203 Chapter 203: Sleeping Together

Her eyebrows furrowed when she didn't see him beside her.

'Where did he go?'

A shadow loomed over her making her smile widely. Quickly she turned around to greet him when she met with her mother's curious eyes.

Her smile froze and her eyes widened before she leaped out of the bed. Her hair fell over her face as she looked at her mother in shock.

'What was she doing here?'

Her eyes widened when she was reminded about Usui.

'Did she see him? Is that why he isn't near me now?'

She couldn't help but feel disappointed. She was looking forward to waking up to him but here he was, nowhere to be seen and his spot had turned cold. She reached out and touched the cold bed.

"Hazel?"

Shaking her thoughts away, Hazel suppressed her feelings and turned towards her mother with a warm smile.

"Good morning, Mother"

Merlene tilted her head, looking at her daughter before she smiled, "Good morning, dear"

"How come you are here so early in the morning, Mother?"

Merlene pouted, "Now I can't even visit my daughter?"

Hazel smiled as she shook her head.

"I was just worried whether you waited for a long time"

Merlene's gaze softened, "I don't mind watching my children sleep"

Hazel laughed. She removed the blankets off her body and stood up. She wanted a hot bath. But as soon as she proceeded to walk towards the washroom, Merlene cleared her throat.

Hazel paused before tilting her head, confused.

"What is it, Mother?"

Merlene pursed her lips as she looked up and asked softly, "I heard you didn't want to get married."

Hazel's smile fell as she hit herself mentally. How could she forget about the marriage so quickly? She only remembered his hands...

A glaring blush formed on her cheeks as she closed her eyes in embarrassment.

'When did I become so shameless?'

Merlene furrowed her brows when she saw her daughter's silly expression. She didn't need any other evidence to know what her silly child was thinking.

But what confused her was, if she loved him so much then why is she refusing marriage?

"Dear?"

Hazel looked at her mother with a goofy smile on her face while cupping her cheeks. On seeing her mother raise her eyebrows, she immediately let her hands down and brushed her hair awkwardly.

"Yes, mother"

Merlene sighed, "Is everything alright?"

Hazel nodded her head. A smile bloomed on her face as she answered, "Never been better"

Merlene held her hand and asked worriedly, "Then why did you reject the marriage?"

Hazel blinked, "I didn't reject it, Mother. I just pushed the date a little further"

Hazel widened her eyes and said hurriedly, "No..No... Mother, I just wanted to focus on getting stronger and protect Rin. I promised brother after all."

Merlene let out a sigh and patted her hand.

"Don't worry about that, dear. We will protect him well. You don't have to push your marriage because of this."

Hazel shook her head. She was well aware that after her marriage she would have to move to the Sun kingdom. So, she wanted to make sure her brother would be enthroned before she left.

Hazel gripped her mother's hand tight and said, "I need to do this, Mother" She could only do this for her brother.

Merlene sighed and nodded, understanding her completely.

"Well, then just tell me when you are ready. We will give you the most beautiful wedding in the world."

Hazel nodded. Merlene sighed as she cupped her cheek and said, "You have chosen the right person, dear. Usui would treat you well"

Hazel smiled, "I know, Mother"

Merlene hugged her daughter and said, "I wish to see you smile always, Hazel."

Chuckling, Hazel pulled back and joked, "That's hard... I have to return to the academy"

Merlene laughed along with her when suddenly loud booming noises echoed. Looking out of the window, they saw crackers and fireworks exploding in broad daylight.

Hazel furrowed her eyebrows and asked, "Is there some occasion I don't know about?"

Exhaling, Merlene rubbed her forehead and said, "No... it's just your father celebrating."

Hazel's brows twitched as her eyes gazed back at the not so visible fireworks.

"Ignore him and go clean yourself up," Merlene said as she pushed Hazel towards the washroom.

Hazel nodded and turned towards the washroom.

Merlene said, "Come to the dining table later. We will have breakfast together before you leave for your academy."

Hazel stretched her arms and nodded absentmindedly. When Merlene reached the doorknob, she heard Hazel's excited voice behind her ask, "Mother, could you not call Usui for breakfast?"

Merlene furrowed her brows as she asked confused, "What?"

Hazel widened her eyes, immediately realizing that her mother might misunderstand her words. She raised her hands and said, "No..No... I just want to surprise him in the morning."

Hazel smiled at her mother. She wanted to surprise him and interrogate him on leaving without letting her know. Her happiness came to an end when she heard her mother say, "Didn't he inform you about his leaving?"

Hazel widened her eyes as she asked in astonishment, "You know?"

Merlene tilted her head and nodded.

"Yeah, Lily personally told me"

Hazel blushed deeply.

How could he inform his parents that he was sleeping with her in the same room?

Gosh! she needs to crack his head open.

"Mother, I'm sorry." Hazel looked at her mother sadly. "I swear we didn't do anything other than sleeping together."

"What?" Merlene yelled.

Hazel stumbled back and asked meekly, "What?"

Merlene pointed her finger at Hazel and asked, "You guys were sleeping together?" She looked all around the room in shock.

Hazel's face drained in color as she faced the angry demoness. But quickly, confusion marred her face.

'If she doesn't know about last night, then what did she mean by leaving?'

Suddenly her heart began thumping frantically as a very strange thought crossed her mind.

'He wouldn't have, right?'

Hazel quickly looked at her shocked mother and asked urgently, "What did you mean by Usui left?"

Merlene turned around with a serious gaze and said, "Last night Lily came to me and said urgently that they had to leave. Usui left along with his parents and siblings in a hurry."

Knitting her brows, Merlene mumbled, "I thought he would have informed you"

As Merlene was mumbling, she didn't notice the shock on Hazel as she stumbled backward.

'He left?'
