233 Getting to know Xiangin

"You don't like me much do you?" Aisling is taken back by the question. She knows she has not been overly warm to the girl but she has not been mean either. 

"I wouldn't say that I don't like you as that I don't know you." Aisling looks at the sky picking out the different constellations. 

"I know that I am different and not wholly human but I love your brother. I have since my sixteenth year. He is younger than me and I know that I will age differently than him. He doesn't seem to care. I want to earn your trust and acceptance not because I want to be friends but because you are important to him. I know that David is not always confidant and can be led astray easily. I hope that my colder nature will help him stay on the straight path. A path that we can take together. You know outside of my human parents he has been the only person to ever be kind to me. He saw my first transformation and did not care he just brought me some clothes and stayed by my side till your family left . These last years I have longed to see him again I remembered where he said he lived and even tried to find him. Every time I would try I would get sick from being out of the water to long. I wished for so many years that I was human and could be with him. My mother would punish me every time I would disappear to find him. Because of her curse she needed my sisters and I to bring men to her. I refused to take part because I never wanted to be cursed like her and never be able to face David." Aisling looks intently at Xiangin trying to see if the emotion in her voice matched her expression. Aisling's heart moved when she saw tears slip from the girls eyes. Something that the boy said has been bothering Aisling so she asks Xiangin. 

"Do you remember the place that the boy from the cavern spoke of?" 

Xiangin looks at her for a moment as if she is thinking. After a few moments she answers her. 

"The place the boy was from is a town where two rivers meet, it is the same town my mother would visit. My grandmother lost something in the river there. Something important, I don't know what it is but it's something that is powerful. It supposedly belonged to the Great Father. Another fallen one lived there and my mother and grandmother wanted to get it back. It is the same town David is from. Can I ask you something?" 

Aisling sees that this girl's family has ties with hers. Tunis was the boy that her grandmother enchanted and killed. Her uncle Steve was the boy who lost his gift helping his friend. It seems that this woman's destiny is tied to her family. Aisling nods ok to ask. 

"We have never called him anything but Dude . I think it is because Debra my sister could not say David very well. Her v sound always came out like b's so it was like she was calling herself. So one day she just started saying Dude and it stuck. I don't think many people even remember that his name is David ." Aisling explained to her. 

Xiangin smiles at such a simple answer. She thought he didn't like his name. Xiangin decides that he will be David to her. 

"Then David will be my name for him, I like it and it suits him. You know I was very jealous of you the first day that David arrived. I thought you were like mother and that the men of the house were your mates. When I saw you hug David I wanted to pull your hair out. Later when he went to our place he explained that you were his sister. To us you seemed to be the alpha and my sister was determined to take your men. I'm glad that our songs did not affect the men of your house. I was worried that David's feelings and action would be because of what I am. Since the siren song did not affect him I know he really loves me. As long as he doesn't come in contact with an ancient one. Then I'm afraid I would lose him." 

Aisling can feel Xiangin's sincerity and happiness at finding her brother. She decides to tell Xiangin about her family. 

"You know that we are not completely human either. Morrigan and Uktena are not human and are the origins of our family. Astila Yona Inola and Onacona are of Uktena's line and I am from both lines through Onacona. Moll and Maureen are of Morrigan's line. Onacona,Moll and Maureen were my ancestors and as spirits helped me defeat a curse. Their reward was to be reborn to live with their true loves in my lifetime. So we are a family of Nephilim as you are. So it does not matter that you are not only human. I don't really know the full story behind Morrigan and Uktena only that they are immortal and in service of the father." Aisling examines Xiangin's expression closely to see how she reacts hoping that it what she has told her will ease her mind. Xiangin stands up smiling brightly full of happiness. 

"That explains why they are not affected by the song, and why we are connected. Oh thank you for telling me . I'm so excited that we are destined from the start and I'm sorry that my ancestors harmed yours. Do you think the item that the fallen one  in the town is still there? Should we try to find it?"Xiangin asks Aisling. 

"I think the item has already found its way back to the father. The fallen one in the town had the book of life we returned it." 

Xiangin shakes her head no 

"Mother said it is an item that can call the sirens and control them. That only a person of great power can use it. That the great father used it to call them when needed." 

Aisling wonders if Macha had such an item. They will check it out once they are home. Wanting to know more aisking asks Xiangin more questions. 

"Did your mother ever say what it was?" 

Xiangin sits back down and draws in the sand. 

"It is an ornate horn that is similar to our song. It's frequency is one only sirens can hear. Mother says it has water gems, pearls and is inlaid with mother of pearl and silver. Mother said normally a siren can find treasure immediately without even trying. 

That since the horn was meant for us we would know where it is once we were close. Unless a fallen one or the Father has it that their power would be able to conceal it. So most likely the fallen one has it hidden and protected. Mother was worried that the fallen one would use the horn to call us to our deaths. " Xiangin looks sadly at Aisling. Aisling takes her hand and tries to reassure her. 

"We defeated the fallen one in our town, but she had used powerful magic to conceal what she was. The child Crystal is her granddaughter, she will be able to help us find it if she had it . " 

Xiangin looks at Aisling in surprise. 

"The grown up child has three blood lines of immortal ones . That is why she is so strong and has such an old soul aura about her. " 

Aisling sighs and answrs. 

"Yes, that is a source of worry for us. Morrigan even bound her gift but she still is able to access some of her powers. We worry how strong she will be when her gifts are unbound. That will be a while into the future for now we are trying to teach her control. So she doesn't rush into danger." 

Aisling stands and brushes the sand off. Reaching her hand out to Xiangin. 

"Shall we head back , it will be time for me to feed the twins. Then it will be time to get them to bed. I'm more at ease now that we had a talk, I was worried about how you felt with so many of us. I know that we can be hard to deal with. I think you will fit in nicely once you get to know all of us. With your looks we could even say you are Asian like auntie HeJin if anyone asks. " Xiangin nods and the two women head back to the house. Xiangin feeling much better about being with Dude. Knowing his family is willing to accept her is a good start.
