"En…"
Imperial Dragon Behead nodded his head and answered in a soft voice.
"How did ten of them exterminate all 300 of us?" An astonished Imperial Dragon Carefree questioned.
As a top professional expert, Imperial Dragon Carefree believed that it was possible for one person to fight and win ten people. However, he also believed that once the number of enemies exceeds a hundred, it wouldn't be as straightforward as a simple math problem.
If all ten members of the Carefree Squad were to go against hundreds of gamers, they would probably not last for longer than one round. However, Imperial Dragon Behead was telling them that a group of ten people killed 300. Even though Imperial Dragon Carefree was mentally prepared, hearing it was still enough to give him goosebumps.
Could it be that this bunch of gamers had already grown to become this strong in this rather new model of the game?
"They have a Shaman who knows how to summon, a Magician who knows how to mass attack. One moment of carelessness and we failed to surround them…"
Imperial Dragon Behead described the whole situation honestly.
He explained in great detail as to how the Quan Zhen Sect suddenly attacked and managed to kill their assassins even as they were on the backfoot.
The more the heard about the story, the greater the shock they were in.
A Shaman that knows how to summon? Could he be summoning ghosts?
A Magician with extremely powerful attacks?
An Assassin and Warrior with exceptional teamwork to kill people in seconds?
An Archer who can accurately hit a target over 20 metres away?
With every sentence, Land of Imperial Power's jaw dropped even more.
"What about that Pugilist?" Land of Imperial Power started to wipe his sweat away.
"He…" Imperial Dragon Behead had an awful expression the moment he heard about the Pugilist, "That despicable man led us right into the high level monsters zone. Afterwards, he attracted over 500 monsters to attack us. By the time we killed that group of monsters, we were only left with about one hundred men."
"And?"
"And we were all killed by them." Imperial Dragon Behead's head was as low as it could get.
"Ah…" Land of Imperial Power took in one deep breath of cold air.
While two third of the Land of Imperial Power's men were killed by schemes and plots, the last hundred people were legitimately finished off by the Quan Zhen Sect.
It was still frightening to hear that ten people defeated one hundred.
"I never thought that the Pugilist would still have a bunch of friends who were this capable…" Land of Imperial Power couldn't help but mutter.
Imperial Dragon Carefree added, "I've warned you before that we shouldn't offend the Quan Zhen Sect. Fortunately, they didn't lose anything this time. Otherwise, you'll be in living in fear everyday because they would definitely come to find us."
"F*ck…" After a long thought, Imperial Dragon Behead turned to Land of Imperial Power, "Fearless wanted me to tell you that they will be coming to find trouble with our guild. He wants to let you understand which guild is the trash guild."
"Fearless? Who is that?" Land of Imperial Power asked subconsciously. He really hadn't seen a person as arrogant as this man.
Imperial Dragon Carefree replied, "He is the leader of the Quan Zhen Sect. I know him."
"Is he also an expert?" Land of Imperial Power asked.
Imperial Dragon Carefree sighed as he answered, "That fella is definitely highly skilled. However, it is not the reason why he is scary."
"Oh? Then why is he scary?"
"You have no idea. That fella is a bellyful of evil tricks and schemes. Back then, he was the one who tortured the Termination Manor to death." Imperial Dragon Carefree couldn't help but feel pitiful the moment he talked about the Termination Manor.
"Interesting… Imagine if we can rope these fellas into our squad. We will become an unmatchable force right?" Land of Imperial Power got excited just by thinking about it.
Imperial Dragon Carefree shook his head, "I doubt we can control this bunch of wild horses…"
Land of Imperial Power replied in a disdainful tone, "Tsk! We have money and manpower. With your help, will it really be impossible to control them?"
"I don't mind helping you but we still have to see big boss's intention." Imperial Dragon Carefree replied.
…
"What did the BOSS drop?"
At this moment, all the members of the Quan Zhen Sect were surrounding Frost Blade as they asked out of curiosity.
Frost Blade slowly took out three items from his pocket.
The first item was a black coloured article called the Fortress Fortification.
Fortress Fortification (Guild Treasure) (Bronze): Can increase the guild's headquarters by two levels. After handing this article to the city lord of the headquarters, the building will increase in level too. Notification:
The guild headquarters can be split into 7 grades namely the low level, intermediate level, high level, village, town, city and metropolis.
Currently, most of the guild headquarters were of the low level just like the Quan Zhen Sect. Only the Sanguine Alliance's one was of an intermediate level.
There were clear differences in the effects of having a different level headquarters. Other than the increase in capability to accommodate more people, the higher the level of the guild, the tighter the defence. The weapons used to guard the headquarters would also become more powerful.
For example, the city defence of a low level headquarters like the Quan Zhen Sect would only be around 100. Moreover, there will only be two towers with archers at each entrance… Their defence layout would be extremely simple.
For intermediate headquarters, the defence would be up to 300 and inclusive of two more Magicians' forts…
Even so, the members of the Quan Zhen Sect were not particularly attracted by this plaything.
"This plaything is so useless!" Looking at the description of the Fortress Fortification, everyone from the Quan Zhen Sect expressed their dissatisfaction in unison.
The Quan Zhen Sect only had a total of over ten members. The majority of them hadn't even gone back to the headquarters for more than half a year. There was no difference whether they had a headquarters or not. In fact, the guild was established for some time now and some of the members had yet to complete a single guild's mission. Who would bother about such item?
