'We are born the same, as humans, but we are raised differently from each other.'
Orange colored sky with a sunset in the middle, a wide blue sea all around the horizon. There was a ship in the middle of it. A white ship with an emblem that showed the might of the royal family. In the middle of the ship, a 20-year-old young adult was standing still while enjoying the sunset with his hand crossed. He wore a green coat with a white shirt and black trousers. He was the son of a duke that will be getting married to the princess of a country. His name is Lawrence Sharrington. A boy with dark brown hair, average build, and a semi-muscular appearance.
He was a magic swordsman and healer back when he was drafted for the Soulisphate kingdom during his academy time. He was a smart, rational, shy, and easily-touched during his military times. However, he barely finished his combat assignment after the war between the kingdoms is over.
"Hey there, boy, your big day is coming soon, isn't it?" The captain that was holding the wheel of the ship shouted to him.
Lawrence turned his head backward and saw the captain shouted to him. He walked to the captain. With the sea breeze that's made a beautiful voice like a singing angel, the conversation with the captain started.
"Yes, in fact, when we will arrive at the port?" He asked him in a manner. Not really surprising since he was raised as a nobility. Studying for ten years in nobility based school seems to be enough to make him learn the basics of manner.
"With this kind of wind?" The captain said as the ship was in full sail. "Probably about two or three days," He said with a sailor accent that was very natural coming from his mouth.
"Well, Captain, best regards, the dinner will start soon," He said as he left the captain alone on the wheel of the sheep. He walked to the interior of the ship and walked to the dining hall. The dining hall where his family and several famous people of the kingdom gather.
There were several people in the table, the most noticeable one was his parents. His mother wore a blue satin dress, and her father wore a lime coat and a white shirt. The others were his friends and his father's landlord.
He sat between his mother and his father. The sailor turned on another lantern; thus, the interior of the ship was shining with an orange light from the fire on the lamp. His father stood up and hit the glass several times with a spoon; thus, several people looked at him.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention?" His father asked him.
The whole guess mouth went shut, and his father started to talk, "Thank you for coming to this dinner event to celebrate my son's marriage with the daughter of the king itself. It's been a joy to raise her into an honorable man like the way he is now."

Lawrence just sat still looking at the guests that were listening to his father gibberish. For him, marriage is simply just a political one that gave him a better future. He knew that his family almost went bankrupt, and this marriage would save the family from that catastrophe.
Lawrence was a bit older in terms of mental age than the average person that has the same age as him. He had known the cruel fact of living as a nobility. Everything turned into something political from playing with someone of his age until eating together with someone of his age.
As soon as his father let him eat the food, he ate the food as fast as he could. When the others were talking about him, he headed first to his cabin. Lawrence was pretty smart at hiding his emotion, some people might say that he is a flat face.
He took off his shoes, then laid down on the bed. He looked up to the lantern that was hanging on the ceiling of his cabin. His head was filled with many thoughts. He didn't love the princess. The fact that she is a princess doesn't change the fact that he didn't like her. He brings the pillow on top of his head, and tears started to fall from his eyes.
Why do I have to marry her? Why do I have to marry her?
He cried until the sleepiness got the better of him, and he fell asleep.
Midnight
BOOM
A massive explosion could be heard from the middle part of the ship. He woke up and ran outside his cabin barefooted. Several sailors were on stand by on the cannon of the ship. They loaded the cannonball and put some gunpowder inside of it and fired it.
He continued to run, and he saw a hole in the hull of the ship. It penetrates so far that the cannon hit his parent's cabin. In a panic, he ran to his parent's cabin to find that a blood pool had been formed in their room.
In shock, he shook his parents and used a healing spell on their body, but to no luck, nothing happened. His parents were laying down in the bed full of blood and the fragments from the cannon. With bloody hands, he closed their eyes with a tear that was falling down from his eyes.
Still barefooted, he ran in desperation to the captain's cabin. He opened the door and such luck that he found the captain. Full of blood and a knife was stabbed into his heart. He tried to wake the captain up and used a healing spell on him, but the same case as his parents, nothing happened.
"FUCK," he shouted as he grabbed the captain's sword and left the captain's cabin with a sword on his left hand.
He got out of the captain's quarter, and he found several people that looks aggressive. They were holding a flintlock pistol, blunderbuss, and their boss on top of all was dual-wielding a rapier. Their boss slaughtered every guard that was guarding the ship with his rapier. When someone with a musket tried to shoot him, he grabbed one of the guards and used him as a meatshield.
His goons had far worse skill than him, but that didn't matter since he was coming to Lawrence. Lawrence's hands trembled when he was facing that pirate's boss that was wearing a hood on his head.
He swung his sword at the boss's direction, but he parried it with his rapier and kicked him in the nuts. He dropped his sword in pain, and the boss bashed his head to the railings of the ship and threw him to the open ocean.
He tried to swim back to the ship, but the moment he decided to, the ship exploded and leaving him and the pirate's ship as the only survivor. The pirates used him as target practice, and he swam away as far as he can. He knew that he will die, but he didn't know when. He swam further and further from the sinking ship.
At one point, he reached an island. An island in the middle of nowhere that had no inhabitants at all. He looked for a place to sleep, but he didn't find any. He walked around the beach with a dull sensation on his left foot.
He looked at his foot and found a big chunk of wood that got stuck in his legs. In a panic, he pulled the wood from his foot and made the injury worse. He thought that he can heal it with a healing spell, but his mana had run out. He bled out and lost his consciousness while his foot was full of warm red liquid.
