Chapter 400
[Chapter 400, let's go!!]
[This story is on its last arc, I hope I can give it a proper ending.]
King Shenten and his underlings walked into the province. People looked at them with confusion and strange gazes. They were confused why dozens of Beastmen were walking casually in the street.
They were used to seeing Beastmen and they knew how to mingle with them because Beastmen were good people as long as they didn't make them angry, particularly the female Beastmen. However, it was different if dozens of Beastmen with armor and were releasing suffocating pressure were walking on the road. That was indeed strange.
The Beastmen understood that they were causing a commotion. That's why they decided to pull out a bus from their expansion box. The car materialized. And all of them entered the vehicle.
However, each of them looked into one other. No one knows how to drive, because they didn't like complicated stuff like this.
"… I guess it's my job."
Kalman sighed and took the driving seat. He started asking himself why Patriarch and Lander were busy these days.
"Un."
King Shenten commended him and even the Knights and Elders sincerely said their gratitude. As for Captain James, he had a proud expression as if he was the one driving.
"Well, this is not bad."
Kalman was calmly steering the wheel until they reached the meeting place. Even though Cavite was better than the other cities, the sadness was still lingering that Kalman and the Beastmen were not enthusiastic to look around. After all, 1/3 of the Cavite was destroyed.
They were going to meet in the sports complex because almost two thousand people would attend this meeting. From the human up to the newest species Methuselah/Succubus, they were going to have a meeting to discuss the current state of the world and how they could protect it.
The sports complex was guarded by Hunters and the bus stopped in front of the place.
Just as they exited the bus, the Hunters started inspecting them just to make sure that they were not dangerous. Kalman looked around and confirmed that the others already arrived.
He saw the Dwarves walking into the sports complex while doing their best to hide their liquor in the disguise of mineral bottles. As for the Elves, it seemed that the Princess had come too.
"I can't believe that I will see all of them in this meeting. I guess this situation is really dangerous."
Kalman worked for the Hunter Association for years and he knew that these top brass didn't show their faces much in the meeting. Yet they were all here because of the threat of the Demon invasion.
The Hunters finished their inspection and let the Beastmen enter the gathering. King Shenten silently walked ahead and reached the meeting. They found that the meeting was just getting started.
Everyone in the meeting was studying each other. They found Miriam of the Eye next to the Saintess. They were surprised that the Saintess appeared to be a good person.
To be honest, this was the first time that they met this woman in person. Andromeda recently became famous.
After that, they confirmed that Chairman Renato and his assistant, Jose Pasodaro, were standing behind the two women. They were acting as guards.
Aside from that, they found some prominent people too. They knew that this meeting was important.
"… He's not here."
Miriam sighed while closing her eyes. She was looking for Kyle but she couldn't find him. This means that Kyle didn't leave the secret place where he was training together with thousand members of the Redemption. That was the only place that her Clairvoyance couldn't penetrate.
It was actually a problem because only Kyle could handle these people. He has the charisma and talent as a leader to convince them. Yet Kyle entrusted this job to Miriam and Andromeda, to be precise, to Andromeda the Saintess. He was confident that Andromeda could convince them.
That's why right now, Andromeda was the most nervous. She couldn't control her hands from shaking while looking at the delegates from different parts of the world. She clenched her fists, this was not the time to be afraid.
When almost all of the delegates had come, they started the meeting.
It was about the current state of the world and how they could stop the Demon invasion.
From the humans up to the Methuselahs, everyone acknowledged that they have to work together to live.
The Alliance was created. They didn't have a choice but to do so.
Their first goal was to create teleportation devices that connect to each other's countries. This was done so that the allied forces could quickly come if they needed help. Of course the devices would be guarded 24/7 and could only be used when they needed to.
"I, Princess Belle of the Elven Kingdom accepted this proposal."
The woman with long ears and silver hair stood up and showed her determination. She decided to show that she was serious so that the other leaders would be influenced.
Just as she expected, even the Dwarves easily agreed and signed the alliance. Then, the next to agree was none other than Andromeda. The Saintess erased her nervousness and showed a dignified appearance.
"As the Saintess and the leader, I accept."
It took some time but it seemed that Andromeda accepted her fate and became the stronghold of this province. She was now calling herself the Saintess.
Miriam and Chairman Renato who were next to Andromeda nodded their heads and smiled. At least the Saintess could be trusted in times like this.
When Andromeda announced her name, every one of the delegates looked at her. Some had confusion and curiosity while some were hiding their emotions. However, it was obvious that they wanted to meet the woman who was protecting this province even right now.
The high-rank Hunters could feel the transparent veil that was covering this province. Right now, mana was coming and going in a certain direction, towards the Saintess. She was housing a huge amount of mana.
Andromeda didn't avert her gaze and looked at them.
'He can look in their eyes without being afraid... I have to do this at least.'
She said to herself. Sometimes, inspiration was the best way to get motivated.
Princess Belle, who was looking at her, smiled in satisfaction. Andromeda's action was enough.
Princess Belle changed her sight towards the east, the direction where Mikael and his brother visited their parents' and grandparents' tombs.
'I want to go there. Sadly, I'm stuck in this place. Mikael will probably kill her... Well, not that it matters. No matter what his decision is, I will do my best to protect him.'
