576 Extremely Naive and Innocen

Lin Nuan took a few deep breaths. She only calmed down her breathing and opened the door after she saw Fu Huai'an enter the bedroom.

When she opened the door, the person standing outside wasn't You Nainai, it was Chu Xun.

Chu Xun had clearly gone back, changed into new clothes, freshened up, and gotten rid of her fatigue.

She had put on makeup and appeared more refreshed than she was earlier.

Chu Xun was holding a document folder with one hand and her phone with the other. When the door was opened, Chu Xun lifted her head to discover Lin Nuan. She wasn't surprised. However, Lin Nuan's eyes appeared to glisten with moisture, and her fair skin exuded a beautiful pink blush, causing Chu Xun not to know what she should say and what tone she should be using…

Her gaze brushed past Lin Nuan's neck, which was also flushed. The two of them were standing quite close, and, other than Lin Nuan's own scent, Chu Xun could detect the strong smell of Fu Huai'an. Chu Xun then saw the extremely light kiss marks at Lin Nuan's neck, and she felt as though a knife had been stabbed into her heart.

Even though Lin Nuan had already done her best to conceal it, they were both mature adults, and Lin Nuan's appearance was clearly that of one who had been loved. There was no hiding it.

She knew that her arrival had probably interrupted Fu Huai'an and Lin Nuan!

Fu Huai'an was already unable to hold himself back in the middle of the day?

Chu Xun's tiffany blue nails sank into her soft palms. She smiled and tried her best to act naturally before Lin Nuan. "I've come to look for Huai'an to talk about matters concerning the Kaide Corporation's shares."

As if she was afraid that Lin Nuan wouldn't let her meet Fu Huai'an, Chu Xun brought up her objective clearly, appearing open and aboveboard.

Lin Nuan nodded and turned to let her in. "He's changing his clothes. Come in and take a seat…"

After nodding to express her thanks, Chu Xun walked in.

Before she could close the door, You Nainai appeared, already having put her things away.

You Nainai smiled at Lin Nuan and was about to speak when she saw that Fu Huai'an had changed into a new set of clothes. She drew back her smile and stood upright as she looked toward Fu Huai'an.

Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.

What on earth had Fu Huai'an done to make You Nainai so afraid of him? To think, You Nainai was so scared that she didn't even dare speak up the moment he came out!

"Come in for now!" Lin Nuan invited You Nainai in.

"Huai'an, the reason I've come to look for you this time around is, firstly, because Grandma Fu has asked me to persuade you to return to the Kaide Corporation and stabilize the situation quickly. Another matter is in regards to the Kaide Corporation shares that our Chu family and our relatives have on hand. They are all in this document folder!"

You Nainai was an intelligent lady, and the moment she heard that this was a work matter related to the Kaide Corporation, she knew that it wasn't something that she should be listening in on. She was only Lin Nuan's guard and assistant, and this matter concerned the company.

You Nainai drew back the leg that was about to take a step forward and said to Lin Nuan, "Why don't I go and eat first and come over later? Is that alright?"

Fu Huai'an came out from the bedroom and heard You Nainai mention that she wanted to get some food. He bent down and picked up his cigarettes and lighter from the coffee table, then stood back up and asked Lin Nuan, "Are you hungry?"

Chu Xun thought that Fu Huai'an wanted to send Lin Nuan away and stood at the side, not saying a word.

"En, I'm a little hungry…" Lin Nuan nodded.

"Then let's go and have some food first!" Fu Huai'an didn't appear anxious at all and held his cigarettes and lighter in his hand as he looked at Chu Xun. "We'll talk after the meal!"

Right now, the Chu family was anxious, like ants in a hot pan. They had no idea what Fu Huai'an was planning and if he would return to the Kaide Corporation. Therefore, she had no idea if she should bring out the Kaide Corporation shares in her hands.

Chu Xun mentioned that she was holding onto the shares belonging to the Chu family and their relatives. However, they were merely the share certificates and not the share transfer form.

The Chu family's primary objective was still to let Chu Xun sound out Fu Huai'an.

The one who felt the most anxious now wasn't Fu Huai'an; it was Chu Xun…

"Huai'an!" Chu Xun called out to Fu Huai'an a little anxiously.

Fu Huai'an turned and still said the same thing. "Let's talk after the meal. Or… if you don't mind, we can talk over the meal."

Lin Nuan understood that Fu Huai'an was trying to avoid doing anything that could arouse suspicion and didn't wish to talk to Chu Xun separately. If there was anything they had to talk about, they should do it in front of Lin Nuan. Knowing this, she couldn't help but feel happy.

Was Lin Nuan so important? More important than the shares that Fu Huai'an had wanted the most in the past?

A Chinese restaurant that wasn't far away from the hotel was chosen for their meal.

Chu Xun couldn't leave Chu Jiaoyang alone in the hotel while she went off to have her meal, so she called Chu Jiaoyang and told her to get her assistant to accompany her. Chu Jiaoyang kicked up a fuss on the phone, saying that she also wanted to have a meal together with Fu Huai'an. She asked for the location of the Chinese restaurant and said that she'd head over by herself.

What took Chu Xun by surprise was that Bai Xiaonian was around as well. Moreover, she was seated in a wheelchair and was pushed into the private room by Lu Jinnan.

Chu Xun sensed that Lu Jinnan and Bai Xiaonian were acting as if they were a couple, but she still wasn't too sure.

Lu Jinnan, Bai Xiaonian, and Chu Jiaoyang entered the private room in succession. Lin Nuan entered the en-suite restroom. As for You Nainai, she had already assumed her role. She insisted on following Lin Nuan to the washroom and waiting outside even though the room was inside the private room.

When Bai Xiaonian entered and saw Chu Xun, she was slightly stunned. There seemed to be a hidden meaning behind her smile, and her attitude wasn't that good. She didn't show any intention of flattering Chu Xun. "President Chu!"

Chu Xun nodded toward Bai Xiaonian and turned to look at Lu Jinnan.

Bai Xiaonian looked around and couldn't see Lin Nuan. She asked, "Where's Nuan Nuan?"

"She went to the washroom," Fu Huai'an replied.

Lu Jinnan pushed Bai Xiaonian over, moved a chair away, and settled her in. He then took a seat next to Fu Huai'an, grabbed the pack of cigarettes that Fu Huai'an had placed on the table, drew one out, and then left it hanging at the corner of his lips. As he didn't see a lighter, he searched through his own pockets and recalled that he didn't bring one with him. He asked Fu Huai'an, "Where's the lighter?"

Fu Huai'an spoke as if he was holding back his smile, saying, "Xiao Nuan kept it."

Lu Jinnan was speechless.

She was really ruthless, leaving only the cigarettes behind. After taking the lighter away, how the hell could they smoke?

Lu Jinnan could only move the cigarette away from his mouth, place it on the table, and take a seat.

They were chatting when the door was pushed open. Chu Jiaoyang's head peeked in, and when she saw Fu Huai'an, she called out cheerfully, "Brother Huai'an!"

She carried her backpack and ran up to Fu Huai'an, ignoring the fact that Lin Nuan's coat was hanging on the chair and sitting down next to him.

"Brother Huai'an, we didn't manage to talk much earlier, so I came over when I heard from my cousin that you guys were coming here to have your meal. You won't find me irritating, right?" Chu Jiaoyang threw a glance at Chu Xun and then beamed as she looked at Fu Huai'an, appearing extremely naive and innocent.
