148 A Shot In The Dark

As Liz saw Will careening towards her in free fall, she instinctively reached forward and grabbed his shoulders, preventing him from falling down.

She couldn't really control his momentum even though her lithe body hid tremendous strength, so both of them tumbled to the floor, with Will on top of Liz.

Thankfully, the floor was covered with a very thick carpet, so there were no injuries.

However, this feeling of proximity reminded them both of what they had shared the day before, making them almost once again enter that world that only belonged.

Alas, Keren was there to stop them.

"You two, get a room! Or, the world is really progressive, just use that janitor room over there! I'll wait!"

Saying these words in a shrill voice that made both Will and Liz look at her with glares on their faces.

Yet, before they got up, she quickly walked away with a laugh that almost sounded like a cackle.

Getting up first, Will extended a hand to Liz before saying, "Sorry about Keren, she's…"

"Mischievous, I know. Don't you worry, I'll get her sometime."

She had just caught his hand to get up, and she was about to let it go to head to Keren, but he held on tight, looking into her eyes and smiling tight.

Once again, those lips were close to her, but they were in a very public place.

Was this how those teenagers felt when they got their first taste of the opposite sex? A yearning that felt like it could never be quenched?

For Liz, right now, it wasn't even sexual in nature. She just wanted to repeat that moment and feel him again, because she loved the way it made her feel.

No. I shouldn't feel like this, right? What would he think about me?

This question came into her mind, but it vanished when she glanced at the CEO and saw a similar expression of yearning on his face.

This made her grin wide and want to jump in the air, as there was nothing better than finding that someone reciprocated what she felt, and wanted the same things.

Yet, the fact still remained that this was a public place, so after a few seconds, Will did let go with what looked like slight regret on his face.

This made Liz feel proud, but she also decided to talk with him later about what had happened, and decide just what stage their relationship was in.

Dusting their clothes, Will and Liz were about to hold hands again when they were reminded of the culprit.

She had already headed to the exit of the hotel and was waiting for them there, looking towards them with an expression of pure mischief on her face.

However, Liz also saw happiness, as she knew that Keren was ecstatic that her brother had found someone after what had happened to him.

Wait…what had happened to him exactly, anyway?

She decided to ask that too later, as all she had were vague details.

Maybe…it was time to delve into more personal matters about themselves.

With many such swirling thoughts in her mind, she felt her hand being grasped by the CEO anyway, which made her breathe out and smile.

For some reason, whenever he did this, a sensation of relaxation would go through her body and mind, affirming the feeling that her hand belonged in his.

By now, they had held hands for a long time, but it still felt like the first time it had happened.

Will looked like it was normal for him now, but she could feel his pulse slightly quickening, which let her know that it wasn't as 'normal' as he made it look.

Walking to the exit together, Will was just about to say something.

Before he could, Keren asked "Done already?", her eyes wide open with an innocent expression on her face, as if what she was asking had no hidden meaning.

"…"

At a loss for words, Will just stared at Keren, who was about to laugh due to her victory again, but Liz came to his aid.

"We are, but what about you and Luke? You guys definitely didn't seem like you were done when we interrupted you in the restaurant. Who knows what that conversation might have continued to…"

As Liz teased in this way, to her surprise, Keren blushed slightly for the first time and seemed at a loss for words for a moment.

It was only a moment, but Liz noticed it.

"HAHA, I KNEW IT! I knew all that talk last night might have been fake!"

"I don't know what you're talking about. Ooh, look, the car's here."

Saying these words in a hurry, Keren scurried away to the car that had been waiting for 10 minutes already.

It was actually supposed to take the three of them, but the tires skidded as the car raced away, as if Keren had threatened the driver's life if he didn't leave right away.

In the dust that arose from the car, both Will and Liz stood side-by-side, staring at its tail end.

What…had just happened?

Will was the most affected, as this was the first time he was seeing his sister flustered in a long time.

It took a few moments, but after that, he turned to look at Liz, who similarly had an expression of surprise on her face.

"Luke and Keren? Really?", he asked, knowing what kind of men Keren usually preferred. This was so out of the norm that he couldn't believe it at all.

In response, Liz just shrugged.

She had just been shooting in the dark, so seeing it hit the target, she didn't know what to think.

It seemed that a talk was needed not just with Will, but with his sister too.

Seeing her shrug and frown with deep thought, Will understood that even she didn't know and took out his phone to call another car, while confirming that Keren wouldn't leave in the plane waiting for them.

After all, she had already hijacked their car, so he didn't put it past her that she could hijack the plane too.
