"Twen put your head inside. Don't put it out like that" I scolded Twen as he had his head put out of window to enjoy the wind.
"But the wind is great Mommy" he said with a wide smile.
"Twen, listen to mommy, put your head in" I said sternly and he got his head in though he was still smiling.
"Which beach are we going Mommy?" he asked cheerfully
"Surprise" I said flashing a cheeky smile.
After Fred left for UK to study, I completely lost contact with him. I wonder if he has returned. Beach La Costa was filled with memories. It was quite the drive and was almost at the outskirts of the city.
It took almost two hour for me to reach. I saw there was quite some crowd to the path towards the beach so I had to park the car near a small hotel called 'Iguana'. Twen jumped out of the car and looked everywhere with an amazed eyes. I took out the backpack with the things I bought and was about to reach Twen when an old man with long goatee and thin sallow face came to me with a very greasy smile.
"Sir would you like a room?"
"Oh no! I just..." I began to refuse but was interrupted
"We have room with the best view of the Beach and we provide facilities regarding the stay of kids. We provide separate..."
"Sir. It's ok. I have a friend here" I interjected politely
"Aaahhhh I..."
"Where is the beach Mommy? I can't see it" Twen said suddenly appearing beside me
The man's flattering smile turned sour when he heard Twen call me 'mommy'. I have seen such expression before. Omegas are not received with respect. Most of the people's mentality is that Omegas are filth of society even if they do give birth to Alphas. I was very used to it, so, before Twen had to receive any burn't because of this, I picked him up in my arm and walked away
"We have to walk a bit to see it" I said walking with the crowd.
"I can see so many people. I feel like am top of the world" Twen cackled loudly
"Hahahaha... yes you are at the top of the world" I chuckled along
"I can see the beach. I can see the beach" he started moving excitedly on my arms
"Twen don't move so much, you'll fall down" I said holding him tightly.
We reached the beach. It had remained same as my memories. The long expanse of bluish green, the white waves hitting the sharp edged rocks and the foamy white water covering the golden sand in the shore. There were several people who were sun bathing, I could also see kids playing in the water, I saw a small troupe of young men and women playing beach volleyball. There were several new restaurants that had opened. I was looking round for Fred's dad's restaurant. But I couldn't see it. Maybe I have to stroll around a bit to see it.
I would have looked around but Twen nudged me, "Mummy lets go to the beach. I wanna bathe in the sea water" he said pulling my collar.
"Ok Ok. We will but first lets change and you must stay close to me ok?" I said, thinking to search for the resturant later
"Yes" he smiled
We went to the nearby stall which was lending swim clothes and shoes. There was a changing room, so I paid for using it and quickly changed to my shots and put one on Twen too. I put on some sunscreen on Twen and me and then we went to the sea. We played and bathe there for few hours. After which we both were very hungry, so we went to the nearby restaurant to eat. The restaurant wasn't big but it was spacious as it was not enclosed inside four walls. It only had a shade and tables and chairs arranged. There were plenty of customers crowding in front of the ordering area. I luckily got two seats empty and asked Twen to seat before standing among the crowd to order.
It took me more than 10 minutes to reach the counter.
"Yes sir what would like to order. Would you like to cool yourself with a drink? We have mocktails, juices, sodas, shakes and our special Coconut milk shake which we serve in an unripened coconut or would you like grab a snack? We have sandwich, fries, burgers, desserts..." the tall, bright eyed guy in the counter kept chanting the menu like some Buddhist mantra
"Well two orange juice and two corn and cheese sandwich" I ordered, looking at the large menu chart behind the man
"You got it sir" he said quickly making a receipt and giving me a token, "You have to give it in that second counter to get your food" he said
I got out of the crowd and went to the next counter. A tall guy with straw blond hair, golden brown eyes, tanned complexion wearing tee, shot and an apron received the token. But then our eyes met and he suddenly said
"To-Tony?"
I was surprised to hear my name from this guy. Did I know him? He didn't look familiar. I looked at him carefully before replying,
"Who- Do I know you?" I ended up saying
"You are Tony" the man said, his face cracking into a huge smile
Wait!
I know that smile? It can't be!! He doesn't look like him at all
"Fred" I said in surprise
"I knew it" he said with a cheerful look, "I can't believe it's you"
He jumped out of the counter and almost crushed me with bear hug lifting me up from the ground.
