Listening to Old Master Cheng, Butler Cheng was speechless.

He got out of the car silently and opened the door.

Old Master Cheng wasn’t bothered about Butler Cheng’s reply and was still deep in thought.

Getting out of the car first, Cheng Juan stood to wait by the door, holding his phone and looking lazy.

He seemed to have read something interesting on his phone, for his lips curled up in a slight smile, and his eyes became more lively.

2

After getting out of the car, Old Master Cheng dawdled with his hands behind his back, surveying his surroundings. “Go in first and don’t wait for me. I want to look around.”

“Ok.” Cheng Juan nodded, then turned to look at Butler Cheng very accommodatingly. “Stay with him.”

Butler Cheng nodded.

Once Cheng Juan left, Old Master Cheng glanced at the butler and reached out to adjust his collar slowly.

Butler Cheng hurriedly said, “Old Master, your clothes are the new edition from the L store, right? You look very lively in them.”

1

“Really?” Old Master Cheng raised an eyebrow and smoothed his sleeves. Then, he walked slowly to the door, his expression solemn.

Butler Cheng followed him with a difficult to comprehend expression.

In the hall of the villa, Qin Ran was playing games with Lu Zhaoying.

The two sat facing each other at a table in the hall. The table was a computer table that Cheng Juan had especially moved back. It was square-shaped and helped them feel immersed when playing games.

Sitting facing the door, Qin Ran wore a short white T-shirt, black jeans, and a pair of slippers. Her legs were propped up as she held a mouse in one hand and a keyboard in the other. She had just washed her hair in the morning, and it was hanging casually at the moment. Overall, she looked a little bit wild.

“Qin Ran, save me, save me!”

“F*ck, I’m going to die, abandon me! Abandon!”

“Ahhhh, I’m going to die!”

Lu Zhaoying sat opposite her, frantic and absorbed.

Laughing, Qin Ran casually manipulated her game cards. Her black hair slid across her cheeks and she said in a sloppy, arrogant voice, “Don’t panic, your Daddy’s coming to save you.”

4

Cheng Juan walked to the kitchen and brought a few cups of water out.

Old Master Cheng was speechless after walking in and hearing this sentence.

After a round of games, Lu Zhaoying asked Cheng Juan if he wanted to join them. However, after noticing his strange expression, he turned back consciously.

He almost fell off his chair with fright at the sight of who was behind him.

His grip on the mouse loosened and it fell to the ground with a “slap”. “Elder- Elder Cheng?!”

This person was even more terrifying than his own family’s Old Master. Lu Zhaoying stood up immediately, standing at attention.

Old Master Cheng glanced at him and nodded towards him casually.

His eyebrows were sharp and imposing.

Lu Zhaoying dared not take a step.

Qin Ran turned away from the computer. She didn’t recognize Old Master Cheng but knew that he was probably the person Cheng Juan had gone to pick up.

She stood up and glanced at Cheng Juan.

He put the cup of water in her hand and said casually, “Let me introduce you to him. He’s my Father.”

Then, he walked over to Old Master Cheng and handed another cup of water to him. “Come in. Don’t stand at the door and block Butler Cheng’s path.”

Old Master Cheng didn’t move.

He and Qin Ran stared at each other, holding teacups in their hands.

They greeted each other stiffly.

“Let’s eat first.” Cheng Juan lazily asked some servants to bring up the bowl of soup before looking at Old Master Cheng. “Your morning medicinal meal.”

Old Master Cheng sat down at the table and started eating.

But his eyes were still focused on Qin Ran and Cheng Juan.

After asking for Old Master Cheng’s medicinal meal, Cheng Juan glanced at Qin Ran and asked in a low voice about what she ate in the morning.

“Oh,” Qin Ran replied faintly, “don’t talk to me.”

Cheng Juan paused.

Qin Ran put her hands behind her head. “I don’t want to fight with you now.”

3

Cheng Juan was speechless.

He massaged his temples.

They spoke very quietly, but Old Master Cheng, who was sitting at the table and eating, paused with a spoon in his hand.

He stared at the two silently.

He finished his medicinal meal after a long while. Taking the checkered handkerchief handed over by the butler, he wiped the corners of his mouth and then said majestically, “Ok, you don’t have to look after me anymore. Butler, bring me upstairs to look at the rooms.”

Butler Cheng brought him upstairs.

