Xia Yangyang was still in a trance as she was dragged out of the laboratory by Gu Chaohan.
She suddenly snapped to her senses before pulling her arm away from Gu Chaohan. “Gu Chaohan, why did you do that?”
Xia Yangyang was furious. Not only because Gu Chaohan had kissed her, but she hadn’t pushed him away right away. At that moment, she thought that he was Gu Qichen.
She had been bewitched.
Gu Chaohan halted his footsteps. With nonchalance, he said, “Sorry.”
Xia Yangyang understood immediately. “Why did you choose me to be your shield?”
“Because you’re Xia Liangdong’s daughter. Jin Feier wouldn’t do anything to you.”
Xia Yangyang had already guessed it. Jin Feier could offend anyone in the school, except for her. Even though she was the one who had exposed Jin Feier previously, she didn’t seek revenge.
She massaged her temples before saying to Gu Chaohan, “You’re a jerk.”
She spun around and left.
Wen Xiaochu stole a glance at Gu Chaohan before scrambling away.
Xia Yangyang had panicked earlier and had abandoned her suitcase thoughtlessly earlier on. It was gone.
Fortunately, there were only clothes inside.
So Xia Yangyang had no intention to look for it.
Xia Yangyang and Wen Xiaochu returned to the dormitory.
Wen Xiaochu was exceedingly guilty. “Yangyang, I’m sorry. If I didn’t seek help from you, none of this would have happened. If Young Master Lu were to know about the forced kiss, he might strangle me.”
Both of them had reached the dormitory’s entrance.
Xia Yangyang replied mildly, “It isn’t your fault. I’ve broken up with Lu Haotian anyway.”
Wen Xiaochu gasped in shock. “Why? He is so nice to you!”
Lu Haotian had indeed been very nice to Xia Yangyang. On her first day of school, he had sent her personally, along with her belongings. He carried everything to her room and was attentive and thoughtful towards her. He would always send her delicious food and fun stuff. Everyone in the dormitory benefited too.
Everyone knew that they were childhood sweethearts and they were a perfect match in terms of their family and background too. They were just like a golden couple which left everyone envious.
Why would they break up?
Xia Yangyang didn’t reply and merely opened the door.
Two other of her dormitory mates were already inside. One was the top student, Zhao Min and the other was Guan Xuer.
Zhao Min had a pile of books in her arms as she intended to go to the library.
She greeted both of them at the door.
Wen Xiaochu said, “Minmin, it’s only the first day of school. Isn’t it too much to study?”
Zhao Min replied, “Time is meant for doing productive things. It can’t be wasted. I’m off.”
Zhao Min was majoring in both finance and management. Other than lectures, everyone hardly saw her anywhere except for the library.
Only Xia Yangyang and Guan Xuer had majored in journalism. They were also high school friends and were the closest among the four of them.
But Wen Xiaochu sensed that something was amiss today.
Both of them hadn’t acknowledged each other and acted as though the other party was invisible.
Wen Xiaochu had noticed the strange atmosphere.
After a bit of hesitation, she said, “I’m giving all of you a treat. Let’s go out for steamboat at the Courtyard of Money.”
Courtyard of Money was a unique steamboat restaurant that all of them frequented.
Xia Yangyang replied, “I have to move my things tonight. I can’t go.”
