The downpour became heavier and heavier. There was a cold gust of wind. Tang Xinyan could not help but shiver.
Her slender body only looked slimmer in the rain.
The heel was stuck solid. As she was about to squat down and have a look, a black Bentley stopped by her side.
A tall and lean man came down from the car with a big umbrella in his hand.
He walked toward her and handed her the umbrella, "Hold this, I will help you."
Tang Xinyan was stunned with her pale mouth agape, and before she could reject, the man had already squatted down and was holding her fair ankle with his large hands.
The moment his warm hands touched her skin, Tang Xinyan jilted as if she had just experienced an electric shock.
Mo Chiwei squinted at her with his dark eyes. "Stand straight and don't move!" His deep and stony voice seemed to indicate that she should not say anything.
Tang Xinyan lowered her head and looked at the man in front of her. He held her ankle with one hand and held her stuck heels with another. He was focused, even his silhouette looked handsome. The rain dampened his broad shoulders. She moved the umbrella slightly until it was on top of his head without him noticing.
A few seconds later, he had removed the heels from the gap.
Tang Xinyan regained her balance and handed the umbrella back to him. "Thank you."
Mo Chiwei did not take the umbrella. He stood up and looked at the little woman in front of him with narrow eyes. He spoke deeply and frostily, "Where are you going? I can give you a ride."
Tang Xinyan pointed at the taxi station which was not far away and shook her head. "I'm soaking wet. I don't want to dirty your car." If she was not mistaken, his car should cost well above ten million!
Mo Chiwei slightly pursed his thin lips and remained silent. He turned and walked back to his Bentley under the rain.
After the car had driven away, Tang Xinyan then realized that she was still holding his umbrella.
Back at Coral Garden, Tang Xinyan took a hot bath, and lay on her bed feeling exhausted.
She curled up into a ball and wrapped her arms around herself, like a helpless and lonely child.
Every time she thought of Fu Sichen, tides of sorrow would consume and suffocate her.
She once believed that, even if other men were cold-blooded and fickle, Fu Sichen would never betray her.
She only had Fu Sichen by her side ever since she was a child. Although she entered the entertainment industry and had filmed two movies, she had never slept with any man. She kept her virginity for him.
She was a conservative woman. She was not willing to give herself to him previously because she wanted to save it for their wedding night.
But in the end, what did she get?
She fell into his trap, received his betrayal, humiliation and harm...
He was the man beside her when she was still learning how to speak, and he had already become an inseparable part of her. Prior to yesterday night, she trusted him and counted on him. She was able to quit the entertainment industry which he did not like for him, she tried to please her mother-in-law and sister-in-law who always made things difficult for her.
She knew that she had flaws. She was stubborn, arrogant and bull-headed. She was not a soft and lovely woman, neither did she know how to get a man's heart, nor did she try to explain any rumors about her.
She thought that he was the man who understood her the most, the one who trusted her the most.
She was the one who was too confident in their relationship!
She shook her heavy head. Tang Xinyan was not willing to think of Fu Sichen anymore.
They could no longer go back to how they were after what had happened last night.
She would try her best to protect her heart, and try her best to remove him from her heart!
She shifted her position in bed. Before Tang Xinyan closed her eyes and fell asleep, an outstandingly handsome face appeared in her mind.
A pair of dashing eyebrows, sombre and dark eyes, high-bridged nose and beautiful thin lips...
When he squatted down and helped her to pull out her heels, the muscular linings on his shoulders and arms very well portrayed his manliness. He was perfect.
