Chapter 68 - 68: A Goddess With Eyeglasses

The next day, before the sunrise shone up above the sky, Halora rubbed her eyes, moved sideways as she thought she was in her room.

"Hmm, wh– wha– what time is it?

"Quarter to four, you have still time to sleep again." spoke a man who appeared from the bathroom. His hair was wet, his clothes were new, and looked fresh and green.

Halora slowly opened his eyes. A white ceiling, well-ventilated surroundings, chandelier, and lampshade urged her to wake up.

She leaned over the wall behind her and looked throughout the room. "W– where did you sleep, Roy?" Halo saw a blanket on the floor. Some pillows on the couch bothered her the most as she speculated that he slept in either on the floor or the couch last night.

"On the floor but I moved to the couch at midnight. I... I can't sleep but I can't sleep next to you either."

Roy turned around, looked intently at her brown eyes. He wanted to ask her questions about last night but he ignored those doubts and feelings.

What's more important was being with her for a week straight and there was no Sebastian who will keep her away from him.

"Why did you do that? W– we can share this big, king-size bed with pillows in the middle! Come on, Roy, what friends are for?"

"I know, but I just can't sleep with y– you." Honestly, he told Halora who looked dismayed. "D– don't look at me that way, Halora. I don't want to commit all the crimes I've made."

"If you don't want to go back to sleep again, get off from the bed and help me to make some breakfast–" He paused, put the wet towel inside of a standard close at his left. "I don't like the taste of the food they served last night."

Roy wore a black and white sleeve. It looked perfect for him, it fitted well to his body. He paired it with a pair of black trousers and a slipper. While Halora looked like an undead who haven't slept in a year.

She cleared her throat and replied, "W– wait for me a moment, I'll take a quick bath! I promise it won't take too long!"

As quick as the fire burning, Halora jumped off from the bed, went straight to the closet, and grabbed the towel inside of it.

Secretly, it made him smile and giggle. Despite what happened, he remained loyal and true to Halora. He will always be the man who never forgot the real meaning of friendship.

"What a jolly girl!" He mumbled before he walked into the mini kitchen found inside of their room. Only VIP guests have the privilege to enjoy and experience a house-like hotel room.

In the kitchen, there was a white small fridge, cabinets, faucet, and sink. It was enough for couples who wanted to make their own recipes.

But while Halora took a quick bath, Roy started with the recipes he readied last night. He then opened the mini-fridge, get all the potatoes, bacon, eggs, and vegetables out of it.

"Boil the water first then put the potatoes. Wait for five minutes and take it off from the casserole dish." He read the instructions on how to smash potatoes with a twist.

It was his first time but he found it easy and satisfying. After the potatoes, he chopped all the green, fresh leafy vegetables then put them into the white bowl. Sprinkled it with onions and other condiments.

As he has almost done with everything, Halora appeared, wiping her hair with the towel. "Hey, what should I do now? It looked like I'm watching over a professional culinarian."

She teased him until he laughed loudly as he put the bread into the oven. "Just take a seat and wait for a couple of minutes."

He glanced up at her, "Instead of helping me, why don't you change your clothes now and please, don't you ever forget to comb and put something in your hair. I... I mean, fix your hair just for this tour, and you will see how beautiful you are, Halora."

The way he talked to her was barely different from how he treated other girls and his exes. Roy was known for being the campus heartbreaker because he rejected hundred of girls since the day he transferred into his new school– La Milanosa Academy.

At that moment, Halora rolled her eyes on him. She looked offended but she hid how she truly felt that moment. Her face was garnished with gloom, dismay, and ugly truth.

Thus, rather than being into the dark world of truth, Halora smiled over her shoulders. It was the only key to hide the doubts and insecurities she felt in her entire life.

"Hurry up and we will eat right away when you're done."

Halora put her hand on her forehead, saluted to him, and replied, "Aye, Master Roy! I'll be right back!"

Confidently, she turned around on him. Clasped her hands and thought about how to fix her frizzy long hair. Just like what Seb told him last time, it smelled like rotten, lousy jack fruit.

Halora took a long sigh, closed her eyes, and reminisced the way her mother used to fix her hair. "Huh, I can do it." She whispered to the wind before she stepped into the huge mirror.

After a couple of minutes, Roy smiled, smelled the vegetables salad, and mashed potatoes he made. He readied plates for the two of them, glasses of water, and table napkins.

"It's time to eat! Come here now, Halora!" His voice sounded off around the room, making it lively and vibrant.

However, Halora didn't respond to him. His brow furrowed, covered the food for a while as he went to fetch her.

"Halora?"

"Are you still there?" No one answered that bothered him the most.

Worried and uncomfortable, he quickly ran to the area where Halora fixed her hair. He paused, breathed some air until his eyes widened, his eyebrows narrowed.

And once again, he felt butterflies inside of his stomach like girls do. "W– wow! You lo– look like a goddess with eyeglasses!" He told Halora who tucked away few strands of her hair.
