392 Mrs. Fu Is Right!

"Mrs. Fu is right!" said Fu Huai'an with a smirk. He nodded and placed the suitcase aside before he took off his watch and laid it down at the head of the bed. He unbuttoned his shirt while saying, "I'll go take a shower, and we'll start heading for Jincheng after lunch…"

To cover up her shyness at seeing Fu Huai'an remove his shirt, Lin Nuan picked up the suit Fu Huai'an left on the bed.

She then remembered that she still had an ungifted present, so she turned around and said out loud, "Once you're done with your shower, I have something to give you!"

"Okay!"

Fu Huai'an nodded and entered the washroom with fresh clothes.

Lin Nuan went downstairs and saw that Auntie Li was busy in the kitchen preparing for their lunch. She washed her hands and tried to help, but Auntie Li gave her an errand to buy soy sauce from the convenience store outside the estate area.

Lin Nuan wore a jacket and a cap and started to head out, but Auntie Li quickly caught up and reminded Lin Nuan to bring an umbrella as the sky looked like it was about to rain.

It was a short distance, so Lin Nuan simply looked up at the not so gloomy sky and paid no heed to Auntie Li's reminder. She told Auntie Li that she ran fast, so she would be back quickly.

Lin Nuan quickly picked out the soy sauce Auntie Li asked for, and when she was paying for it at the cashier… She heard people running to stand under the roof of the convenience store, complaining about the sudden storm.

Lin Nuan turned and looked towards the door to see that many passers-by had made their way to the roofs of the shops along both sides of the road to avoid the rain.

The small convenience store was suddenly extremely packed. Lin Nuan paid and stood at the entrance of the store while holding the soy sauce. She saw that the heavy rain had already accumulated two small rivers that were gushing quickly into the drains.

She should've listened to Auntie Li and brought an umbrella!

It wasn't that far from home, but if Lin Nuan ran back like that, she would definitely be thoroughly drenched…

"En, I know, I'll be back soon…"

Hearing a familiar voice, Lin Nuan turned around to make direct eye contact with Chu Xun.

Chu Xun, who had just walked away from the cashier with a plastic bag in hand, paused in surprise, panic evident in her eyes.

Today's Chu Xun let her long black hair down and wore light gray athletic wear, her face and condition not looking very good.

When she saw Lin Nuan, Chu Xun paused, blocking the entrance of the cashier area with a nervous look on her face.

"Excuse me…"

Chu Xun moved a step to the side when she heard someone call out behind her. After some hesitation, she plucked up the courage to walk towards the doors of the store.

The entrance of the store was rather small, plus it was rather crowded. Two young ladies who were using their phones to book a cab separated Lin Nuan and Chu Xun.

"This rain came about so suddenly, so the drivers probably can't be booked in time! Not a single driver has accepted to drive here even after waiting for such a long time!" said one of them, grumbling.

"I'll increase the fees!"

"Why don't we just let the driver drive us by the meter? Then we should be able to get a cab faster!"

Hearing the duo's conversation, Chu Xun walked back into the convenience store to get an umbrella, but the umbrella rack was already empty…

Chu Xun could only walk back and stand back at her previous position.

Suddenly, the two ladies held hands and ran into the cab that stopped outside the store. Without anyone standing between Lin Nuan and Chu Xun, Chu Xun panicked and nervously gripped the plastic bag printed with the store's logo in her hands.

A beggar that had been drenched suddenly ran to the store to avoid the rain. He stood close beside Chu Xun.

He put down the bag on his shoulder and removed his jacket, twisting it to get rid of the water before using it to wipe his hair.

Chu Xun was forced aside by the man's big actions and had no choice but to move towards Lin Nuan's direction, the two standing even closer together now.
