from the store.
This was a way for the store to profit not only from the sale of monsters, but also from the sale of contracts. Since making the contract itself was not very difficult, but as specific knowledge was needed, normal people could not do it, which led to a high price and consequently a large profit margin for sellers.
But there was something that Noah wanted to test. The black window with letters written in fire was still floating in the corner of his vision, asking if he wanted to make a contract with Lilith. He still hadn't accepted it because he wanted to see the contract provided by the store first.
If what he was thinking of doing was indeed accurate, not only could he get money from the Fortresses, he could make money from these contracts as well.
When he realized that buying low-ranking monsters was so expensive, Noah realized that the need to make money was even greater now. Even when he reached Rank D, he still wouldn't make enough money for everything he wanted to do, so he needed something else to generate money besides Fortresses since he would probably only make enough money in the Fortresses to pay off his debts when he reached Rank C, where the Blessed went on to earn at least $5,000 per Fortress.
To think that a Blessed person who went to 3 Fortresses a week earned $60,000 a month in the past made Noah jealous, but now that he knew it was only a matter of time before he reached Rank C, or even higher, that object of envy was now just becoming an attainable goal.
It didn't take long for the girl to complete all the documentation of the monsters for him. Apparently, the government had imposed various laws and restrictions on monsters in the city, as monsters inside the city were still aggressive, people were afraid that they would kill everyone if they were released without contract and supervision.
Thinking about this point, Noah remembered that there were also humanoid monsters. 'Goblins, orcs, elves... Is it also possible to sign contracts with these monsters? Can I sign a system contract with these monsters too? How would my Exp work if a contract monster of mine killed another monster in a Fortress? Would I get all of the Exp? Would we share the Exp? Could the monster level up?'
Thinking about so many issues, Noah started to get a headache.
Because of the characteristic he developed of always wanting to control everything that was happening, and to control everything, he always needed to have as much information as possible, whenever he was faced with a difficult question, or something confusing, his brain had already started to generate several questions for him to develop an answer and obtain the knowledge necessary to take control of every opportunity.
'I definitely need to control myself a little bit concerning this...' Noah thought with a sigh, as he played with the beautiful black snake that was wrapped around his wrist like a bracelet, now completely immobile, thinking about what the future had waiting for them and what would change by her being in his life from now on.