"We can sell it to earn money…" Fearless was more pragmatic so he instantly knew what they could do with this item.
While this item might be useless for the Quan Zhen Sect, it was still a treasure to other guilds.
The second item was also a guild's treasure but it was a tree.
Godly Tree Of Life (Guild Treasure) (Bronze): Able to obtain the Halo of Conviction and the Praise of Life. Place this item in the guild's headquarters for it to take effect immediately.
Praise of Life: Max health increases by 200. Recovery speed of HP and MP increases by 50%.
After looking at the attributes of the Godly Tree of Life, everyone muttered, "This is still decent. If I had to choose between the first two, I am definitely choosing this item."
In >, besides the use of consumable medicines, there was still the auto recovery of HP and MP.
While increasing the recovery speed of HP and MP by 50% wasn't a lot, using it on every single member of the guild would certainly make a huge difference. Moreover, the increase in max health by 200 was extremely beneficial for the jobs with lower health, to begin with.
Fearless smiled, "Don't worry! If things go according to my plan, we will have both items."
The last item dropped by the BOSS was an exclusive one. An Alchemist's treasure chest: Exclusively for Alchemist only.
"We can't sell this item so let's just give it to Sister Snowy Velvet." Frost Blade suggested.
Even though Li Xue wasn't a combat member of the Quan Zhen Sect, she was still the Quan Zhen Sect's source of easy money. Because of this, nobody had any objections to Frost Blade's suggestion.
After keeping the items, they traced back the route and returned to the frontline sentry. The military official was anxiously waiting and he hurried over when he saw the Quan Zhen Sect. "Respectable warriors, I wonder if you have killed that despicable Alchemist Feige."
"En, we killed him! This is what you wanted." Wang Yu handed over the Godly Tree of Life as instructed by Fearless.
The military official took over the Godly Tree of Life before taking a quick glance at it, "Indeed, this is what I wanted. Thank you so much! Do you know where is the Fortress Fortification though?"
"I am not sure…" Wang Yu shook his head unwillingly.
The military official started soliloquizing, "Now that Alchemist Feige is dead, the Fortress Fortification shouldn't be able to return to the dark faction too. To express my gratitude and to ensure that our treasure will not be stolen again, please accept this as a gift from us."
After saying that, the military official returned the Godly Tree of Life to Wang Yu.
Within the channel, everyone exclaimed, "F*ck! We really get to keep the Fortress Fortification just like that?"
Everyone thought that the system would keep the Godly Tree of Life. Who knew that it would return to them just like that?
Fearless chuckled, "These two guild treasures were meant to be gamers' reward anyway. After we chase the Flaming Militia away, we just have to insist that we didn't see the other treasure. The NPC will not take away the reward we deserved."
"You sly fox!"
After completing the quest, everyone recovered their ability to teleport. As they sat through the frontline teleportation formation back to Twilight City, they suddenly received a public announcement.
"Nian Liuyun of Thunderstorm City is the first person to complete "The Beginners' Trial" and reached level 30. His name will go down in history forever. Hopefully, everyone can look up to him and work hard to reach greater heights."
The public announcement was repeated three times across >, leaving everyone in shock.
The average level of current players was around 25. Quan Zhen Sect had a few members who were in level 28 and they were already considered to be the top few experts in the country. They didn't expect someone to be able to reach level 30 so quickly.
Presently, the most depressed person was Yang Nuo. Yang Nuo was only a tiny bit away from level 30. Yang Nuo had always been very competitive so how could she feel good now that she was slightly inferior to this Nian Liuyun.
While level 30 and level 29 were only one level apart, the difference in strength was staggering.
This was because anyone below level 30 would still be considered as being part of the "Beginner's Trials" and their skills and talent were still of the lowest tiers.
Once gamers breakthrough level 30 to step into the "Risk Taker Phase", the skills would still be based on the various jobs. The increment in the strength of these skills would undoubtedly be incomparable to those below level 30.
Besides this, rumours spread that the first gamer to reach level 30 would receive an exclusively prepared reward by the system. This was something everyone yearned for.
"I'm so angry! I'm so close to being the first one!" Yang Nuo kept on nagging.
Fearless consoled, "Don't be too depressed over it. Hurry up and increase your levels. Now that the level 30 reward is gone, you should focus on fighting for the level 60 reward…"
Just as all the experts were feeling depressed, the forum started becoming lively again.
Wang Yu and Nian Liuyun were originally the two most commonly talked about topic on the forums. People usually compare the two of them and both their sets of fans were always arguing with each other.
Now that Nian Liuyun reached level 30 before Wang Yu, his fan base started strutting around and the Twilight City's forum was filled with Thunderstorm City's provocations.
"Regardless of how impressive Iron Bull is, isn't he still overshadowed by our Nian Liuyun?"
"Iron Bull should just be called Iron Bullsh*t…"
The gamers from the Twilight City were not to be outdone so they responded, "A person's level doesn't mean everything. Get him to have a SOLO battle with Iron Bull if you dare!"
Both parties were unwilling to give up on their pride as the number of curses on the forum was getting out of hand.
Of course, there were those who came with bad intentions to join the crowd. There was one particularly eye-catching forum post which was sock puppeted to the top of the list.
