Chapter 20 Lively

Julia rummaged through her bag and finally poured the contents of her bag onto the table. She looked so silly that she really looked like an innocent little rabbit.

Then, Julia’s eyes lit up. She opened a crumpled note and handed it to Bailey. She said happily, “Sister, look, this is it.”

As she spoke, her other hand dragged out a necklace identical to the necklace in Bailey’s hand from the corner of her bag. She smiled innocently and said, “Coincidentally, you brought the necklace out today too, Sister. I brought it out too. Let’s wear it around our necks together later. How good is that?”

Bailey looked at the invoice in her hand. The date on it had been pushed forward from a long time ago, and it looked as if it was real.

Bailey could not help but sneer in her heart. So she was such a stupid person in their eyes? They thought that they could fool her by casually fabricating an invoice and buying a necklace from somewhere at the last minute.

If she wanted to check an invoice of such, she would definitely be able to find out if it was real or fake. However, Xavier and Julia were sure that she would not check it.

In their eyes, as long as it was Julia who said it, Bailey would believe her unconditionally because Julia was her favorite sister.

However, on second thought, it made sense. According to her personality in her previous life, she would have already started to apologize to Julia guiltily.

Then, she would be annoyed in her heart. Why would she suspect such an innocent sister of hers like Julia?

Xavier looked at Bailey’s silent expression and felt a little uneasy. Perhaps such a fake thing could not fool Ms. Shen, who was swift and decisive in the business world, but it would definitely fool Bailey, who doted on Julia.

As long as it was Julia’s words, the previous Bailey would never question it. This was also why Xavier was with Julia.

Before he got together with Bailey, Xavier had worked hard on Julia to find out a lot of Bailey’s locations and what she liked. This was also why he could enter Bailey’s world better than other pursuers.

Bailey looked up at Julia and her eyes curved slightly. She said gently, “So that’s how it is. It seems like I misunderstood you. It’s my fault. How could I suspect you? Maybe you put it in my pocket and I accidentally fell to Xavier’s side that day.”

Beside her, Xavier instantly heaved a sigh of relief and gave Julia a look.

Julia followed Xavier’s signal and looked at the glass in front of Bailey. She understood, but a sour taste suddenly welled up in her heart. It was simply ridiculous to send another woman to the bed of the person she liked.

Julia swallowed the bitterness in her heart and pouted angrily. “Then Sister, you have to apologize to me. I’ve liked you since I was young. How can you misunderstand me? No wonder you spoke to me like that at home just now. Sister, you’re making me too sad.”

As she spoke, Julia’s eyes turned red, as if she had suffered a huge grievance.

At the side, Xavier quickly came out to smooth things over. “Julia, don’t be sad. Your sister didn’t do it on purpose. She was just confused for a moment. Come, Bailey, quickly say something nice to your sister. There’s no big conflict between sisters. Let’s have a glass of wine and this matter will be over.”

At this moment, Zachary’s voice came from Bailey’s wireless earpiece. “There’s medicine in your wine. Remember to watch the commotion outside later.”

Bailey’s gaze landed on the glass of red wine that Xavier handed to her, her expression dark.

Seeing that Bailey did not take it, Xavier was a little nervous. Julia immediately acted like she always did and said coquettishly, “Yes, Sister, you have to punish yourself by drinking three glasses. You can’t suspect anything about my innocent heart and feelings for you.”

Her innocent heart? Bailey was about to burst out laughing. What kind of heart did Julia have? She was probably black-hearted, right?

Bailey took the wine from Xavier’s hand.

Before he could speak, the door was suddenly knocked open. Xavier and Julia, who were paying attention to Bailey, were shocked. That person seemed to be drunk and he was in a daze. Then, there was a commotion outside the room.

Bailey slowly put down her glass, got up, and followed the person out.

Xavier quickly followed her and pulled Bailey. “Bailey, we won’t watch this kind of commotion. Let’s go back.”

Bailey stood at the door in confusion and looked at the noisy people. She frowned and said, “He looks like a business partner I know. No, I have to go take a look.”

Xavier turned around and looked at the wine on the table. She was so angry that he scolded in his heart. Then, he followed Bailey out, and Julia quickly followed.
