"At this point Shadow S should still be on his way to their base. Unfortunately, my fire which was letting me track him went out after a few kilometers, so I couldn't figure out where he was going. We need to use the time where his employer doesn't know yet what happened to our advantage.
Since he sent the best assassin in town to try to get rid of you, the probability that he was too confident in Shadow S's success is very high, which probably led him not to fortify his own base defenses.
If we leave to get revenge tomorrow, he would probably have already called the other Blessed Ones under his employment back to protect himself, which will make my job very difficult," Noah explained what he was thinking.
Hearing what Noah said, the others couldn't disagree. Unfortunately, if they didn't act today, it would become even more difficult to act again. Even though they still felt bad knowing that Noah wanted to enter the enemy's base alone, they couldn't do anything to stop it. After all, among all his contacts, probably no one could fight Shadow S and still get out alive.
"Very well Noah, we will listen to your orders. What do you need?" Carlos' father asked in a serious tone.
Hearing this, Noah cracked a small smirk as he said it in a confident tone. "To deal with him? Just the address."
---
Carlos and Maggy were very insistent that they could help Noah with these people, but Noah would not allow that at all. As much as he trusted their strength, the best way to deal with the enemy would be to deal as much damage as possible, and to do this sort of thing Noah had to go it alone.
Wearing fire armor as he galloped at high speed on the black unicorn's back, Noah arrived at the address Carlos' father had passed to him. From the outside, this place looked just like an office building used by a large corporation, but after hearing the details, Noah knew there were three more underground floors filled with military equipment and many Blessed, heavily armed for any unforeseen circumstances.
Obviously not all the Blessed Ones were left there, just the ones that were scheduled for that day, which maybe wasn't equivalent to even 50% of the total. If Noah came the next day, most likely all the hired Blessed would arrive, and maybe even other mercenaries would be hired.
"Hehe, as much as using stealth might be more practical, making hell on earth will be a lot more fun," Noah said in a low voice as he commanded the unicorn to move forward.
Even though the big glass doors were closed, the unicorn didn't care a bit. As a Rank C monster, hardly any glass could hold him, not even armored glass.
*Claaang*
A great crash of glass breaking sounded through the lobby of the building, alerting everyone who was there. The Blessed Ones who were awake quickly went to the entrance of the building, while the Blessed Ones who were sleeping got up, without thinking twice as they equipped their own gear.
Noah rode through the luxurious building as if he were on a large riding field. Where the unicorn passed, great trails of fire appeared, burning all the furniture as he passed.
When a Blessed appeared pointing a gun at him, Noah quickly threw a [Fire Ball] at him and turned that person into more fuel for himself so that he could to continue burning the place.
"Stop! Do you know whose building this is?" A security chief aimed an arrow at Noah as he yelled angrily.
"From what I've heard, it must be some manwhore's building. Are you by any chance the whores?" Noah asked sincerely. "I came here to save you, don't worry!" He acted like he was a noble hero, but while he was saying such noble words, the scene of the entire building on fire and several burning corpses all around said the total opposite.
"You... you're in Mr Fontinelli's building! If you leave now, we'll just forget what happened and pretend it was just a mistake out of respect for your strength, but if you keep acting so wanton, don't blame us for being impolite and mounting your head on the wall as a decoration." The head of security said to Noah as he gritted his teeth.
This man was mentally begging this demon in front of him to turn around and walk away so that Mr Fontinelli could avenge the men who died later, because he knew if this demon was to remain loose around the building until a Blessed Rank C arrived no one could control this person. Even more, he was afraid after recognizing the corpses of several blessed Rank D being burned as if they were just ordinary people.
With a smile on his face that these men couldn't see because of the helmet, Noah just ignored what was said and commanded the unicorn to continue advancing towards the stairs to the first underground floor. The security chief shot the arrow he had nocked on his bowstring without a second thought, but before the arrow got close to Noah, a fire dagger appeared between the arrow and Noah without much fanfare and completely swallowed the arrow.
"Shit… we're fucked…" was the man's last thought before being hit by a fire dagger that began to burn through his body.
"Arrrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!"
"AAaaaaaaarrrrghh!!!"
"AArrrgghhhhh!"
Shouts of horror sounded throughout the ground floor, completely startling those Blessed with weaker willpower. Some could not even hold their own weapons as they knelt on the ground and wept, afraid to find the cause of so many screams of despair.
'I don't want to be next...' This was the thought of many of the Blessed as they surreptitiously began to hide and go 'patrol' the area farthest from those screams, while hoping not to meet this monster.
This made the job much easier for Noah, who had already managed to descend to the first underground floor. Because of the large number of people he was burning, Noah's energy never dropped below 90%, always managing not to burn the corpses too fast, or too slow.
When he reached the second underground floor, Noah finally found a worthy opponent. A very fat man dragging thick chains across the floor was staring at Noah with a smile on his face.
"So you're the insect that was killing the other insects? Hehe, know that while the grasshopper was stalking the ants, the bat was stalking the grasshopper. You won't be able to take another step from here, because I'm your bat," the fat man said as he kept his smile on.
Noah looked at this rude-looking man and was surprised that this fat man even knew how to form a proverb. "Unfortunately I am the hawk that eats bats," Noah said simply as he jumped off the unicorn's back and tested an idea against the proverb the man gave him.
From Noah's hands, chains as thick as this fat man's molded from his flames and glowed like hot magma. What surprised the fat man, who knew very well the control necessary to be able to mold matter made by a Blessing, even more effort was required than usual to mold energy like fire.
"Hrmp, we'll see," the fat man responded as he swung his thick chains toward Noah.
The hiss of those chains as they cut through the air clearly demonstrated the weight it had and the strength needed to make such a move. But unfortunately for this man, if there was one thing Noah didn't lack, it was strength.
As far as Noah could see, this fat man was just an ordinary Blessed Rank C who had never absorbed any essence to boost his stats, which made their strength difference even greater.
Like the fat man, Noah swung his own chains, mimicking the movement the man had made. But as he moved, Noah stepped slightly to the side.
The fat man didn't understand the reason for the step Noah took, but as soon as the two chain links were supposed to collide, Noah's current of fire, which didn't have a physical body, just passed through the fat man's chains and went straight toward to his chest and belly, smeared with f fat, blood, and gristle from the man, while the metal chains he'd flung fell down where Noah had previously been.
Unfortunately the battle was over right then and there. With perfect control over the chains, Noah made them move like two snakes and wrap themselves perfectly around the man, running the fat off his entire body, and quickly setting into the man's flesh.
Despite the man's high endurance, the large amount of mana Noah had amassed from burning other corpses meant that he could inject even more mana into the currents, causing the temperature of it to reach heights that Noah had never done before. Not to mention that the mana the chains absorbed from a Blessed Rank C were even greater than the dozens of Blessed Rank D Noah had previously killed, providing even more mana for him.
"You're just a little bat..." Noah said coldly as he walked past the fat man's body as he writhed in pain on the floor, only grunting through his mouth, begging for help. But mercy for anyone who threatened Noah's family never crossed his mind at all.
Even though it was all orchestrated by the boss and these men weren't responsible for it, they just had to blame themselves for choosing the wrong person for whom to work.
"Now let's get to the real challenge," Noah said to himself as he descended the stairs to the third underground floor.
