126 Chapter 126: Hezekiah -2

'Her eyes were pretty'

Hazel curled herself into a ball inside the basket and waited for Fred to let her down so that she can finally explore the city. Minutes passed, and the pair had no intention of stopping.

Hazel bit her lips as she was on the verge of exploding from inside the basket, scaring the living daylights out of them when finally she felt herself come to a stop. Her eyes brightened excitedly when she heard Delia say, "I can take over from here. Thank you for helping me, Fred."

Fred blushed and scratched his head nervously, "No..No... it's okay... Umm.. well, if you are okay, do you mind having dinner with me sometime?"

Delia tilted her head and knitted her brows, "Dinner?"

Fred blushed deeper and nodded her head eagerly.

Hazel's lips twitched inside the basket. She didn't have to see to know how Delia would react. Like she thought, Delia, shrugged with a smile, "Sure. Let me know when you are free."

Hazel slapped her forehead as she thought of how could an adult miss all those hints when she could feel his desperation. She pitied Fred.

Fred let out a breath in relief but he didn't know how to feel when he realized that she still didn't get what he meant. He shook his head laughing before waving at her.

Delia waited for him to leave before she lifted the box making her eyes jump out of her eye socket. She groaned when she tried to juggle the heavy basket in her arms. She looked at the basket and thought how strong was he to carry it all over here without a single struggle.

Delia managed to hold the box in her arms and mumbled, "Phew!! Why is this basket heavy?"

Knitting her brows, she shook her head and entered the shop in front of her. Right upon entering, she called out, "Old man, I'm back."

"Delia..." the old man greeted her cheerfully when he saw her bringing the basket to the table. He curled his lips when he saw her place the basket with a soft thud.

The Old man asked, "Looks like you have quite a few things this time."

Delia wiped away her sweat and said as she was opening the lid. Hazel squeezed her eyes shut upon the revelation when she heard a gasp making her peek at her.

Delia was staring blankly at the Princess who was cuddled within her clothes. She gulped when she thought of the furious royal family and her hand shook.

The old man nervously held her shoulder and asked, "Delia dear, are you alright?"

Delia turned to him slowly with her body slightly trembling and nodded. She nervously gulped and closed the lid before anyone would see and said urgently, "I'm sorry Old man, I will come by later."

Without waiting for his reply, Delia snatched the basket and left through the door hurriedly making the old man sighed, "She could have just given it to me now."

Delia looked up and saw a few people look at her which made her smile nervously. She cursed inside her mind as she rushed into an alley and opened the lid. She almost lost it when she saw the Princess smile guiltily.

"Princess, do you hate me so much? Why do you have to endanger my life?"

Hazel pouted and saw Delia mumbling worriedly, "The crown prince would kill me"

Hazel stretched herself and shook her head, "Don't worry Delia... I will talk to big brother. You will be safe"

Delia nodded gratefully and urged the Princess, "Come on, Princess. Hurry in, I will take you back to the kingdom. It would be good if you return without alerting the Crown Prince."

Hazel stepped back and looked at her weirdly, "Delia, are you kidding? This is my chance to explore the city."

Her eyes widened and lips trembled when she said, "But...But... Princess, I don't have any guard with me. I won't be able to protect you."

Hazel smiled, "That's exactly why I want to explore now. No guards and more freedom."

Delia looked at the ten-year-old and said, "Princess -"

Hazel didn't let her continue as she stepped out of the alley making Delia's heart stop beating. She stood up swaying on her feet and made up her decision as she grabbed the basket and hurried towards the Princess.

Delia exhaled heavily as she caught her hand and held her tightly. She furrowed her brows as her brains started working to put together a plan.

She looked down at the child and mumbled sternly, "Princess, we are going to have to hide your status. So if anyone asks, you are my niece Freya who came to visit me from North city. Okay?"

Hazel nodded her head making Delia relax slightly.

'I'm sorry, Princess but you would have to address me as your aunt just for today."

Hazel giggled, "Aunt Delia" making a smile grace Delia's face.

Hazel looked around excitedly and ooh'd and awe'd at every little thing she saw making Delia crack a smile.

"Aunt Delia, I never knew the city was so entertaining" Hazel mumbled as she watched a guy play with fire sticks making the passerby gape at him.

She smiled brightly at her sudden exposure but frowned slightly when she felt a curious gaze on her. Hazel looked around and noticed no one making her frown deeper.

Her sight fell upon the bunch of kids playing by the stalls. But what made her stop was those pretty chocolate brown eyes who was looking at her with a glint of joy on her face.

Hazel looked right back at her and finally noticed her fully.

She was a small girl around her age but taller than her and had black curls. Her almond-shaped eyes were smiling at her and when the girl noticed her stare, she winked at her.
