Chapter 1244 - He’s Definitely Not Like the Other Guys From Before!

She sat back in the front passenger seat with a disappointed look on her face.

“I’m sorry!” Lu Jinnan bowed his head towards Bai Xiaonian. She was now facing problems at work because he kept her at home. It was all his fault.

This time, Bai Xiaonian surprisingly didn’t flare up at Lu Jinnan.

She simply replied, “Forget it. Maybe I wasn’t fated to do it… and Shen Zizhou wasn’t planning to accept any interviews anyway! If I’m fated to interview him… I’ll get the chance to do it someday!”

Lu Jinnan continued, “Yeah. We were fated to have our child, so… he’ll come back!”

Bai Xiaonian subconsciously placed her hand over her abdomen.

Tong Huan could only furiously head back and complain to their superior, shifting the blame to Bai Xiaonian and hiding how she forcefully stole Bai Xiaonian’s interview opportunity.

Bai Xiaonian was also on her guard and was one step ahead of Tong Huan. She had already sent the recordings of their call and her call with Shen Zizhou’s assistant to their superior.

Bai Xiaonian hated being involved in dirty work at the workplace. After dealing with Tong Huan using the same methods Lin Nuan once used to deal with others, she applied for extended leave on the basis of being sick. That way, she could also express her dissatisfaction with her superior.

This is the successor to the culinary king, Tang Xiangting. She calls herself the Lady Iron Chef, and she does live broadcasts to teach people Tang-style cooking! I’m trying to learn from her broadcasts so that I can cook for you!”

Some of the dishes mentioned in the cookbook could only be eaten at Tang Xiangting’s restaurant “Tang Restaurant” and nowhere else.

“This lady is really good! Remember the steamed glutinous rice with chicken wrapped in lotus leaves I made for you? Didn’t you find it tasty? Over the past few days, when you weren’t at home, I followed this lady’s instructions and made it once. It really tasted different. I’ll make it again for you some time so that you can try it!”

Bai Xiaonian’s father sighed as he passed the last plate to Bai Xiaonian. “Sigh… the food already tastes this good when you follow her instructions. Imagine what this young lady’s cooking skills are like! The culinary king’s probably even better! I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to try his cooking.”

“I’ll take you to his restaurant when I get the chance! I have connections!” Bai Xiaonian arranged the plates neatly after she’d wiped them dry. Then, she cut up some fruits and took them out to Old Bai, who was now watching television.

There was an unspoken understanding between the two of them that they wouldn’t bring up the fact that Bai Xiaonian didn’t come home for a few days. They pretended as if it had never happened. Bai Xiaonian’s father also didn’t ask Bai Xiaonian what was wrong with her voice.

“I’ve arranged a blind date for you tomorrow. I’ve personally assessed the guy this time. He studied for his master’s degree abroad… and his field of study is about the news, so the two of you should have a lot of things to talk about!” Bai Xiaonian’s father pulled out a photo and showed it to Bai Xiaonian. “The young lad speaks well and had a good upbringing! He’s definitely not like the other guys from before!”

When Lin Nuan was filming, the British ambassador’s daughter sat with Bai Xiaonian. She was starry-eyed, and the look on her face gave away her excitement as she praised her idol for her acting skills.

When Lin Nuan took a break, the ambassador’s daughter quickly ran up to her and gave her water and a warm towel. She was even more thoughtful than You Nainai…

No one else could understand the love the young girl had for her idol. After she took a photo with Lin Nuan, she gave her a present. When Lin Nuan opened it… she saw an especially expensive bracelet inside.

Lin Nuan originally didn’t want to accept the present, but she ended up doing so upon seeing the look of anticipation on the young girl’s face. She then took out a pair of ear studs that she’d just bought and hadn’t gotten the chance to wear and passed them to the young girl.
