155 Yona’s heartaches

He picks up her journal and begins to read. 

"Today I wake up and the doctor explains my injuries to me . He says that I am a very lucky girl to be alive. I don't agree with him. It's been a week since the attack and I just now wake up. Why couldn't I have just died?Why did God have me live? These questions keep going through my head. I can't speak ,if I try my throat shuts and I can't breathe. It's so hard to breathe or to move. I look at my face in the mirror and it's purple with tinges of green . There are only a few spots of normal color. It's still swollen in places. I have stitches and scabs everywhere it seems. They call this lucky. I wish I was dead. That the nightmare would stop. Every sound ,every shadow,even just closing my eyes scares me. What if he comes to finish me or hurts someone I love. I remember when Aisling was beaten she was like a scared rabbit afterwards. Everyone teased her now I know how she felt. It's a never ending nightmare. How will I survive this pain I want to die to be at peace not to feel anything. The lunch lady comes in with the food but just the smell makes me vomit. The doctor say that happens sometimes. That they will just give me liquids till my throat heals. I roll over and stare out the window . Not seeing what is there just staring hoping no one will bother me. My Dad comes to visit but he doesn't ask me anything he just reads his book waiting for me to go to sleep. He told me that my mom can't bring herself to come see me that she is too afraid she will breakdown. So Aisling ,my dad and the elder uncles are my only visitors. Uncle john comes to pray with me everyday. Uncle Steve is away on deployment so auntie Jin calls to check up on me. Of course great uncle Audis is here everyday to see me . He comes during rounds and before heading home . The one person I want won't come but I'm grateful that people love me. 

Yona heart aches that his love wanted to die. She is so full of life and compassion he can't imagine a world without her in it. He turns the next page. 

i don't want to go to the other ward. It so scary I just want to go crawl into my dark room at home and never leave. That way no one can see me anymore. 

Yona closes the journal thinking of Remi as a young teenager feeling so alone and depressed. He sees that it is morning there so he gives Maureen a call. she answers right away though breathlessly. 

"Yona is all alright? If you tried Remi she is in her session with Winona they didn't need me today." 

he answers her

"nope I intended to call you. I wanted to thank you for taking care of Remi ." She gets a puzzled look and answers 

"of course I would take care of her. She is of my blood . I love that poor child." He chuckled and repeated 

"Momo thank you for giving her mommy hugs when she was hurting. She wrote in her journal that when she needed a mommy hug that a spirit momo would give her one. That she felt like she was wrapped in a cacoon." I'm thanking you for then to. If you had not done that she would not have gotten better. " 

maureen blushes and tells him. 

"it was both Moll and me we would wrap her in the middle of us. So that way she could be protected and Onacona's arms were then around us. It actually was one of the few times Moll ever interacted with the girls. She had a special spot for Remi and Aisling so when they needed her she would join Onacona and I. Remi suffered so much it took a lot of energy to help her to want to live. She wanted to die nearly every second. Then after that and she was getting better she would hurt herself over the smallest thing. I'm so happy that she has you to love her and that she is talking. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for returning my girl to us." 

thry say their goodbyes and hang up. Winona comes out of the room looking haggard and puzzled 

Maureen asks her. 

"what wrong what's happened?" Anxiously looking for Remi. 

"she is fine just slightly delusional at times." Maureen takes offense to that and puts her hands on her hips glaring at her

"oh how so?"

Winona looks at her unsure how to explain. 

"She believes that spirits helped her through her time in the hospital. That they were there and kept her safe. I know your family is religious but that's a little much to grasp. I'm afraid she maybe schizophrenic." 

Maureen does not hide her emotions well and decides this person needs a lesson. How dare she believe that spirits don't exist. Smiling she waves her hand and Winona is laying in the floor asleep. 

" now let's see who believes in spirits when you wake up." Calling for Onacona and Inola to help her they get Winona to bed. Onacona looks at his wife wondering what Winona did to upset her so much that she put her to sleep magically. 

When the men leave she places her hand on Winona forehead. 

"from this day  till you understand you shall see the unseen. You shall know the spirit 

World and all that it brings. Only when you ask for guidance and understand will the lesson be learned. " she snapped her fingers and Winona was awake looking quite confused. Looking at her she asked 

"What happened how did I get to my room ?" 

Maureen smiles an gently tells her that she fainted and the men brought her in. 

Winona shakes her head and looks for her phone. 

"Thank you for your help. I don't know what came over me. If you will excuse me I need to call the pharmacy and get Remi started on medication. It's not good for her to have these delusions. Especially if she begins to transfer them to others."

Maureen looks at her angrily 

"you think just because you have a doctorate and are educated you know everything. There is nothing wrong with Remi except that she needs to set the past free. Do you really think there are no such thing as spirits and spiritual things. How sad and closed minded you are. I was even thinking of matching you up with one of my babies. Now I'm having second thoughts. How can you call yourself a healer and not know all there is about healing. Trust me you will learn I just hope you wise up quickly before you lose it." With that she slams out of the room and calls the pharmacy . 

"hey Gina it Maureen, there is a Doctor that wants to put Remi on a medication if she calls fill it but put it back away. Remi will not be picking it up. This crazy woman doesn't believe in spirits. How dare she come into our house spouting such thing." 

Gina is Aisling's cousin she has seen the family's photos and knows who Maureen is. Even if most don't want to admit it.She knows that Aisling has always had the gift of sight. She also has experienced the spiritual side of the family's traditions. So she reassured Maureen she would deal with it. She calls great uncle Audis and gives him the runs down. He decides it's time for a visit . He knows that Aisling has told him time and time again that his first wife's spirit is always present with him. So he knows that if he goes for a visit she will be there with him. If he can get her to act up just a little for the good doctor. She will quickly understand. He gives Astila a call and asks if it's okay for him and Norma to come for dinner. That Norma has something for Aisling. Astila agrees and sends a message to the group chat with the five ladies that they are having company tonight.
