Xia Yangyang was rendered speechless as she thought that he was a figment of her imagination.
Gu Qichen was also slightly surprised when he noticed Xia Yangyang.
Xia Yangyang gasped and whispered, “Why are you here?”
Gu Qichen had recovered himself and strode leisurely towards her after locking the door.
Calmly, he replied, “This is my room.”
Xia Yangyang had finally snapped out of her daze and realized that Gu Chaohan had brought her to ‘seek refuge’ in Gu Qichen’s bedroom.
As Gu Qichen approached her, Xia Yangyang felt rather ill at ease.
He removed his blazer and she saw that he was wearing a white shirt. He really looked handsome in a white shirt.
Gu Qichen asked, “How about you? Why are you here?”
For some unknown reason, anger coursed through Xia Yangyang.
She replied coldly, “I’m here to attend President Gu’s matchmaking session. All the eligible young ladies in Fengcheng City are here today for you to choose them like carrots at a mart. What an eye-opener.”
Xia Yangyang snorted coldly after she finished.
A grin lit up the corners of his mouth. He gently pinched Xia Yangyang’s puffed cheeks and said, “Little one, are you jealous?”
Xia Yangyang denied, “Who is jealous? I’m not.”
Gu Qichen suddenly became proper and serious. “You were the one who refused to acknowledge our relationship. Let’s do this then. Go down with me right now, and I will formally introduce you to my father and sister. Your father is in attendance too. Let’s go and inform them that we have officially registered our marriage and you’re my wife. This will spare them the trouble of arranging these nonsensical matchmaking sessions.”
He grabbed Xia Yangyang to pull her with him.
It was Xia Yangyang’s turn to retreat.
She halted and protested, “No way. I’m not prepared. Besides, the occasion is inappropriate.”
Xia Yangyang was clad in casual clothes and she had even climbed a tree earlier on. She had mud on her clothes and her hair was messy. She was in such a battered and sorry state now. How could she present herself like this to the elders and the rest of the guests?
Gu Qichen spun around and replied innocently, “Look, I’ve been waiting for you to be ready. I’ve always compromised and gave in to you. So you have to make it up to me.”
Xia Yangyang sensed that something wasn’t right, but nonetheless, she followed along. “How do you want me to repay you?”
Gu Qichen had already pinned Xia Yangyang against the French windows without a sound. Kisses landed passionately on her face. “Did you miss me for the past three days?”
She was left bewildered and dazed by his kisses and could barely hang on dearly to her last thread of rationality. “No, stop. What if someone comes in?”
She was afraid that Gu Chaohan might enter.
Gu Qichen trailed kisses along her neck as he whispered seductively, “The door is locked, and the walls are soundproof.”
“The windows are transparent! Someone would spot us…”
“This is a one-sided window. No one would be able to look in from outside.”
Although no one could see them from outside, Xia Yangyang could still glimpse the guests from the side of her vision.
It felt as though she was doing this with everyone watching them…
Xia Yangyang couldn’t get over that feeling so she begged, “Please don’t…”
Gu Qichen didn’t want to go against her will, so he relinquished his grip. He pulled her by the hand to the wardrobe.
A moment later, he retrieved an oriental cheongsam with cherry blossom prints.
Xia Yangyang liked it very much. “Is this for me?”
“Other than my wife, whose clothes could I possibly have in my room?”
