“Mayor Lin had, unfortunately, teamed up with the black organization and was a threat to the safety of this colony. During our confrontation, he fled like a coward to avoid facing the consequences of his actions and thus, I struck him down.” Qin Feng said calmly.
Although he had expected such an outcome, Zheng Yang still felt a sense of dismay upon hearing Qin Feng’s words.
After all, it was only thirty minutes ago that he caught wind of Qin Feng’s clash with Lin Zheng at the Eagle Clubhouse.
It did not cross his mind that Lin Zheng would meet his demise in just half an hour’s time.
The chaos he had expected was nowhere to be found. And to think that he predicted that their fight would last till sunset. Qin Feng having walked out alive, let alone a mere thirty minutes after the fight had started, and emerging victorious, was completely left out of the initial equation.
And to think that an E-tier aptitude user would die so easily, like a match burning out, without even a sound.
It was only at this moment that Zheng Yang finally realised how terrifying Qin Feng was.
At the same time, there were thousands of question marks floating around in Zheng Yang’s mind.
“That’s right! Lin Zheng has committed too many sins to be let off so easily. Here on my side too, I have received a great deal of information about that crook. That man! If he were to be allowed to go on living, he would become an existential threat to our colony! You have done well, Mayor Qin!”
Zheng Yang had unconsciously changed the way he referred to Qin Feng after the whole incident.
Before this, his actions would only be ruled by emotions, which he severely lacked control over. He only thought that Qin Feng was just another lucky punk who had bluffed his way up the system.
And now, all those doubtful thoughts had completely faded away!
“I was merely executing my duty!” Qin Feng took credit without showing the slightest hint of embarrassment.
Protecting the colony was not on Qin Feng’s mind when he went into battle. No, it was only the people closest to him, people who he loved that he wanted to protect.
“Don’t be so courteous, Mayor Zheng!” Qin Feng replied.
The sound of people shuffling about could be heard on Zheng Yang’s end, reflecting how busy his side currently was.
While Lin Zheng’s death did not affect those on the bottom of the totem pole at his colony, the same could not be said for their higher-ups. The entire upper echelon was, in short, under a massive reshuffling process.
“Mayor Qin, I’ll deal with the situation here. You don’t need to worry about things on this end. Though, about your reward for this round…” Zheng Yang hesitated on whether or not he should continue, which he did but in a hushed voice. “With Lin Zheng down, the movement of rewards will inevitably become an extremely cumbersome task. How about I exchange this time’s reward with Fengli colony shares that I have bought? Of course, that alone will not suffice to compensate for what you have done. For that, I’ll reimburse you with Chengbei colony’s Commercial Street, how ’bout that?”
To discuss such matters over the communicator was rather outrageous!
Hearing Zheng Yang’s proposition, Qin Feng’s brows knitted. Still, the corners of his mouth were curled upward.
Zheng Yang was a clever man.
Too clever perhaps.
He was, in essence, buttering Qin Feng up.
Zheng Yang’s investment in Fengli colony was worth at least a billion yuan. And he let this go so effortlessly.
Lin Zheng indeed possessed a massive amount of funds but it would take a while before anyone could lay their hands on the money.
With that in mind, to hand over Fengli colony’s shares to Qin Feng at this specific moment was an extremely generous act.
Zheng Yang knew that since Fengli colony was under Qin Feng’s control, the man would undoubtedly hope to consolidate his power over the territory in a monopolizing fashion.
Moreover, fearing that Qin Feng would misunderstand that Zheng Yang was barring him out of Chengbei’s matters, he gladly offered a handful of commercial streets as a gift—an extravagant one at that.
“Well then, It’ll only be disrespectful of me to turn down such a generous offer!” Qin Feng responded.
Mayor Zheng burst out laughing. “You have my gratitude, Mayor Qin.”
“You’re welcome!”
The two showered each other with compliments. As Zheng Yang still needed to tend to urgent matters, it was not too long before their conversation came to an abrupt end.
Qin Feng smiled.
