Noah immediately teleported to the spirit wolf. Sensing a human close to him, the wolf quickly transformed into his ethereal form, hoping that human's physical attack couldn't hurt him, but that left the wolf completely exposed to Noah's attack.
Noah tried to use the sharp form of the [Fire Dagger] to cut the wolf's spirit form, but strangely it didn't work.
The fire really stuck to the wolf, burning this monster as well as it should, but the dagger had no effect on that monster's skin, perhaps because in his spirit form there wasn't even skin.
So since Noah couldn't cut the wolf anyway, Noah decided to just burn those monsters' bodies to the ground.
Being a Rank C monster, the amount of mana his body generated for Noah when burned by [Hell Flames] was very high, so he just used this ability to try to ignite it as much as possible.
But Noah wasn't fast enough. Just after the wolf screamed in agony at being burned by the flames, howls were heard around that place. Apparently other wolves heard the pain this wolf was feeling and decided to come help.
"Shit, I need to be faster." Noah thought as he burned mana too fast, producing a great cloud of fire that quickly engulfed the wolf.
But even so, the wolf wasn't an idiot, so to avoid getting burned so quickly, he snapped back into physical form and sprinted away from Noah with as much speed as he had.
That made the call burn more slowly, but Noah knew that as long as the wolf didn't stray that far, he would still burn to death.
With that in mind, Noah proceeded to summon [Fire Daggers] and hurl it at the wolf, causing it to alternate between physical form and ethereal form repeatedly, further accelerating the burning process. Until finally he died 100 meters away from the group.
Noah didn't think twice and teleported back to the group, using [Fire Daggers] and [Fire Claws] to deal with the ghost knights, while throwing [Fire Balls] into the banshees to kill these monsters soon.
Unfortunately none of them had essences to be absorbed, however, Noah received a lot of stats for burning the bodies of these 5 monsters.
+ 0.2 Strength by riders;
+0.2 Mana for Banshees;
+ 0.1 Agility for the wolf.
It wasn't a large amount that could completely change Noah's strength, but just like in the previous fortress, if Noah could absorb a large number of monster corpses, then that would become a very expressive number. After all, even 2 stat points make a lot of difference for a blessed, which is equivalent to 20 essences that he absorbs, let alone receive it in a single stronghold.
This was something Noah was pleasantly surprised about. His biggest weakness these days was that his points were concentrated on Strength, making his other stats fall far short of what he really needed.
But a stronghold like this, where he could simply kill several monsters and receive variable stats, was much better for Noah's overall strength.
Many people recommended the blessed Rank C to only use essences on a single stat, to at least have a strong edge, and not be considered a 'Good at everything, master of nothing'.
But for Noah it was different. He could receive as many stats as he wanted in the strongholds, and could easily be 'Master of everything, bad of nothing'.
What for him, who had assassin, knight, mage, healer skills, was much more practical, after all, for someone so versatile, just having all the stats at maximum he could exert 100% of his potential.
Strenght stats might be useless for normal mages, but for Noah who used the [Fire Claws] it was a must-have, just like his other stats also had their own needs.
But Noah didn't have time to think about his statistics. "I heard several howls in the distance. I believe a pack of wolves is coming, prepare for battle, we won't have time to rest, and we don't know the number of enemies, prepare for the worst." The captain replied. Being an archer his sensitivity to noise, wind speed and smell was much higher than other classes besides assassin, being a class that used a lot of ambushes.
Noah knew about this pack, so he left a small portion of each monster's corpses to use as mana fuel for the upcoming battle.
Soon, several canine silhouettes began to appear among the trees. Because of the dense fog it was even harder to see these wolves, but for that Noah had an idea.
If it was difficult for the group to see these wolves, Noah would just need to provide a sight for these blessed ones.
Since he had the role of being a free person on the team, he would not need to consult the captain to act at all times, being free to attack as he wished.
Then without thinking too much, Noah began to explode very quickly.

With each explosion, Noah would appear behind one of the wolves and hit a quick [Fire Ball]. Noah's intention was not to kill these monsters, but to create a clear target for the team to know where these monsters were and be able to both attack and defend, after all, they couldn't see as well as Noah in this fog.
Fighting four monsters as in the previous battle was much easier to spot and locate these monsters, but when dealing with a pack of wolves, which apparently had more than 12 monsters, it made this job even more difficult.
"Very well, Noah." The captain praised Noah's idea, and the versatility of his blessing. As an archer, the captain felt pretty good about having a clear target to aim and fire, so without a second thought, he yelled. "Attack together, warriors attract the attention of the wolves, mages, focus on the wolves the warriors are attacking, Beth, combine your magic with my arrows, let's shoot the wolves together, forcing them to take damage from at least one of our attacks , Noah, shine again."
