I awake scared out of my mind from the nightmare. Once again, I had the nightmare of the memory from when my parents died.
I stretched and shook off the leaves that was matted onto my feline self. Then I continued on my way through the woods like I've been doing for the past 10 years. My stomach growled, reminding me that I need to eat. So I listened out to see if I could find food.
Once I heard what sounded like a wild buck not far away from where I was at, I quietly walked to where it was. Then there it was. A wild buck, fully grown, and weighing more than I. I got closer to the ground and crawled closer to the buck. Once I was barely 5 feet away, I lunged at it. The buck was quick and ran before I could dig my claws into it. The chase was on. Nothing was going to get between me and my prey.
It didn't take me long before I caught and killed the buck. I was currently eating my meal when I heard a stick snap. I perked my ears up and looked around frantically, looking to see whom or what made the sound and where it was coming from. Once I seen it was nothing, I went back to eating my wild buck. Well, that was until they came out and lunged at me.
What was I doing? Running. That's what I was doing. From what you ask me. From wolves. They've been chasing me for a while now.
The sound of the wolves' howls and the sight of two of them came into view. As one tried to jump onto me, I swerved and then climbed onto a tree. All the wolves surrounded the tree, growling and jumping up trying to get to me. One of the wolves jumped up high enough to the branch that I'm on. I hissed an clawed at him, hitting his snout. The wolf whimpered from the claw mark I left him and growled at me.
Then they all went quiet and looked behind them. I followed their gaze. That's when I seen him. The alpha of the pack in his intimidating wolf form. He growled at the other wolves, and they all left. The alpha shifted to his human form. and that's when I heard the one word come from him.
"MATE!"
He stared at me for what felt like hours but was only really a few seconds.
"Are you going to come down anytime soon?" he said in his alpha tone.
I blinked. Then inched my way down till I sat only a few feet away from him. I sniffed the air and caught a whiff of his scent. He smelled good, like really good. Behind his body wash, he smelled like the woods in autumn. The crisp air of fall with winter coming right behind. I could get used to this scent.
The alpha cleared his throat and smirked at me. He slowly walked up to me and squats down. I tried to ignore the fact that he was naked like the day he was born, and his junk was right where my eyes could see in every way. And let me tell you, he wasn't small. I looked at him and scooted closer to the tree. He sighed and walked closer to me. When he reached out at me, I jumped and climbed the tree high as can be.
I got to the highest branch that suited me and looked down. The alpha didn't seem to happy that his mate, me, just climbed a tree to get away. He looked up and sighed.
"You don't have to be afraid. I won't hurt you," he said.
I crawled a little more before hearing a crack come from behind. The branch I was on started to break. From the looks of it, he heard as well.
"Don't move. I'm going to get you down from there," he said as he started to climb the tree.
I did as I was told and stayed still as the branch slowly cracked more. Scared? Not really. Terrified? For sure. As the alpha got closer, the branch cracked more.
"Come here little one. It's okay. Everything will be okay as long as you listen carefully. Now, come to me and you will be safe," he told me as calmly as he could.
I slowly crawled to him, but it was too late. The branch broke off the tree and down I went. I fell quickly and landed on my back with a hard snap. The alpha jumped off the tree and ran to me. Last thing I heard from him was, "Don't go. Stay with me baby girl." Then it all went black.
