144 It's Good to Have Such a Caring Daughter

Upon hearing his name being called, the young man stood up and buttoned his jacket before walking over to Lin Nuan, seemingly serious.

"Uncle Liu, Auntie Liu." Lin Nuan greeted the two.

"Nuan Nuan should still remember Mingchen. He was a cry-baby when he was young and cried all the way when he was getting lectured by his father, up until we reached your house… It was even Nuan Nuan who gave him a lollipop to comfort him and calm him down." Mrs. Liu laughed gently, looking kind and friendly.

"Are you planning to expose my dark history for my entire life?" Liu Mingchen was embarrassed as his mother revealed his short-comings, and he looked at Lin Nuan with a smile. He extended his hand and made a joke of himself, saying, "I'm Liu Mingchen. In my mother's words, I'm the cry-baby who was comforted by your lollipop. Do you still remember?"

Lin Nuan could sense the slight smell of disinfectant on Liu Mingchen between his every move and she guessed that Liu Mingchen was perhaps a doctor. After all, the Liu family was involved in the pharmaceutical industry, so Lin Nuan wouldn't be surprised if Liu Mingchen was influenced to become a doctor.

Liu Mingchen looked very clean and had a height of approximately 1.8 meters. He wore a silver-gray outfit and his aura was different from that of Fu Huai'an's, his smiling gaze friendly and comforting like that of a neighboring older brother.

Lin Nuan politely reached her hand out to shake his, replying, "I remember, hello…"

After sitting down, all the adults were talking while Lin Nuan sat beside Liang Mulan, taking care of the injured Liang Mulan by helping her pick up servings of the dishes and peeling the prawns for her, staying quiet.

On the other hand, Liu Mingchen added in his opinions while his father talked about work matters with Lin Jingquan, his words sounding authentic and non-exaggerated but still bringing his own opinions across. It was greatly approved by Lin Jingquan who kept praising him.

Liang Mulan arranged the meal that was a simple lunch on the surface but secretly an arranged date for Lin Nuan, only because she heard Lin Chen mention that Lin Nuan had yet to register for marriage with Fu Huai'an, so she felt worried for her.

Although Lin Nuan wasn't Liang Mulan's birth daughter, she was carefully raised by Liang Mulan who was well-aware of her introverted personality—Lin Nuan would never tell her family anything even if something happened.

Initially, Liang Mulan had no plans to introduce partners to Lin Nuan, instead choosing to wait to ask Lin Nuan what kind of situation she was in with Fu Huai'an first.

But she then unintentionally saw Su Manman's gossip on the TV and recognized Fu Huai'an as the man in the photos. That was when Liang Mulan discussed with Lin Jingquan to introduce her to a good man, in case Lin Nuan got hurt again by meeting the wrong partner.

Liang Mulan and Lin Jingquan had just formulated these plans and were prepared to keep a lookout for Lin Nuan when coincidentally, their old friend, Mrs. Liu, had visited personally and mentioned the time when Lin Nuan hosted their whole family of three, asking if Lin Nuan had a boyfriend.

Since both families had the intention of putting their two children together, the plan went off without a hitch, leading to the meal today.

Lin Nuan was the only one who had remained unaware of it until she arrived.

After the meal, when she was about to leave, Mrs. Liu held Lin Nuan's hand and looked at Liang Mulan enviously, saying, "It's good to have such a caring daughter around you. I saw Little Nuan sitting closely beside you just now during the meal, she didn't even eat much herself because she kept picking up dishes and peeling off the prawns' shells for you. It'll be wonderful if I could have such a good daughter!"

"When your Mingchen gets a wife in the future, you'll have a daughter too!" Liang Mulan laughed and joked.

"Then I hope that I'll be blessed and our Mingchen can marry a wife as good as Nuan Nuan," Mrs. Liu said and then looked towards her son. "Stop locking yourself up in your lab all the time. Come and ask Nuan Nuan out for meals more often, let her teach you how to win a girl's heart! Quickly get a wife like Nuan Nuan for my sake, so even if I die I can do so laughing happily."
