162 Chapter 162: Fighting!

Zelal's battle instinct sharpened as he caught a whiff of danger. He immediately extracted himself from his position. The black aura missed him but quickly changed its course to catch Zelal again. 

Zelal quickly controlled his power to conjure another shield. The earth bent around him and received the black mist attack. However, Usui didn't give Zelal a chance to breathe as he had suddenly come from above him.

Usui activated the sword's curse before he slammed it against the rock. The deathly miasma instantly corroded the shield, melting the barrier at a speed that was visible to the naked eyes. In a matter of seconds, Zelal was exposed again.

Clenching his jaw, Zelal jumped back and hurriedly moved to Stella's side. He used his last energy to cast another barrier around him and Stella. But, his power was put to shame as the accursed sword bellowed, summoning dozens of reapers. The troops of death charged towards Zelal and destroyed his earth shield in one massive attack before disappearing into thin air.

Both Zelal and Stella's pupils trembled at the demon strolling leisurely towards them. Zelal looked down and met Stella's lifeless complexion. She smiled bitterly before her eyes froze at the demon staring down at them. Zelal who noticed the change turned up to see Usui as well.

"I told you. It's useless to fight back," Usui's lips curled up sinisterly. 

Zelal clenched his grip on the sword and immediately swung it to his brother's neck. But, the black mist appeared and slapped it away. Then, before he could react, Usui grabbed him by the neck. He lifted Zelal from the ground.

"So weak…"

Usui threw him aside after that as if getting rid of the trash. Zelal crashed against the boulder and immediately vomited blood. 

'Fuck!' he cursed inwardly. 'Whatever that thing is, its power is insane.'

He struggled to look up and the moment he raised his head, he saw Usui pointing his sword at Stella.

"She seems important," Usui jeered. 

"N-No…" Zelal felt his whole body stiffened. He shook his head in fear. "NO!!"

A golden aura shot out of Zelal out of anger. However, the momentum only lasted for a second before it disappeared. In the next second, Zelal vomited a mouthful of blood. He realized then. It was the end of the road.

He had completely run out of mana.

Usui guffawed at the human's vain struggle. "Oh dear, what an amusing sight. Humans are truly foolish creatures."

"It's okay," she muttered.

Usui frowned, not understanding what the human meant. He scoffed and proceeded to bring his sword down. She closed her eyes then while she heard Zelal's scream in the darkness.

'It's okay. It's not your fault, Zeke.'

His brows knitted together when he gazed at her calm attitude. Before he could shake off the weird feeling, lightning rumbled from the sky as it came descending down on his spot. Usui leaped out of the way and watched the dust covering the area. Dust swirled around for a minute before it lied down and a figure came into view. 

Usui's eyes widened slightly and his mouth parted in shock when he saw the lady staring back at him in shock. He saw the joy and happiness flash through her face before her expression crumbled.

Sparks sizzled through Hazel's body and her chest heaved as she gazed at the person she wanted to meet. But something about him, spelled danger making her frown visibly.

He looked different... Well, different was an understatement when he had one red eye and black lines all across his body. 

Hazel pursed her lips as she glanced at him before looking down and saw Stella let out a sigh. Stella looked at her and shook her head, "He isn't Usui"

Hazel knitted her brows in confusion and looked back at Usui who was staring at her in shock.

"Save him, Hazel"

Hazel inhaled before she bent down and looked at Stella's wounds. 

"I'm fine... just focus on him, Please?" 

She raised her eyes and nodded at Stella before popping a pill into her mouth. She threw the rest of the medicine behind her where a person expertly caught it. Stella's eyes drifted towards Loki who had a blackened expression, staring at Stella.

She mustered a smile which he ignored before he easily lifted her into his arms. 

Hazel smiled, "Apply that paste on her wounds. I would do the rest after I'm finished here."

Loki nodded without looking at her. His hands tightened around Stella as he held her close to him. Only he knew how his heart fell when he arrived and saw the sword tip above her. He didn't spare a glance at Usui, worried that he would go after him and burn him to the depths of hell.

Hazel watched as they left before nodding at Zelal, who was busy searching for someone. He pursed his lips when he couldn't find her. Looking at Stella who was being carried by her Prince, he too wished to have his Princess by his side. 

Alas! but all he had was a soldier, whom he helped earlier, reaching out to him. He stared at the soldier's hand for a minute before he shook his head.

"Gotta take what I get" 

Hazel turned towards Usui, finally facing him. She took in his changes but her eyes flickered when she saw the dumbfounded expression on his face. 

She called out hesitantly, "Usui?"

Usui blinked as he snapped out of his daze. He knitted his brows before his face softened. A warm smile crept towards his face as his entire demeanor emitted happiness.

"Freya?" he called out happily and walked towards her. 

How was she here? Wasn't she supposed to be at the academy?

He picked up his speed and reached her instantly. He lifted his hands and caressed her cheeks.

"Freya, what are you doing here?"

Hazel smiled when she saw his eyes returning to normal and the black lines began to disappear. She leaned towards his palm, shocking Usui, and said softly, "Hi"

Usui froze when he saw her looking at him happily. His eyes darted towards his palm, afraid whether he was dreaming or not. He thought she would shove him away like how she normally does. 

He looked at her and his gaze softened when he saw her rubbing her cheek on his palm. 

But, he frowned instantly when he felt a throbbing on his head. He let out a grunt as he moved back clutching his head. His vision flickered between normal and red as he moved back from Hazel.

Hazel knitted her brows and took a step forward but Usui shouted, "Freya, Don't come over"

She froze before her face darkened. Black lines appeared on his arms more so than before, his eyes flickered between red and golden brown making her grit her teeth. 

Suddenly a dark cold voice that would send chills spoke, "Damn! Your voice is really destructive"

He flashed in front of her and clutched her neck in his hand tightly. His eyes glowed red as black lines appeared along his face.

"So, let's just destroy that, alright?"

He tightened his hold around her neck making Hazel narrow her eyes. Sparks sizzled from her body and it attacked Usui making him loosen his grip. He moved back, clutching his hand whilst snarling at her.

Hazel asked coldly, "What are you?"

Usui laughed maniacally, "Me? I am the one who owns this body now."

Hazel smirked as blue fire hovered over her palms.

"Oh, really?"

She darted towards him with her palms stretched out. She summoned lightning and merged it with her fire and attacked him. Usui blocked the attack with his sword, before moving the sword down. His eyes widened slightly when he saw her dagger right in front of him, pointing towards his chest. 

Instantly his face altered as he asked flusteredly, "Freya, why are you attacking me?"

Hazel froze as she hurriedly said, "No, I wasn't attacking you" 

At that moment, Usui stretched his hand and held her hand before a wide smirk formed on his face.

"Foolish Creatures!!" 

Hazel's face changed by that time he had already thrown her against the ground. Hazel groaned as she looked up at Usui who raised his sword to stab her. She immediately backflipped and straightened her clothes.

She narrowed her eyes as the blue fire flared up around her body. How dare this demon... how dare this devil use his body?!

She appeared instantly in front of him and attacked him. They exchanged blows as her powers clashed against his darkness. Hazel pursed her lips when she slashed at his arm and red blood oozed out from the cut reminding her that it was Usui's body.

She pressed her lips into a thin line as she fought. She was being very careful in not attacking his vital points. But, Usui had none of it as he slashed her everywhere.
