58 Chapter 58: Can you win her over?

Liz asked as soon as she saw Jinha leave Hazel's room.

"Do you think she will be okay?"

Jinha glanced at her and shrugged.

"All we can hope is to be there for her when she is ready to take the first step."

Liz nodded before she sighed again, "But I was really surprised when Usui just declared his love for Freya. Boy! He would be so stunned when he knows he rejected the girl he loves."

Liz laughed out loud thinking about the future.

"He just rejected the easy way out to get her."

Jinha laughed, "Haha... It would be amusing to watch your reaction when something similar happens to you."

Liz stopped laughing and frowned, "What similar? There's no one interested in me. Even if there was.." she smirked evilly, "I would break that guy's mouth before he could even talk."

Zeno and Hak looked at each other before they jointly looked at Jinha. Jinha gawked at Liz and thought whether all the woman were dense or not.

He shook his head before making his move out. He lighted a candle for Zelal in his heart.

....

Heaven's restaurant.

The restaurant was buzzing in laughter and noise with jars clanging against each other. Waiters rushed towards each table with dishes on their hands. There were a few people quarrelling against each other in one corner of the floor. The liveness of the night was actually been glimpsed in the restaurant.

Amongst the crowd, on the second floor where high officials are only allowed were relatively quiet compared to the boisterous atmosphere downstairs.

At one table, which was quite near to the stairs sat four people. The table allowed them to view the people entering and exiting the restaurant.

Jinha munched on a bun as he kept his eye on the entrance. When his eyes finally landed on the familiar figure, he looked away as he waited for the person to come up.

Soon they heard a panting voice, "Why is she not here with you?"

Jinha turned to look at Usui calmly who had disappointment written all over his face. He noticed his clothes were slightly sticking to his body.

"Did you just run here?" he asked amused.

Usui ignored him and took a gulp of water from the extra cup and sat down.

"Brother...Brother..." Zelal climbed the stairs and rushed towards them whilst panting. He gasped, "Finally caught you."

He dropped on the chair next to his brother catching his breath. He coughed as he said, "Give me a heads up the next time you plan to make a move."

Zelal couldn't believe his brother who appeared to be calm throughout the day, got excited the moment he said that the thunder squad members were dining out. Before he could finish his sentence, his brother darted past him.

"Tch! So desperate." Jinha smirked as he emptied the glass in one gulp.

Zelal glared at him before turning to look at Usui who had his eyes searching for someone in the crowd.

He couldn't help but sigh looking at his brother.

After looking for some time, he finally realised Freya didn't show up. So he asked the group, "Where is she?"

Hak laughed, "Why so anxious, loverboy?"

Usui demanded, "Where is she?"

"Who are you looking for? Hazel or Freya?" Zeno asked as he noticed a slim figure walking towards them through the crowd.

"Why would I look for the princess? I want to know where Freya is."

"Well, sorry to disappoint you then."

A soft voice rang behind Usui. Widening his eyes, he turned around to find Hazel smiling at him.

Usui chuckled uneasily. For some reason, even though Hazel was smiling at him, the smile didn't reach her eyes. It was like she was deliberately being distant with him. This thought made his heartache for some reason.

He frowned confused by his reaction and looked at the princess who sat beside Jinha. 'Why would my emotions be affected by Hazel?'

Feeling his gaze linger on her, she reluctantly turned towards him and told, "I heard you were searching for Freya."

"Ah! yes... I leave tomorrow. I just wanted to tell her about my feelings before I leave."

Hazel hid her expression by chewing on a bun as she bounced her head.

The table fell silent as everyone ate the food and drank the wine.

Suddenly Zeno asked Usui, "What would you do if she rejects you?"

Usui looked at the calm guy and declared, "I will wait for her to return my feelings."

Hazel choked on her drink and coughed.

Usui handed a cup of water to her and asked, "Are you okay?"

Hazel rubbed her chest and drank from the cup. 'Wait? Is he crazy?'

Jinha teased her, "Wow! did you guys actually share an indirect kiss."

Puzzled both of them turned to Jinha and saw his eyes looking at the cup she was holding. Hazel followed his gaze and realised that it was from Usui's cup that she drank.

Hazel looked at Usui, who looked at her. After a second, both of their faces flushed as they turned away their gaze.

Amused by their actions, laughter arose from the table.

After some seconds, Hak asked curiously, "So you will wait even if takes you years, decades?"

Usui looked up and tilted his head. He nodded his head, "I don't have anything else to do anyway other than wait. Do you have any other idea?"

Suddenly Liz looked at Hazel for a moment and changed the topic, "Why did you say her eyes were filled with sorrow?"

Hazel turned to look at Liz who smiled at her before gazing at Usui.

Usui shrugged, "That's what I see when looking into her eyes. Hidden pain, sorrow looking for some kind of relief."

Hazel's hand holding on the cup trembled slightly. Jinha casually laid back on his seat and held her hand. He tightened his hold on her, reassuring her.

Liz's eyes wandered to the crowd and said, "Hmm... I understand."

"Do you know why she has sadness so deep in her heart?"

Before Liz could open her mouth, Usui corrected himself, " Forget it... It's her story. If she wants me to know, she would tell it to me."

Her eyes shifted back to the guy who looked strong but his hands exposed his worries.

She thought, 'Maybe he can help her overcome it.'

While she was immersed in her thoughts, she failed to realise someone else's gaze on her right from the start.

Hak raised his eyebrow at Zelal who was peeking at her time to time. He couldn't help but slap his forehead.

'Do these two brothers really plan to court these two monster ladies?'

Zeno titled his head while his one hand tapped on the table, "Aren't you a little too confident? You think you can win her over?"

Usui looked straight at him and answered seriously, "I can only try. It depends on her too."

"So you would stop if she doesn't reciprocate your feelings?" Jinha leaned forward curiously.

Hazel's ears perked up and looked at Usui.

He looked confusedly at Jinha, "When did I say that I would stop?"

"Then what did you mean by it depends on her."

"Well, it does depend on her if she wanted to start a relationship. But just because she doesn't reciprocate, it doesn't necessarily mean that I have to stop. I will try to win her over until she marries.." Usui's voice dropped when he arrived at the last sentence.

He emptied his cup the next second and muttered, "If she finds another person, I will ruin that bastard's ability and see if he has the guts to marry her."

A moment of silence enclosed them and Usui realised that he said the last statement out loud. He looked up and saw many wide eyes stare at him. He looked at Hazel who was gawking at him while holding a cup on one hand.

He laughed awkward before turning to another cup of wine.

Jinha laughed as he provoked him, "You need to have the ability to ruin that person's ability."

Usui glared at him, "She's mine."

"Not yet, lover boy."

"She will be... eventually." Usui's face darkened further.

"Let's discuss this when you are at least close to that step," Jinha smirked.

Usui huffed before turning his head away and immersed in drinks.

He failed to see Hazel's expression when he declared his stand. Hazel cupped her chin as she stared at him in sadness.

'I hope you can forget me.'
