After reaching the west side of the city, Fearless instantly saw Wang Yu who was squatting at the bottom of the wall, something that Fearless felt he could not do at this age.
Fearless walked to Wang Yu speechlessly then kicked him and asked, “What’s up? Why did you ask me to come so urgently?”
Wang Yu turned around then pointed at the damaged wall behind him and said, “Look at this wall!”
“What’s wrong with it?” Fearless did not see what was going on.
Wang Yu shared his quest with Fearless then said, “I just received this quest to investigate why the wall has been damaged… You are widely read, can you take a look to see what happened to this wall?”
“F*ck!” Fearless speechlessly replied, “What has this got to do with being widely read. I am not a professional cement worker, how would I know why the wall is damaged…”
“Then what now? I can’t keep squatting here, right…” Seeing that even Fearless could not help, Wang Yu felt helpless.
After doing so many quests, he never came across such a troublesome one. Giving Wang Yu a BOSS to kill would be easier than this.
“That’s no problem!” Fearless looked at the city wall then looked at the introduction in the quest column, smiled and said, “Although I’m not a professional, let’s go look for one.”
“A professional?” Wang Yu questioned, “Look for Brother Spring?”
Brother Spring was a senior engineer in ground and woodworks so he should not be unfamiliar with such brick walls.
“No point looking for him!” Fearless shook his head and said, “Knowledge and kung fu are different. Knowledge in reality is different in the game.”
Indeed, the gaming world was a fictitious world and was different from reality in various ways. A simple example would be that in the game, players could easily summon fire… but in reality, no one can.
With the same logic, Twilight City’s wall was damaged because of a reason reality cannot explain so Spring Halo would probably not find any clues too. If not, with so many people in Void Blade, there had to be one or two ground and woodwork engineering students.
“Then who should we look for?” Wang Yu asked cluelessly.
Fearless pointed at the city wall and said, “This city wall is built in European-style and European’s architecture focuses on using stones, so to find out why the city wall became like this, we need to find a stonesmith in the game. But Twilight City doesn’t have one of them, right?”
Regular NPCs were divided into two categories. One was a commoner-like civilian NPC and the other was those with a profession, the professional NPC.
Most of the professional NPC in the city were blacksmiths, tailors and other jobs which were closely related to players’ daily lives.
Fearless had never heard of a stonesmith profession as in this era, no one needed stone weapons to fight.
“A stonesmith in the game?”
While Fearless casually spoke his mind, Wang Yu seemed to have thought of something upon hearing Fearless’ words. He took out a stone slab and displayed its attributes, then said, “Twilight City seems to have a stonesmith called Arthur. Have you heard of him?”
“A stonesmith called Arthur? Nope!” Fearless shook his head.
Fearless did not enjoy loitering around in the city usually so naturally, he did not remember NPCs’ names. It was expected that he had not heard of the name Arthur.
Seeing that Fearless had no idea, Wang Yu quickly opened the guild chat and asked, “Anyone knows an NPC called Arthur? @Everyone.”
“I know!”
This was indeed a professional wanderer. Wang Yu just asked and Frost Blade instantly replied, “There are 13 NPCs in Twilight City called Arthur. Which one are you looking for?”
Arthur was such a common name, just like John, Jack, James. A random selection of people could include a few Arthurs but it was unexpected that there would be 13 of them in the small Twilight City.
“I’m looking for a stonesmith called Arthur!” Wang Yu replied.
“That’s none of them…” Frost Blade stated, “Amongst 13 of them, 12 are civilian NPC and the other 1 sells fruits on the street. None of them are stonesmiths.”
“Ah?”
Hearing Frost Blade’s reply, Wang Yu’s face fell. He finally found a clue but it was a dead-end. There went this idea too.
Just then, Fearless suddenly said, “This stone slab might be from any era so even if there was an Arthur, who knows how old this thing is.”
“You’re right!” Wang Yu rubbed his chin and said, “Then what should we do now?”
“Hehe!” Fearless chuckled and said, “Since this old Arthur lived in Twilight City, we should ask someone who’s very knowledgeable.”
“Someone very knowledgeable? You mean?” With Fearless’ reminder, Wang Yu paused for a while and a cold-looking face appeared in his mind.
Fearless nodded, “Yes, our Twilight City’s very own Librarian…”
“Sigh!” Wang Yu sighed and said, “I guess we’ll have to make a trip to the library!”
Honestly speaking, if he had any other choice, Wang Yu really did not want to go to the library to look for this guy.
Well, although Librarians were knowledgeable, they were conmen… Fine that they demand payment for questions but even after you paid and did not ask your question correctly, you might not get the answer you need.
Based on Wang Yu’s wealth, he could afford a few hundred gold coins but that guy was obviously conning him and yet he was eagerly looking for him now. He was now a typical ignorant rich man.
Of course, with Fearless around, Wang Yu felt way more relieved because he had never lost out in a deal with the Librarian before.
The Library was in the Magicians Academy on Central Street so upon deciding to ask the Librarian for help, the two of them walked towards the Magician Academy.
Just then, the shadow of an Assassin appeared quite a distance away from the wall. He looked at the two of them leave and sent a message saying, “Leader Big Bear, that guy is leaving with a Priest.”
“Leaving?” Big Bear Deng Deng An said, “How does the Priest look like?”
The Assassin gave it some thought then said, “He’s quite fair and neat but for some reason, looking at his face, I really wanted to stab him. I wonder if I felt wrong.”
“You did not feel wrong!” Big Bear Deng Deng An said, “If my guess is right, that Priest is a gangster from Quan Zhen Sect, Fearless.”
“So he is the legendary Fearless… No wonder.”
The Assassin was enlightened and instantly understood why he could barely hold himself back from stabbing that face. So that was the leader of Quan Zhen Sect, the number one *sshole guild in the game.
At the same time, Big Bear Deng Deng An, who was far away, began to have wild thoughts.
He knew Fearless, too. No matter how much Big Bear despised Fearless’ moral character, he had to admit that this guy was extremely smart.
Since Wang Yu got him to come over, he must have his reason. Now that the two of them were leaving, it had to be related to the quest.
At this thought, Big Bear Deng Deng An opened the notification column to reply to the Assassin, “Follow them but remember, don’t go too close. Just make sure that they are within your sight!”
“Ok! I understand!”
After the Assassin replied a one-liner, he went back into [Stealth].
