"General!"
I stopped him as he opened the spatial tear to follow the Grimm Monsters that had run away. There is next to no chance that he will be able to capture them, the Grimms have come up with a full plan, and they succeeded.
Even though they have sacrificed the army of ten million, it is worth seeing they have gotten the Grandmaster, not to mention they have been able to save all their super powerhouses as they have run away.
'General, there is maybe a faint hope to save you,' I said telepathically as I saw him about to take a step into the spatial tear.
He stopped midstep and turned before flying toward me; it took him less than a second to appear beside me.
"Do you really have a way?" He asked; while his eyes are full of hope, he also understands them he will die. Less than 10% of people survive after getting hit by targetted poison or curse; it is mostly because they have a powerful artifact or resource they have found in ruin.
The targeted attacks are one of the most fearful attacks of Grimms that Grandmaster fears, as even our healers are incapable of dealing with them. As these attacks are designed for them, they will only act against them and useless against the other people.
"It could be said a way; it is something I had been working on but hadn't got time to test it on anyone," I said a little awkwardly.
It is one of the formations I have been working on and haven't even perfected. I had created it with the aim of using it within a minute of being affected by the targeted poison, as for ten minutes, Grandmasters remained in control of energy, body, and soul before the attack began to take control and kill them.
He looked at me as if I was making a joke, but when he saw me in all seriousness, a surprise couldn't help but flash in his eyes.
"Fine, do whatever you want, its not like you will be able to make things worse than they already are," he said with a sigh after a second of the wait and covered us with the dome of energy that nobody would be able to see through.
"Give me your hand," I said, and he gave it without hesitation. As he did, I held my index finger up, and a point of sanguine and pink color began to form, and each second, it would become bigger while I would turn paler and paler.
If it had been anyone else, I would not dare to take such risks, but it is a Grandmaster's life in line, and each Grandmaster is extremely precious for us race.
As the ninth second rolled, I became paler than paper and did not have the energy to stand myself, even fighting to remain conscious. General had to support me for the last two seconds before I was done.
I shakingly moved my finger, and it touched the back of the General's hand, and the thick drop of sanguine and pink touched it.
As it did, it began to, drawing runes after runes at very fast speed, and soon, the whole hand of general was covered in the runes, but that is just a beginning as the runes are continued to spread toward the rest of the body.
It took four seconds for the runes to spread across his whole body, and I have to say, the sanguine and pink combination looks quite good.
Buzz!
The runes remained static for a second before they buzzed and began to seep inside him. The General had turned off his defenses without me saying anything as it took only a second for the runic formation to seep inside him.
"General, power up the formation," I said weakly and used a tiny bit of soul energy which is all I could muster to look inside his body through the formation I had created.
Inside him, I could see the curse, the design of it quite similar to the ones I had seen it in Grandmasters sleeping in the hall of sleep. The only difference they have with it is that it is not as heavily or deeply spread as those people, but it would not be the case in a few minutes.
The targeted curses spread extremely fast; if it continued, the Grandmaster would not live for even an hour; living past an hour would be a challenge. If they did not act fast with such lethality, they would not have been a nightmare of every human Grandmaster.
As the General poured his immense power into the formation, it began to spread into its soul cells.
The first target was the cells that hadn't been infected by the curse, the energy of the formation began to cover it fully, and finally, seven seconds later, it came into contact with a curse which was also rapidly infected the cells.
The energies met; they did not clash at all. I did not create a formation with the intention of clashing; it would defeat the purpose of what I am trying to do and make the patient even weaker.
As the two energies met before moving into each other's territory. The curse moved into energy-covered cells; it had sort of stopped as if it had lost the target which it was designed to kill.
It flared, spreading out its sensors wide but still not able to find a target; seeing that smile couldn't help but appear on my face.
The formation is designed to clock and change the signature of the cell, so the curse which is made to specifically target them would not find them, and it is not the only thing it is capable of doing.
While the targeted curse stopped on its tracks confused, my formations energy spread into curse infected cells, covering them as fast as it could, and within twenty-three seconds, it had covered the whole body of General.
