112 Chapter 112: Koala bear

They quickly looked at each other before following him.

Loki rushed in with a frantic expression and his eyes narrowed upon seeing the interior of the house.

He ignored all the bloody marks as he shouted frantically, "Stella!!"

His eyes swiftly turned towards a direction as he moved further inside. His eyes widened when he saw Stella running flusteredly towards him as if a ghost was chasing her.

He saw her eyes widen in hope when her eyes landed on him. Stella ran towards her savior and jumped on him stunning Loki. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she murmured, "Thank God, you are here."

Loki knitted his brows and looked behind her for the potential enemy but he frowned when no one came out.

Suddenly he heard gasps as he turned around with the koala hanging on him tight. His lips twitched when he saw Hazel and the rest look at him bewilderedly.

They raised their eyebrows at Loki making him shrug which was quite difficult for him to do with Stella hugging him tightly. She had her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms around his neck. She buried her head under his shoulder blades and kept whimpering, "Ghost... there was one... it was trying to attack me."

Loki awkwardly raised his hand as he patted her back and asked gently, "Where is it?"

Liz looked taken aback when she saw the gentle expression on Loki's face. She inched towards Hazel with her lips twitching and asked, "Is that our Loki?"

Hazel looked at her and nodded her head.

Liz squinted her eyes at the pair as she mumbled, "Really? Are you sure?"

Hazel bit her lips as she slowly shook her head. The girls looked at each other before turning to look at Loki.

Stella kept shrieking, "A ghost... ghost... there" and pointed her shaky finger in one direction.

Everyone looked at the table she was pointing at with a frown. There was nothing there...

Hazel raised her hand as she noticed the bright blood at the corner of the table. She looked at the rest with her finger on her lips and gestured towards the corner.

Usui had his eyes locked on Stella from the start. He ignored the table and moved towards the pair. Loki knitted his brows when he saw Usui stop in front of her. He clenched his hand into a fist as he watched Usui sigh.

"I'm sorry for her actions. You can let her go now, I can take care of her."

Instantly Loki's face darkened when he heard him apologize for her.

'Who the hell is he to apologize for her?'

But, both of them didn't expect Stella's actions as she tightened her hold around Loki and buried her head under his neck. She tightened her legs around his waist and had Loki in a tight grip.

Usui looked shocked for a minute before he closed his eyes. He looked at Loki but before he could open his mouth, he heard him say, "Let her be. She would come down when she's ready."

Even though he was confused by his words, Usui nodded as that was the only thing they could do.

Loki watched Usui turn around towards the rest with a small smile on his face. He had to stop himself from grinning like an idiot. He glanced down at Stella who was still murmuring, "Ghost..ghost."

He chuckled softly and slowly wrapped his hand around her petite waist. He held her and lifted Stella to a more comfortable position. He almost lost it when he felt her tighten her hold around his neck.

He wanted to inhale the flowery fragrance from her silver hair but soon decided against it. He looked away from her and focused on the table. His face shifted when his eyes locked onto the table. He tightened his hold around her as he looked at the table.

Hazel approached the table quietly as she signaled everyone to be ready with their weapons. Jinha suddenly went forward and slowly clasped the table without her needing to explain.

Hazel smiled gratefully at him making Usui grimace. She unsheathed her sword and looked at Jinha who was prepared to haul the table away from the wall.

Nodding their heads, they prepared to take action.

Detecting the silence around her, Stella raised her head from his shoulder and saw them surrounding the table. Her eyes widened as she opened her mouth to warn them, "Be careful..."

Before she could complete her words, she saw them act together. In the count of three, Jinha hauled the table away from the wall and Hazel raised her sword to attack the demon. But to their surprise, they saw no demon instead there laid a boy looking at them in fear.

Hazel lowered her sword stunned which made the kid narrow his eyes. The little kid suddenly ran towards Hazel and slashed her arm. Hazel looked stunned as she looked at the blood oozing out from her arm.

" of the cuts" Stella continued.

Hazel looked away from her injury to the little boy who looked the same age as her little brother. The boy was glaring at her with tears and snots all over his face. The boy was holding a piece of glass in his injured hand and looked at Hazel vigilantly.

Hazel knitted her brows when her eyes landed on the deep wound on his chubby hand. Her eyes shifted towards his eyes which was filled in fear.

The boy growled, "Stay away from us, demons."

"Hazel !!"

Seeing that someone was moving towards him, the boy swished his glass here and there making his blood drip towards the ground profusely.

The child bellowed, "Stay away!!!"

Hazel glanced at her friends warning them to stay put. Her eyes moved towards the child who was backing away towards the table. She knitted her brows when she saw the child stand protectively near a pool of blood.

She could vaguely figure which was hidden deep in the table. Only the blood was proof that there was someone with him.

Hazel knelt to the kid's level and watched as the boy's eyes followed her. She smiled gently, "Don't be scared.. we are here to save you."

The little guy pressed his body towards the corner with his eyes looking at her warily like a scared cat.

Hazel patiently stretched her hand as she softly said, "You are safe now.... your sister is safe now. Your mother sent us here to save you."

She saw the kid's eyes waver a little when he heard the word mother. The kid hesitantly looked at her as he confirmed, "Mama, sent you here?"

She nodded her head eagerly and smiled, "Yes, your mama wanted me to help you and protect you but I was a little late to reach."

The little kid cried, "But the demons are out there...Mama told us to stay here till they come for us."

Hazel's eyes wavered slightly hearing the small child's words. She could understand that their mother sacrificed her life to save her babies from the bloody fingerprint on the table.

Hazel smiled as she comforted him, "We have defeated the demons. It is safe now."

The little kid skeptically looked at her and said, "Then why are Mama and Papa not here?"

Hazel gulped as she looked at the kid. She mustered a small smile as she said, "Mama and Papa are waiting for you at my house. They were injured so they asked me to come and get you."

The little kid finally straightened his body and gazed at her. On seeing that the person was waiting for him patiently with her hand stretched out. The boy bit his lips as he stepped out slowly. His body was constantly shivering as he inched out of the table.

He froze when he saw many people inside his house. His eyes widened in fear as he staggered a step behind. Noticing this, Hazel said gently, "It is okay... these are my friends. They won't harm you."

The little boy pursed his lips as he looked at the hand he was being offered. His eyes shifted towards those gentle emerald eyes. Looking at the beautiful sister in front of him, he slowly stretched out his chubby hand and touched Hazel.

Hazel smiled widely when she saw the small chubby hand in hers. She looked at him and closed her palm and held the child's hand tightly. The boy's eyes glistened as he went closer to Hazel and hugged her.

Hazel's eyes trembled as she wrapped the small child in her arms. The boy smiled but soon his face froze when he hurriedly tugged her towards the table saying, "Please help my sister."

The boy looked at the figure who slowly lifted his sister from the table. Hazel knitted her brows when she saw a wound on the girl's body. Her lips were pale and her eyes were closed tightly.

Jinha hurriedly moved to place her on the table. Liz and Zeno quickly cleaned the table and made space for the child. Their faces were scrunched when they saw the wound on the small girl who was barely breathing.

Stella looked at the kids in horror.

"How cruel..."

Loki looked at the koala in his arms and said softly, "Yeah"

Stella froze as she turned around robotically. Her eyes widened when she saw his side face much closer to hers. Realizing the close position she was in, she let go of her hold flustered.

Loki wasn't expecting her to loosen her hold, so he was startled when he felt his warmth missing and a soft thud ring in his ears.

He glanced down saw Stella rubbing her back in pain. Sensing his gaze, she looked at him and said awkwardly, "Oops !!"
