Three days passed since I have come to this ruin and have some good news finally after hearing whispered tidbits from the Antman.
From little more than two days of observation, I found out this Antman did not talk when it was alone, but it whispered curse when it was frustrating, and through these curses, I have been able to find out some things.
First, it really hates its superior and had been cursing its name at least a few times a day, right after its made its report, and second, its shift is going to end in half a day; after that, it would go back to their base.
There is another thing I was able to find out which made me very worried; the name of its superior, who we have a pretty big file about. It is a Grandmaster who has been active for more than two hundred and fifty years and has is a peak Grandmaster strength.
From the information Ive read about it, I am not a match for it. In front of it, the only thing I could do was escape; with it being in this ruin, I would now have to be even more careful in this mission and would need to use more brain than a muscle.
Half a day passed by, and a smile appeared on the sour face of the Antman, and it immediately increased its speed by sixfold and flew toward the south at very fast speed.
I followed right behind it, though I have maintained as much distance between it and myself after knowing there is a notoriously powerful Grimm Monster preceding over it. I do not want to be caught by it, seeing how important the mission has become now.
To be honest, when I had come to this ruin, I had not throught there would even Grimm Grandmaster of Mid-level.
The Grimms have more Grandmasters than us, but they do not have an unlimited supply of them, especially of those who are at mid and peak level. This means if they have sent a peak Grandmaster here, they must have found something that requires its presence.
Three hours passed as I followed behind me, but I saw nothing but sand and destroyed cities.
The ruin is vast, and the space is dangerous that even Grimm Monster did not dare to travel through it. In the past three days, I have done research on the space here and am able to understand what is happening with the space.
The space is dangerous, but I would be travel through it by tearing it. Though it will become dangerous, those dangers would be mitigated by some degrees by the things I have created. Still, I would not use that option till I really need to.
Another hour and a half passed by, and I was about to die of boredom seeing only white sand when Grimm stopped.
It had stopped over a city; the city is neither small nor big compared to other cities and destroyed like them. I did not see anything that could pique my interest, but since the Grimm had stopped it, it means there is something.
It flew down toward the city, and when it reached near the ground, it had entered the rift that is in the northern part of the city.
Hun!
Seeing it do that, I couldn't help but feel surprised, but I continued to watch through its eyes as it descends down.
In just a few seconds, the rift, which was barely big enough for Grimm Monster to slide in comfortably, had widened up. That is not the only change that begins to occur; the temperature also begins to rise explosively that in just two miles under, it had formed energy skin over its body.
The temperature is so hot that an armored Grandmaster had to summon an extra energy layer around it, and that is just the beginning.
Another mile down, the temperature had increased so much that it had to straight bring out its defensive method. This temperature seemed to make the Grimm extremely happy as I could feel its heart beating faster and faster the lower it flew.
Before long, I began to see the light down below, and this light got brighter and brighter lower it goes till finally, it got bright as day, and I finally saw the ground below.
Thud!
It landed the stony ground of the subterranean and saw the source of light through the eyes of the Grimm Monster, and as I saw it, I froze.
I froze in shock and danger that gripped my heart instinctively. Anyone who saw this thing would freeze with those emotions.
Hundreds away from the Grimm Monster is a globe of glass that kind of looked like a snow globe. This glode is massive, its size could easily gobble up tens of our cities and inside this globe is fire.
A bright white fire with a very faint hint of red in it and it burning inside the globe.
The fire did not look violent at all, it is very peaceful, but it is without a doubt extremely destructive. So, destructive, that fumes coming out of small cracks of the globe had made this whole ruin a hotland.
It is the sole reason why this ruin had turned into this; the temperature of this place has become so hot that not a single life of any kind could be seen on this ruin.
The huge globe is hundreds of miles away but those fumes spewing out of it made this place so hot that not even peak Grandmaster would be able to approach a hundred miles of this globe, but it seemed like Grimm Monster wished to do the same.
I have spotted the five Grimm Monsters already, all of them being Grandmasters, with one of them being a Peak Grandmaster, which is quite known to us humans, given the number of human Grandmasters it had killed.
All five of them are looking at the globe with greed; it is clear they want something from it and looking at artifacts in front of them, they seemed to have come very much prepared to get what they want.
