Chapter 164 - What Really Happened Between Cat And Jeff

"Only your cellphone's flashlight won't be able to brighten up the room so let's just use mine too. Besides, there isn't a network here so conserving the battery of the phone is meaningless," Jeff said in a serious tone before he pulled Catherine closer. At that moment, he regretted not wearing his suit that day. If he had done that he would have taken it off and give it to her.

"Catherine, this is why I told you to dry your hair instead but you wouldn't listen to me, now look at the state you are in because of your stubbornness," Jeff who was lost at what to do to make Catherine warm said as he wrapped his right hand around her body.

"You are a prince, your body isn't accustomed to harsh conditions, unlike mine. And I am just feeling a little cold, I won't die from it so stop blaming yourself for what happened. It was my choice," The now paled Catherine said as she raises her gaze and stares at his worried face. She manages to force on a smile.

"Catherine, I am no prince so stop calling me that. My family only has a little money than yours so stop referring to me as prince ok because I am not from a royal family?" Jeff scolded as he stares at her.

"Your family only have a little money than mine, are you kidding me, Young Master Darwin?" Catherine forced herself to talk despite the difficulty. If she had known that it would rain she wouldn't have worn such lights clothes that she is wearing.

"Catherine, my family is indeed rich but we are not a royal family so why do you always try to speak as if our world is so different...,"

"It is true that our world is far apart don't you know that? My dad only has a small martial art Academy while your family has businesses and companies all over the world so isn't our world so different?" Catherine asked as she stares into his brown eyes. Although she couldn't see his eyes properly, she could guess what was going through his mind.

"Is this why you rejected me? Does my family's wealth and influence terrify you? You are not the type to get scared so easily...,"

"Which poor girl in this world won't get terrified just by thinking about...,"

"But I don't care about your identity," Jeff said sternly.

"You don't care but I do," Catherine said.

"You are being unfair to me Catherine. Nobody chooses the family he wants to be born into that includes you and me so I don't see why you are treating me this way," Jeff said as he unwraps his hand from her body.

"Despite that you said you don't want me, I won't let you die. Wait here while I take off my shirt...,"

"Are you crazy? You are gonna freeze to death if you do that so stop it," Catherine said as she prevented him from standing up.

"Then what do you want me to do Catherine. You are gonna freeze to death if I don't do that," Jeff said helplessly as he cupped her face.

"You are so silly, I won't die from this and even though I die, it won't make a difference. The only people I pity is my poor dad and Jasmine. They will weep their heart out...,"

"Stop saying these silly words and conserve your energy because I am going to get you out of here...,"

"You talk too much. My head hurts," Catherine who had placed her index finger on his lips said as she smiled weakly at him.

Jeff stared down at the weak Catherine who looks so pale. If not for the red colour of lipstick she had applied, her lips would have also turned paled. Jeff stares at her trembling lips. His heart hurt from seeing her this way. He regretted bringing her to the flower field. If he hadn't planned to surprise her, this wouldn't have happened.

"Stop looking at me with those pitiful eyes because I hate it," Catherine whose gaze was centred on his face says.

"Catherine, I like you a lot. I don't know whether it was love at first sight but all I know is that I wasn't myself after we parted ways at the airport. You never gave me your line so I couldn't get in contact with you. The few times I dropped by at your company I was hoping to see you but each time I was just unlucky...,"

"Why are you saying all this here?" Catherine asked as she raised her trembling hands to his face. Staring at his worried face, her face inched closer. Before she knew what was happening she their lips had met. Jeff adjusted his body before he wrapped his hand around her waist and pull her closer.

The warmth his hand romancing her body gave her was so comforting. She refuses to let go of him. The once gentle kiss turned to a steamy one. Catherine did not know when they took their clothes off. She only realised they were both nude when she momentarily regain a bit of her senses. Her sanity only lasted for a few seconds because she soon gets carried away when Jeff's sexy lips moved to her neck. By the time he was done, the once shivering Catherine was on fire looking for a medium to quench the flames. Jeff whose mind was out of this world obliged when she begged for relief. He was very gentle with her at first but he turned to a possessed beast after his first climax. Inside the littered farmhouse, two bodies united. In the flames of their desires, they got carried away. They lost track of time. None of them knew when they stopped making love because by the time they stopped they were both too exhausted and also Catherine's cellphone had switched off.

The next day, Catherine and Jeff woke up embracing each other tightly. Catherine almost screamed out in horror when she realised that they were both nude. After realising what happened between them she could not look Jeff in the eye anymore. Their journey from the farmhouse down to town was a quiet one. They didn't talk to each other even after Jeff dropped her earlier at Jasmine's place.