Once the two were upstairs, Lu Zhaoying wiped his sweat and gave Cheng Juan a frightened look. He asked quietly, “Master Juan, why is Elder Cheng here?”

Cheng Juan glanced at Qin Ran, his forehead throbbing. She still had her hand behind her head.

**

Upstairs, after closing the door, Old Master Cheng took out his phone, seemingly relaxed. “This demon king finally met his opponent?”

5

Butler Cheng studied his expression and knew that the Old Master was very satisfied with Miss Qin.

He smiled. “Exactly.”

Miss Qin was even more arrogant than the Third Young Master.

It would be great fun if both of them were to arrive in Beijing.

Old Master Cheng didn’t think so much. He lowered his head and dialed for the most frequent call recently.

It didn’t go through on the first try.

So Old Master Cheng called for the second time patiently.

After ringing for ten seconds, it was picked up impatiently. It sounded noisy on the other end. “Elder Cheng, why are you calling me again? Is it because of your junior?”

“Of course. I don’t know if she likes the computer department, so her major might have to be changed,” Old Master Cheng replied calmly.

The person on the other end of the phone call was the Principal of Beijing University, Zhou Shan.

The Principal laughed angrily. “Elder Cheng, don’t go too far. Do you think I can randomly adjust the quota?”

1

Old Master Cheng walked over to the window and said, “We can discuss it. This year, the resources of the major academics are still allocated from our Cheng family.”

The two of them were bargaining.

Zhou Shan paused for a while and didn’t refuse immediately. “Fine, we’ll talk about this again two days later! I still have an urgent matter here!”

“What is it? You don’t even care about the resources of your academics?” Old Master Cheng squinted slightly.

“A genius appeared in this year’s nationwide examination.” Zhou Shan sounded anxious and his voice was crackling. “But that person’s information is a little difficult to find. At first, I managed to intercept the scores, but then I really couldn’t hold onto it. The Ministry of Education just found the information, so I have to quickly give a call to the family. I can’t let University A beat me to it!”

Elder Cheng squinted. “Is this person even better than… last year’s Song something?”

“I won’t go on with you, we’ll talk about it in a few days. I can’t dilly-dally or someone will beat me to it!” Zhou Shan finished speaking and immediately hang up the phone.

1

Looking down at his phone, Old Master Cheng narrowed his eyes slightly.

Zhou Shan was rarely so anxious.

Butler Cheng was standing beside him and naturally heard Zhou Shan’s words.

He raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Another person is emerging from Beijing University?”

Old Master Cheng tapped his finger on the phone and shook his head. “I’m not sure. Beijing’s structure is too complicated now, and several universities are competing against one another. Several talents have emerged from the few families and have basically monopolized the universities. This year’s college entrance examination has been jointly-produced by the universities as a way to find those who could hold their reins… It seems like the person who shocked Zhou Shan and made him so alarmed is no easy person. It could even be that person from a decade ago…”

1

Halfway through, Old Master Cheng shook his head. He fell deep in thought and sighed without continuing.

But Butler Cheng also thought of the same person and was shocked.

“We won’t mention this matter. The fight among the major forces is the Xu family’s responsibility.” Elder Cheng thought of Qin Ran’s school and asked while walking, “That girl… has she checked her results?”

Hearing this, Butler Cheng’s expression immediately became more serious. He opened the door for Old Master Cheng and lowered his voice. “Let’s not mention it today. I’ll tell you about Miss Qin later.”

Old Master Cheng raised an eyebrow at Butler Cheng’s apprehensiveness. “Ok, we’ll talk later.”

Old Master Cheng had gone upstairs to bargain with Zhou Shan over Qin Ran’s major.

He went downstairs directly after the phone call.

Downstairs, Cheng Juan, Qin Ran, and Lu Zhaoying were still sitting at the square table.

“Elder Cheng.” Lu Zhaoying quickly stood up.

Old Master Cheng waved his hand and said seriously, “I only came down to stroll around.”

Coincidentally, the phone by the sofa rang.

Old Master Cheng glanced at them before reaching out to pick up the phone.

The voice on the other end sounded very gently and polite—

“Excuse me, may I ask if this is Student Qin Ran’s house? Our school sincerely recruits Student Qin Ran. As for the preferential treatment…”

Old Master Cheng raised an eyebrow and stuttered doubtfully, “Zhou… Zhou Shan?”
