56 Chapter 56 : Revelation

"Her name is Freya "

Usui's words echoed inside the room and a pin drop silence fell upon them.

"Hahaha... Why does that name sound so familiar?" One of the guards chuckled restlessly.

Another guard laughed, "You are right. For one second I thought he was mentioning our thunder squad general, Freya."

Usui nodded his head seriously, "You guessed right. I was indeed talking about her."

"Huh?"

The room fell yet again into a deep silence.

Zelal cried in his mind, 'Brother, you just had to drop a bomb before you leave.'

He looked sideways, carefully at Liz, who had her cheeks puffed up. Her face looked red like a ripe tomato. He misunderstood her actions and thought that she was so furious at his brother for falling for her friend.

But he was so wrong.

After some seconds, a delicate voice inquired, "Sister Freya? Big bro, do you mean to say the person you love is Sister Freya?"

Usui looked at the little guy who had a huge smile on his face and looked at him expectantly.

Confused, Usui nodded his head. Instantly, the little guy laughed and hugged his big brother happily.

'Little Prince, do you have to show your emotions so openly?' the people present there cried in their hearts.

"What?" Hazel finally recovered her voice. The moment Freya escaped from his lips, she fell in a deep trance.

"Fr-Freya?"

She looked startled at his confession. It was amusing for Usui to watch the princess reveal a restless expression. But he couldn't understand why it was so hard for them to believe his words.

Usui knitted his brows in confusion.

"Pfft!"

Liz couldn't help but burst out laughing. She was holding it in for so long that her face flushed in red. She couldn't help but fail in controlling her emotions.

Tears started escaping from her eyes when she finally managed to catch her breath. She inhaled deeply before her eyes travelled to the two people who were gawking at her.

Liz coughed as she recomposed herself and asked slowly, "So, you rejected our beautiful princess because you fell in love with Freya, our general?"

Usui rubbed the space between his eyebrows and asked exhaustedly, "Why do you all recite the same question in various ways? I will just tell it to you for the last and final time. Yes, I rejected your princess because I fell in love with Freya. To be more honest, Freya was more interesting to me than your beloved princess."

A deafening silence fell upon all of them after hearing his confession. Usui expected them to curse him for defaming their princess but the sudden silence surprised him.

Usui shifted his eyes to Hazel, who stood there stunned at his confession. For some reason, his eyes softened as he added, "I meant no offence by those words."

Hazel asked in a low voice, "Why?"

"Hmm?"

Hazel looked straight in his eyes and asked seriously, "Why is it Freya?"

That question surprised Usui. Right, he never thought why her even when he had come into contact with many beautiful princesses like the one before him.

What was it? Was it her enchanting eyes which pulled him deeper or her indifferent gaze?

Usui rubbed his chin as he thought hard. Surprised by his gestures, Hazel calmed her thumping heart which was beating fast for unknown reasons, was it because of excitement or anxiety?

Seeing that he was quiet for some seconds, Hazel lowered her gaze and apologised, "Sorry. It's not my place to ask. I will take my leave now."

Hazel turned around to leave when his next words paused her steps.

"Well, I don't know what it is... Maybe because she is full of secrets waiting to be disclosed. Because those ocean blue eyes looked at me for the person I am. Because she values her people more than her life. Because she is the first one to help out as she did in the market. Because she was ready to give her life for the people, like the war before. The way she would die rather than fail to protect her people. "

A smile made its way to his face as he recounted each and every action she had done in his presence.

"Or maybe its because her beautiful eyes filled with sorrow spoke a million words behind that mask." He mumbled softly.

Usui glanced up and saw Liz stare at him astonished. He glanced to his left and saw his brother gape at him. His eyes shifted back to Hazel who had her back to him. His eyes slowly travelled to her hands which was clutching her dress tightly.

He figured his words might be rude as no princess liked being compared to a general. As he was about to apologize, he heard her mumble in low voice, "I see. Thank you." And she walked out leaving Usui to stare at her back with his emotions in turmoil.

'Thank you? Why?'

But he was brought back to reality when he realised the guards have evacuated except for Liz and Rin. He looked at Liz who was staring at him deeply.

He raised his brows which made her smile at him. She lifted prince Rin and made her way out leaving behind so many unanswered questions for Usui.

....

Hazel marched directly into her room and went straight towards her window. She flung it open before letting out her breath which she held in for God knows how long.

Her sudden action quite surprised the people inside the room. They watched her inhale and exhale deeply.

Jinha asked curiously, "What's wrong?"

Hazel turned towards her friend's curious gazes and shook her head while breathing out exasperatedly.

Soon, the door was opened again and sounds of laughter were heard. Everyone turned towards Liz and Rin who were busy laughing and chatting.

They stopped it and turned towards the crowd who were looking at them with questions written all over their faces. Rin nudged her shoulder indicating her to let him down. Liz obliged and let him down.

The little prince rushed towards his sister and hugged her.

Feeling the weight on her legs, she looked down to see her brother smiling at her. She sighed before she knelt down and hugged the squishy ball in her arms.

"What's wrong with her?" Zeno asked Liz.

The question brought back memories to Liz that she started laughing. Everyone looked at each other before turning their gazes at the two ladies.

Liz gasped for air as she asked, "Aren't you going to tell them, Freya?"
