11 The Witch Is Here?

Miray went back to the hall and Terrence waslooking for her.

"Hey, where were you??" 

"Sorry I went to get some fresh air, I thought you were with your friends?" Miray looked around to see if there was anyone next to him.

"Yes I was, come let me introduce you to them." Terrence grabbed her hand as he led her to where his friends were.

"Sure, " Miray turned around to see if anyone was watching them.

The opening ceremony was suppose to start at 8pm but it was suddenly delayed because they were waiting for the CEO, Skylar Vandeers, to show up.

Thirty minutes later the master of ceremony went up to the stage. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, sorry for the delay... Here is our CEO, Skylar Vandeers!!!" Everybody started to clap their hands when a tall figure made its way to the stage. 

Skylar was wearing a grey tuxedo and he looked really handsome in it. The women in the room were mesmerized by his look, most of them had gone there just to be noticed by him. Skylar walked to the stage and seemed to search for someone in the crowd before he began to speak.

"I am sorry I am late, I had a situation with a very strange woman," his gaze met with Miray's after he said those words. Everyone thought it was a joke and they all started to laugh at what he said. Only Miray knew what he meant.

"I would like to thank everyone for coming to this ceremony... But mostly I would like to thank a special guest for making an appearance here to support the opening of our new branch. This is the first time she actually made it out to the public, please put your hands together for Miray Yethu, the CEO of MIT company!!!" Everyone was surprised, the photographers were ready to take photos. They all knew her but they had never seen her before.

'The witch is here?'

'I can't wait to see what she looks like' 

'How come she made her first appearance here?'

'Are they planning to merge their companies?'

Miray was calm as she heard all the whispers that were going on around her. Terrence turned to her, "should I go with you?"

Miray remembered what Skylar had told her before then she simply replied with a smile, "no it's okay, I will go by myself."

Miray stood up from her seat andwalked towards the stage. The cameras began to flash while everyone was looking at her every move. She walked confidently to where Skylar was and showed no sign of fear or nervousness. She gave a bow to everybody, showing respect to all. 

Skylar was smiling inwardly, 'wait till I make you my wife and show you to the whole world', he thought to himself as he looked at the way Miray walked fearlessly in front of the crowd.

"Would you like to say a few words, Miss Yethu?" Skylar handed Miray the microphone, giving her no room to say no.

Miray got the microphone from him, "Thank you everyone and Thank you Mr. Vandeers... I hope we become partners instead of competitors. MIT company is gladly showing support to your arrival. Wishing you the best of luck. " Miray made her last bow and turned around to walk out of the stage when suddenly Skylar stopped her.

"Miss Yethu, please join us in our VIP seats, thank you .." Skylar pointed to the seat next to where he would sit.

Miray knew the reason why Skylar made her get the VIP seat, because he did not want her to be next to Terrence. 'What a jealous man you are' Miray mocked Skylar in her thoughts. The person who was seating to her right hand side was Mr. Carlos, Miray saw it as an opportunity to talk to him.

After Skylar gave his speech, he went to his seat at Miray's left hand side. There was a performance by one of the famous singers of the sweng corporation, entertainment branch and everyone was enjoying it.

"Was that really necessary?" Miray pretended like she was not talking to Skylar, so that no one should notice.

"That is the only way to pin down a stubborn woman.." Skylar turned and looked at Miray, not caring who was watching. 

Mr. Carlos seemed to notice the two of them having a conversation, "So you two know each other?"

"No!" 

"Yes!" 

The two of them gave the answer at the same time, Mr. Carlos did not know who to believe so he smiled politely. "Whether you know him or not, I am glad you came here to show me your sincerity... I will arrange a meeting on Wednesday, your team  can come and sign the contract."

Miray could not believe it, she was so excited, "Thank you Mr. Carlos." Her mission for the night had been successful, now she had to find a way to leave as soon as possible.

Miray secretly sent a message to Terrence telling him to meet her at the parking area after 10 minutes.

"Did you open the box I gave you?" skylar asked.

"Oh that,..." Miray gave a pause for a second and continued, " Excuse me I need to make a call to my nephew before he sleeps." Miray lied.

Skylar knew it was a lie so he said to her, "Miray I will be seeing you again, very soon".

Miray stood up from her seat and left the stage. She met with Terrence at the parking area and they left immediately.

After reaching Miray's place and Terrence being a gentleman, opened the door for her and walked her to the door. "Tonight was amazing, I hope we get to do it again... Call me". He smiled and gave her a kiss on her cheek.

Before Miray could say anything he left and his car was out of sight. 'Aaa Miray, lately you have been too soft with these men, what is happening to you?' She touched her forehead as she went into her house.

The next morning Miray was awakened by the sound of the door bell. It was a Sunday morning and she had no work to do. She went to open the door but there was no one. Only a flower and a card was found. After she picked the flower, that was when she realised what flower it was. Gardenia. 

'You looked lovely last night, T. '  

Miray froze after she read the note.
