Chapter 12：12 I Do's

Akito, Nathan and Pauline are all waiting for the result of Ai. Minutes turns to hours. They begin to be impatient. Shortly, the doctor comes out of the ER.

Pauline asks, "How is she? Is she okay?" "No need to worry, it is fine, however..." Nathan asks, "What's wrong, doctor?" "One of the bullets hit her spine, which might cause problems in the future. She won't able to walk." "What?!"

Akito stands up. "It's alright." Nathan and Pauline turns and looks at Akito. "If anything happens to her, I'll stay with her even if she asks me to leave." Nathan turns to Pauline. "Let's leave it to Akito, hmm?" Pauline nods in agreement.

Days later, Ai finally wakes up. She tries to sits up but she feels kind of strange. "My legs..." Akito appears and seems to realize that she figures it out. He walks up to her and sits next to her. "Ai."

"Akito. My legs..." Akito hugs her tightly in his arms. "I know. Doctor told us." Ai returns the embrace. "If you're blind, deaf, or unable to walk, I'll support you no matter what." He parts with her and looks in her eyes. "I'm not doing this because I feel responsible. It's because I love you, Ai." He wipes her tears and holds her tight. "Everything will be okay. Trust me." Ai nods.

Few months went by, everyone are running here and there to get things ready. Ai is in her wedding dress. "Oh my. You look very beautiful." Ai smiles. "Thanks grandmother." Nathan comes in. "It's time, my princess." She takes a deep breath and said, "I'm ready."

Nathan push her on the wheel chair. As soon as they get to the aisle, she slowly gets off of the wheelchair and takes her time to walk down the aisle with her grandfather. "Grandfather." "Hm?" He looks at her. "Thank you." They both smile.

They reach to Akito, who is standing by the altar. Akito walks down and bows to Nathan. Nathan nods and puts her hand into his. Akito carefully escorts her to the altar. They both smiles at each other and said their 'I do's'. They share a kiss then turns to their guests and bowed. Soon enough their wedding went well.

After their wedding, they head to their honeymoon. On the way there, Akito and Ai are talking about kids. "How many kids you want?" "k-kids..." "Of course." Ai thinks about it. "As many as I can." He laughs. "What?" He reaches out and touches her face. "Nothing. I'm just happy that you're here."

"Are you mad?" "About what?" "That I didn't tell you my plans." "Ah. Yes. I was mad." "Was?" He smiles. "I was mad, but after seeing you all well and healthy, I feel happy. I feel very happy when you said you love me." Her face blush. He puts his hand on top of hers. "Ai, I love you."

She smiles. "I know." They share a kiss once more. Their lips parted but their foreheads touch one another as they smile at each other. Ai then leans against his shoulder while holding onto his hand.