From now on, Fengli colony would be his and his alone!
“Bai Li! Pack up your clothes. We’ll be moving out tomorrow!”
Bai Li looked at Qin Feng doubtfully. “Why’s that?”
With the smile still on his face, he pinched hard on Bai Li’s pudgy little cheek.
“A grand villa’s waiting for us there! It’s got a garden, a yard and a swing. Oh yeah, It looks just like that princess’s mansion in that film I watched with you!”
Bai Li’s eyes glimmered. “Okay!” she replied while nodding enthusiastically.

That night, Qin Feng resumed the lotus position to gather up his body’s internal strength.
The five E-tier ancient warriors merely provided more layers to Qin Feng’s sea of clouds. After unleashing absorption, Qin Feng only managed to add two additional layers to his collection. It became obvious that an ancient warrior’s internal strength paled significantly in comparison to Qin Feng’s.
As of now, he was already at thirteen layers.
‘I think I’ll have to stop once I reach E-tier. I’m gonna have to go through so many more battles, or find some sort of divine item before I’m satisfied!’ Qin Feng thought to himself. Though, it did not affect him that much. After washing up, he proceeded to have a good night’s sleep.
It was a night without words. On the second day…
Bai Li woke up early to pack up her clothes. The hangers which held her clothes were even removed from the rack. Her favorite bedsheet, her favorite curtains and that tiny, intricately woven bag—they were all packed up neatly, ready to be taken away.
“Okay, that’s enough. No biggie, we’ll buy new things after settling down. No need for you to bring the entire place along!”
Qin Feng stopped Bai Li from gathering even more of her favorite items which seemed never-ending. Then, in a semi-dragging slash lifting motion, he brought her out of the door.
Shortly after, the luxurious hover limo left Chengbei colony for its destination, Fengli colony.
A new sight seemed to accompany each passing day at Fengli colony. It was now halfway through its construction process but the exclusive areas reserved for its mayor had already long been completed.
It was after yesterday’s incident did Qin Feng decide to move here.
Unlike other colonies, Fengli’s spatial stabilizing device was not located above its central square, and so, the heart of the colony was slightly offset in comparison to other places.
The center of Fengli colony was surprisingly sparsely populated, meaning that this place was not going to be the most prosperous region anytime in the future.
And yet, this place symbolised the extreme wealth disparity within the colony.
Zimu Mountains.
Right now, its original form was no longer visible. The stumpy mountains had been completely remodelled by the constructions that went up around it.
Smack on top of the mother mountain was a gorgeous-looking villa.
Qin Feng’s vehicle drove up the road that wound around the mountain. There were terrace houses at the foot of the mountain and halfway up, one could find individual villas with their own gardens. Of course, these all could not compete with the one found at the summit of the mountain.
One could rightfully call this a manor. A pearl-white half open arch greeted Qin Feng and leading up to the main building was a road laid with smooth, shining bricks that stretched a hundred meters out. On both sides of this road were a number of different trees and flowers.
Going down the road, one could observe a beautiful fountain, as if it was carved by God’s own hands. The building stood like a palace with a citadel that reached up toward the heavens.
“How about it? You like it?”
Bai Li was curious about everything. Naturally, after seeing the grand structure, she was extremely satisfied. “This house is so big! I think it’s even bigger than the Xin family’s!”
Qin Feng smiled. “To be honest, one only needs a bed to sleep at night. Though, with this large house, we’d be able to hide our deepest secrets without being exposed!”
“What secrets do you have?” Bai Li faced Qin Feng with a curious look on her face.
Qin Feng only responded with a smile.
He pulled Bai Li’s hand and led her up the citadel.
Standing there, they were able to get a bird’s eye view of the entire Fengli colony.
Though, the closest thing to them was Qin Feng’s back garden.
It was only a hundred meters wide and large trees were planted around it to make a wall-like structure. It seemed like it would be able to provide good shade against the stinging sunlight. However, through the canopy, one could vaguely make out a transparent isolation chamber.
Encased within it was nothing but pure black.
