Seeing that shocked expression, Liz realized that she had just spoken about this very important piece of information as if it was irrelevant.
In fact, she knew very well that this might be the thing that they were looking for. The only reason she had answered so nonchalantly was that she had been completely absorbed in her thoughts.
Now, she saw that that had led to this situation now, where the CEO was still staring at her.
"Sorry, my mind was elsewhere. I should have told this to you the moment I found out, as it might be what he wants us to find."
This made the CEO recover and nod before saying, "Good. I'll make some calls regarding it. Head to the restaurant that's straight ahead, I've made reservations for us. Tell them my name."
Without waiting for Liz to respond, Will immediately took out of his phone and started calling someone.
Understanding that he was probably checking up on this, Liz turned around and started walking forward.
Right now, she was thinking back again and again to Xander's expression when he had told them to find what he wanted. That, and the conversation she had just had where that man in a suit had said with certainty that he had seen that family with his own eyes.
So, Xander had a family which he smuggled back to Europe. Still, what could he need from them?
With a thought, Liz took out her tablet and opened one of the files about the Sylvex family.
In it, there was a report from a member who had said that there were no strict rules about marrying outside the family. Many did so, and the only rule that was enforced was that those who stood in contention for the position of the Head had to have at least one parent from the Sylvex family.
After she got to this point in the report, she looked up to see that she had reached the restaurant.
"Umm, reservation in the name of Mr. William Bradshaw."
The concierge at the desk smiled and said, "One moment, ma'am," before looking at his monitor.
After a few moments, Liz found herself seated in an isolated cabin.
Inside, there was a C-shaped sofa where there was only place for 2 people to sit. Besides, it looked like there would be very little distance between the two who chose to seat themselves here.
Even the table was small, making this one of the most unique and weird restaurant rooms that Liz had ever seen. Besides, the entire restaurant seemed to be filled with cabins like these.
Puzzled, she was just about to ask the waiter who had led her here whether she was in the correct place before she saw a paper with the words "Reserved for Mr. William Bradshaw" on the table.
Thinking that maybe this was the only one left, Liz just sat down and started to go through the files again while waiting for the CEO to arrive.
After a little while, she felt the need to go to the washroom and got up.
Outside the cabin, there was a corridor with a clear indication as to which direction to go to to get to the ladies' room.
This corridor also had the doors for the other cabins, but all of them were closed.
Yet, while she was on her way, one door which hadn't been locked properly swung open, revealing a startling sight that made Liz stop in her tracks.
This cabin was an exact replica of the one she had been sitting in till now. However, there was a couple inside where a blonde girl was sitting snugly on the lap of a young European man with her legs firmly entwined around his waist.
Both of their eyes were closed, as they were in the middle of a deep kiss with their mouths attached to each other. While Liz watched, their each sucked on the other's lips greedily while hugging each other tighter and tighter.
As if feeling her sight, the man looked up and saw her before extracting himself for a moment and saying something in French.
Shocked into action and feeling awkward because of being caught staring, Liz shakily walked on, realizing who these rooms were meant for.
At the other end of the corridor, she saw that the CEO had just walked in.
Just as she was about to retort angrily, she saw that he actually had a confused expression on his face.
"Why are you in this section of the restaurant? I reserved a room in a different one."
"The-the waiter led me here, and the table was reserved in your name."
Hearing the answer, the CEO looked at her for a few seconds with a bewildered expression on his face before it turned into one of deep annoyance.
"KEREN!", he said under his breath, while his sister who was in the conference room smiled smugly to herself.
