Chapter 1 - Suddenly Differentiated into an Alpha

Chapter Title: Suddenly Differentiated into an Alpha

XX, XX, 2016.

11:00 in the evening.

Qiao Qiao turned off the lights, rolled into Zhang Peng’s arms, held Zhang Peng’s waist contentedly, and soon sleepiness overcame him.

Zhang Peng’s mind was full of the company’s tight financial situation. He opened his eyes and was not sleepy. He touched Qiao Qiao’s ears and counted sheep, again and again. However, it was not sheep that floated in front of him, but rather renminbi.

Qiao Qiao’s ears were flushed and warm because of him, and he couldn’t help but move.

Zhang Peng quickly apologized and gently patted Qiao Qiao’s back as if he was coaxing a child to sleep: “It’s okay, it’s because Pengpeng was being bad. Go to sleep.”

Qiao Qiao knew that he was worrying about the company’s affairs. His body slid downward and then he started sucking.

”!” Zhang Peng quickly took Qiao Qiao back into his arms, “You want it? I will help you.”

Qiao Qiao said to himself, it’s me that wants to help you relieve your worries.

Zhang Peng turned over and pressed on Qiao Qiao.

The two were exhausted, and each was very satisfied.

In the end, Qiao Qiao fell asleep as soon as he laid his head down. Zhang Peng took him to the bathroom, and then brought him back to the bed after cleaning.

Zhang Peng lied down again, took Qiao Qiao into his arms, turned off the light and fell asleep soon.

Sure enough, doing it is the best way to release stress.

Qiao Qiao smiled in his sleep.

The next day, 6:30 in the morning.

”Buzz.” The phone woke Zhang Peng up. He opened his eyes in a daze, still tired and sleepy.

He stretched out his hand, fumbled a little while for the phone by then bed. When he bumped into the phone, he picked it up and looked at today’s itinerary, which read “Jade Capital Manager Chen.”

Qiao Qiao, who was sleeping spread eagle next to him, frowned when he heard the sound. With his eyes closed, he rolled into his arms familiarly. As usual, he reached out and put his arms around his waist, muttering in a nasal voice that was not fully awake: “So early.”

”I am going to see a client today.” Zhang Peng placed a soft kiss on Qiaoqiao’s forehead, “You continue to sleep.”

Qiao Qiao’s face was buried in Zhang Peng’s chest, and he went to see Zhou Gong again in a second.

[Editor: Went to see Zhou Gong just means he went back to sleep.]

Zhang Peng gently removed Qiao Qiao from his arm, tiptoed out of bed, went to the bathroom to wash and changed into the suit that was ironed last night. He took the book that had been proofread repeatedly, took a deep breath, and walked out of the house. He first took a bus, then transferred to the subway, and finally took another bus. It took him two and a half hours to reach the destination – Zhuyu Capital.

Zhuyu Capital is a subsidiary of Weishi Group. If this venture capital can be obtained, his company will be saved.

With a confident look, Zhang Peng concealed his fatigue from running around for several days. He took his notebook and walked into this tall and bright office building. The secretary who received him smiled kindly and asked him to wait for a while before he disappeared. Mr. Chen, who previously agreed to negotiate with him, didn’t even show his face.

Zhang Peng sat patiently in the hall, like a college student who had just graduated from university and was applying for a job, waiting pitifully for a good offer.

Since no one bothered with him, he could only familiarize himself with the contents of the book over and over again.

Suddenly he heard the elevator “ding” and looked up, only to see Mr. Chen walking over with a few young Alphas talking and laughing. It turned out that although the secretary asked him to wait outside the office, Mr. Chen was not there at all.

Zhang Peng threw the cold treatment for nearly an hour behind his head and greeted Mr. Chen with a smile. Mr. Chen looked at him bewildered, he did not remember who this was.

Zhang Peng, who was the recipient of cold gazes, did not feel offended, and actively introduced himself: “I had an appointment with you before. Our company is mainly engaged in artificial intelligence solutions. My name is Zhang Peng. This is my business card.” He took out his business card from the inner pocket of his suit and held it in front of Mr. Chen with both hands.

Mr. Chen was instantly enlightened but did not accept the card. Pointing to him, he said, “You are the one who engages in artificial intelligence. I remember you were in civil engineering.”

Zhang Peng’s heart dropped and hurriedly explained: “I taught myself computer programming when I was in college. I have been a first-rate programmer for the past few years after graduation…”

”Pfft.” The young Alpha behind Mr. Chen laughed. Everyone looked at him, and he waved his hands and shook his head and said, “Excuse me, I was really amused. Brother, if you were a civil engineer, why did you want to do artificial intelligence?”

The other Alphas laughed.

Mr. Chen also laughed: “Xiao Zhang, I forgot to tell you that these are all college IT masters.” He affectionately patted the first young Alpha who laughed out, using the “as expected of the young generation” tone, he said, “This is Zhu Ming. If you don’t have the technology, you can add each other on WeChat to get to know each other.”

Zhu Ming quickly took out his cell phone: “I’ll scan you?”

Zhang Peng has been out of society for several years and has suffered a lot. Now, he did not feel embarrassed by the cold gazes nor from being laughed at by a young man in his early twenties. He took out his mobile phone and opened the WeChat QR code: “My name is Zhang Peng, Zhang from gong chang zhang, Peng from peng you.”

“Me, Zhu from chong ba zhu, the Ming of the Sun Moon God Sect.” Zhu Ming said, scanning the QR code. While waiting for Zhang Peng’s approval, he said: “Brother, we meet each other by chance. This younger brother advises you, don’t confuse these bells and whistles. Civil engineering is very popular. Later, if you take a second construction test, the affiliate salary will be enough for you. Artificial intelligence is a concept that existed in the 1960s, and it is not a new thing. Don’t let anyone fool you. Currently, the artificial intelligence technology is more like mentally handicapped technology.”

Before Zhang Peng had time to refute, Mr. Chen asked, “Regarding this project, I only have a rough idea. It seems that Xiao Zhang is saying it is quite promising?” It sounded classy, but is unexpectedly something the last century? He didn’t understand technology and was almost taken in.

Zhu Ming smiled and was about educate Mr. Chen on machine learning neural networks. Zhang Peng frowned and interrupted him, saying: “Mr. Chen, I think artificial intelligence is definitely the next trend. The 4G mobile network has developed very well in recent years. Soon, the demand for artificial intelligence services will increase greatly. I have an analysis in my notebook. I predict that the demand for computer vision, speech recognition, image processing, and even autonomous driving technology will reach a small peak in 2018… …”

Mr. Chen listened absently for a while, looked at his watch, and smiled: “So, Xiao Zhang, can we make an appointment again? I have to show some young men to visit the company, so I can’t spare any time.”

Zhang Peng closed his mouth: In the eyes of President Chen, taking a few fledgling college students to visit the company is also a higher priority than reading his books.

Zhang Peng nodded, “Excuse me.” He didn’t feel embarrassed. His own idea was not attractive, and he couldn’t blame others.

In his heart, he was thinking that there was still a few small venture capital firms that he hasn’t gone to yet, and he needs to contact them as soon as possible when he gets back.

He heard whispers behind his back: “A Beta, how much ability does he have? Starting his own business? Isn’t that funny?”
