After grabbing a brown suit from the wardrobe he left the room with only his cell phone and the brown jacket. When he reached the stairs he met Lilian climbing the stairs with a tray in her hands.
"Boss, are you heading out?" Lilian asked before Jackson could get close to where she stood. "If yes then please have this soup before you leave...,"
"The damn soup can wait but not the issue at hand," Jackson said as he walked past the worried lady. When he reached the foot of the stairs, he paused and turned to stare at her.
"Lilian, how did you know I have a hangover?" Jackson asked giving Lilian suspicious glances.
"Were you perhaps still awake when I returned last night? If yes, then tell me how I got home last night?" Jackson said in a serious tone.
"Madam brought you home last night with the assistance of Max. Boss, don't you even recall that?" Lilian asked in confusion as she climbed down the stairs to meet her boss.
If Jasmine and Max brought me home then that means he knew what happened last night that I can't recall. Between Jane and Max, he is the best choice to ask what occurred last night. Jane will only tell lies if I confront her about it...
"Boss, are you alright?" Lilian cut his thoughts short. She did not know why but she could sense that something was wrong.
Apart from the fact that she saw their madam leaves the mansion abruptly, her boss right now looks sad and troubled. Like something happened between him and the madam which is why she left just when the soup she asked her to prepare was ready.
"I am fine and you can leave now...,"
"But what about the soup? Madam will scold me if she learns that I failed to take very good care of you," Lilian said in a terrified tone. Despite that she said this, Jackson refused to drink the soup but when she kept on insisting he must drink the soup, Jackson who wanted her gone from the sitting room had no other choice but to do what she wanted.
The moment Lilian left Jackson called Max. The guy who was getting ready to go to the office paused everything he was doing and answered his boss call.
"Good morning boss, how are you feeling...,"
"Paused whatever you want to say and tell me what the heck happened last night. I want to know even the tiniest details," Jackson cut short the concerned guy.
Max went ahead and narrated all that happened. He did not miss out on even the smallest details.
Jackson was left furious when he discovered what took place after he lose his consciousness. He could now understand why Jasmine was so furious with him.
"Are you sure nothing happened between me and Jane? Apart from getting drugged by her, I did not do anything indecent with her?" Jackson asked again just to be sure that Max said the right thing.
"Madam and I arrived just when she wanted to strip you. I never knew madam was a good fighter until last night. And boss I am sure Madam would have already skinned you alive if you had done something inappropriate with her....,"
"Shut up already! You talk too much for my liking," Jackson said before he disconnected the call.
There were absolutely no perfect words to describe his feelings right now. Even the words thrilled were too small to describe Jackson's feelings.
He leaned back on the couch and exhaled deeply.
"Thank goodness, she was only pulling a prank on me. I wouldn't have known how to face her if something had really happened between me and that cunning b*tch that parades herself as a saint. She is so despicable to want to do such a thing to me," Jackson thought with a clasped fist. He sat there for a few minutes staring into space and also rejoicing his narrow escape.
"I am sure she will scold me if I skip going to the office so let me freshen up and get ready for work. I know a better way for us to battle everything out," Jackson thought grinning. He stood up and approach the stairs.
Lilian came back a few minutes later to inform him that breakfast is served. She was surprised not to see Jackson where she left him.
Lilian went upstairs to check whether he was there. She was left even more surprised when there wasn't any response after knocking twice.
Since she didn't find him in his room, she went to his study to check upon him.
It was after she had checked everywhere in the mansion she saw him climbing down the stairs.
If he was in his room then why didn't he answer when I knocked on the door? He would have saved me the strength of searching the vast mansion for him if he had done that.
Lilian thought her eyes glued on the tall handsome man in green suits climbing down the stairs.
She could not help but confirm for the 1000th time that her boss looks devilishly handsome.
"Don't prepare dinner for us tonight," Jackson instructed before he majestically walked towards the entrance. He left as usual without waiting for Lilian's reply.
When Jackson reached the office the first desk he went to was Jane's desk. Everyone was surprised that he did not even enter his office first but none of them was gutsy enough to ask him why he was searching for the lady who called the office to take a sick leave some minutes ago.
She has such great luck because I don't even know what I would have done to her if she was present in the office today.
Jackson thought as he turned and strolled to his office. Max followed him closely. On reaching their office Jackson turned to face Max.
"Tell the finance department that for a year Jane's salary should be deducted that is if she will even be able to work here for a year. Also no incentives, monthly bonuses or even end of the year bonus for her. She is not allowed any leave for six months...,"
