1210 Sanguine Squad VS Sky Dragon Squad

Based on logic, Quan Zhen Sect had not violated any rules therefore no matter how much noise the audience made, they would not face any consequences.

For these players, whatever tactics they had used was perceived to be a display of their superior intelligence. They felt that the audience that was clamouring for them to leave were players that were mentally retarded and jealous

After much din, under the appeasement by security, the venue finally regained its former calm. All the participants made their way up into the arena.

There were a total of 30 teams participating in the professional tournament. They hailed from places all over the country.

The competing format was similar to that of previous competitions with the use of drawing lots to determine matchups.

Since Team A Murder Of Crows qualified through special means and had already gone through two consecutive days of competition, they were given a first round bye.

The main purpose of the players from Quan Zhen Sect today was to turn up for the welcome ceremony.

Since they did not have to pay an entrance fee, everyone being long-time players wanted to have the first-hand experience in seeing what it was like.

After all, it was wise to know your opponent thoroughly. Quan Zhen Sect's capabilities were already scouted extensively after their two days of competition. It was imperative for them to take note of their future opponents.

They had nothing to lose anyway.

After a round of introductions by the host, the teams took their places and the Quan Zhen Sect players returned to the viewing gallery.

At this moment, the lighting darkened and two beams of light began to intertwine and clash rapidly.

In the end, the column of light fell on Sanguine Alliance's Sanguine Squad.

With bated breaths, Wang Yu and the others could not believe that the first up to fight was a familiar friend…

Looking at Sanguine Squad's opponent, they were even more taken aback. Aiya, even more familiar bunch of players. It turned out to be Apocalypse's Sky Dragon Squad.

The two selected teams got up and entered the arena. Frost Blade quickly inquired in hushed tones, "The dealer is here. Sanguine Squad odds are 1:1 while Sky Dragon Squad is 1:2. Is anybody willing to take a gamble?"

Wang Yu was astonished, "Sanguine Squad odds are 1:1? Are they that strong?"

"Old Bull, you cannot say things like that!"

The rest of them berated Wang Yu, "Don't think that just because we used to bully Sanguine Alliance then all of them are weak. They are considered a top ten professional team after all. They have many experts in their ranks."

As he said, Ming Du fished out a fistful of cash, "Frost Blade, help me bet on Sanguine Squad. Considering the friendship between me and Sanguine Warflag, I should support them. I'm not doing this for money."

"Isn't Apocalypse also in the top ten?" Wang Yu countered. Even though Wang Yu never concerned himself with such matters, through his daily interactions, he also picked up some of these nuances.

"Indeed…" Frost Blade continued, "However, they have lost their city. Everybody in the game knows that fact."

The main purpose of a guild was to channel large amounts of resources for their competitive squads but more importantly, it provided a platform to build their reputation and raise their fame.

These guild battles or city battles were to raise the visibility and prominence of each guild.

When the guild is strong, their competitive squad will also be strong. This creates a synergistic relationship where the two sides will equally benefit each other from each other's successes.

Which was the main city that Sanguine Alliance was based?

"Twilight City!"

This was the first independent city and one that had the stellar record of repelling the city siege.

Even though the locals knew that the true contributors in that city defense efforts were the Quan Zhen Sect, players outside the city would attribute the success to Sanguine Alliance since they were the biggest guild within Twilight City.

The bunch of Quan Zhen Sect did not bother about such trivialities. They did not bother clarifying the matter. As a result, Sanguine Alliance's fame experienced an exponential growth.

For Apocalypse, it was seen as a waning force that was on the decline.

The Sky Dragon City players had even suffered from Blood Dragon God indiscriminate killings and even their previous City Lord attempted a mutiny to massacre everyone. They were a complete mess.

As the largest guild within Sky Dragon City, since there were two unspeakable and shameful incidents under its watch, it resulted in a drastic fall in their fortunes.

With such a comparison, Apocalypse was seen as the underdogs and the odds were already quite favourable to them.

"I see…"

Hearing Frost Blade's detailed explanation, Wang Yu caressed his lower jaw, "Although I also remembered the incident whereby many of Sanguine Alliance's experts were lured away by Void Blade."

"This…" Ming Du and the others stiffened their expression as they heard him.

"Si…." Frost Blade sucked in a breath of cold air, "If you didn't mention that point, I would have forgotten about it. Apocalypse had even managed to enlist the help of God of War for this competition. Although they may seem weak on the surface, they are the dark horse for the competition."

"That makes sense." The rest nodded in agreement, "Frost Blade, we didn't say our options carefully just now, could you help us bet on Sky Dragon Squad instead."

"F*ck!" Wang Yu spat at them speechless, "Do you guys also have a close friendship with Sky Dragon Squad?"

"You don't understand!" Spring Halo maintained a composure of seriousness, "Respecting your opponent is equivalent to respecting yourself. The stronger the opponent implies that our strength is equally great as well. Betting on Sky Dragon Squad to win is giving ourselves motivation."

"You can even justify your actions like this?"

Wang Yu gave up talking to these bunch of scum who could invert right and wrong whenever they wanted.

However, these players had a shred of empathy in their hearts after all. After betting, Spring Halo rubbed his lower jaw, "Sanguine Warflag is a friend after all, do you think our actions are a little disrespectful?"

"En! It is a little."

"Come on, everyone, bet another hundred on Sanguine Squad's victory." Vainglory suggested.

"Hundred is way too much, ten is enough…" The rest reluctantly parted with their money.

"Old Bull, are you not buying?" Fearless turned towards Wang Yu and inquired.

Wang Yu waved him away, "It's fine to just play games online. I don't gamble in real life."

As Frost Blade departed to place bets, the two teams took their place on the stage.

The fight was about to commence.

In accordance with Wang Yu's expectations, a squad required sufficient time to build synergy and teamwork. Since Sanguine Squad had lost the bulk of their strength in recently, they were not as strong as people claimed them to be.

A few of their newer experts were also not up to par. In the first round of the competition, Sanguine Squad suffered a tragic loss with Apocalypse leading the score 5:0.

In the second round, it was even more one-sided. Riding on their momentum, Thunderlord Block won consecutive rounds in a row.

Sanguine Squad was about to lose another round with a 5:0 score when a player at the back was transmitted onto the battle platform.

He had a thin body frame, and his face was pale as though he could not even withstand a gust of wind. With the staff in his hand, the top of his staff shimmered with a blinding light.

"Huh?" This person seems a little familiar."

Looking at the Sanguine Squad players, Fearless's face flashed with a trace of doubt.
