Chapter 118 - 118: I Love Him

Roy looked behind through the side mirror as he realized that the red Camaro that chased them earlier was bumped into the trees around the road.

Thick, black smoke drifted by the cold breeze as the night was too dark and vague.

He shook his in terror. He never thought that Sebastian was a professional fighter than he thought about him.

"Huh, we are all safe now," he said, looked at the girl's reflection who slowly lifted their heads.

"What happened?" said Sandra while she caressed her head that was banged up to the window. But fortunately, nothing severe happened to do her head and to Halora.

She said, "A– are we safe now?"

"Yes, you don't have to worry now."

The car was filled with silence as Halora felt something that was missing. She sighed, arched her back, and tried to reach for her eyeglasses that fell into the floor earlier when Sebastian turned the car.

Secretly, Roy noticed that she struggled too much. Her vision was not clear and without her eyes glasses, she wouldn't see things.

By then, after he made a u-turn, the road straight to the city, he parked the car at the safest place, swallowed greedily like a thirsty blood-sucking vampire.

But, Sandra rolled her eyes at him. "Why did you suddenly stopped?"

However, without anyone's validation, he breathed deeply, went out of the driver's seat, and opened the window where Halora was seating.

"Y– you don't have to do that, Roy! I... I can find it by myself!"

"Wait," said Roy who found the eyeglasses without too much struggle. "Here." He gave it to her after he wiped the lens by the egde of his shirt.

Halora felt sorry for herself for having a poor eyesight condition. Since birth, she had been diagnosed with a common eye ailment.

"T– thank you," she said but she noticed that Sebastian has gone. "B– but, where did Sebastian go? Is he hurt?"

At that moment, Roy felt embarrassed by her questions. He stood in front of her yet, she still looked for someone else.

He smiled, closed the window and ran back to the driver's seat. "He's safe, don't worry too much about him."

"Next time, be sensitive enough. Feel someone's feeling before you hurt them." Sandra crossed her arms, uttered those words that traveled deeply to Halora's heart.

But Roy looked at her angrily that made her stop. Sandra knew that he feel something towards Halora but he was still on a denial stage.

She knew, at the end of the day, he won't let the person he loved walk away just like what she did at the same moment.

Right then on, Roy drove the car slowly, looked and read the street signs that was hung along the road.

No one dared to speak as all of them were tired and exhausted. Sandra crossed her legs, yawned for a second and her eyes looked too heavy.

On the other side, Halora took out the phone from his black bag when she remembered what Sebastian told her earlier.

"Should I call him now?" she thought.

Her hands was cold because of the fear she felt earlier. She never understood why they were chased by strangers but there was only one thing she was certain of.

"They chase us for a girl. But..."

"Halora?"

"Hmm?" she replied shortly.

Roy noticed that Sandra fell asleep quickly. He sighed, moved his sideways before he crossed the street.

He said, "Are you hurt?"

It was an unexpected question but she kept what she truly felt.

Halora chuckled, waved her hands as she said no and she was completely fine. "Why did you ask me that question? Of course, I am not and you know that nothing happened to all of us."

Yet, Roy remained calm and acted like he knew nothing. Without a blink of an eye, he looked at her reflection, "Are you worried about him?"

"Yes!" she quickly said until she realized what she had said. "I... I mean, yes, b– because..."

She can't tell what it was. The words she wanted to release has began and felt like her tongue was twisted up that betrayed her in the end.

Halora surrendered.

There was no room for hiding her emotions from her best friend. And she thought, it was the perfect moment to confess as Sandra won't hear anything.

"C– can I borrow your phone and h– headphone?"

Embarrassingly, she swallowed her pride when she asked him a favor after some quite of time. And confusingly, Roy gave her everything she needed but didn't ask her any question.

"I'm sorry, Sandra. But I have to cover your ear so that you wont her our conversation."

Gently, as careful as it needed, she put the white headphone to her ears, connected it to the phone and played random music.

She increased the volume to the maximum, took a deep breath when she succeeded.

"Huh, I've been trying my very best at least, to keep it by myself alone, but now that I have the courage to tell something to you, I hope you won't tell anyone about it."

"Don't worry, if you're not, you can stop right now and take some rest. It's a long, long ride, Halora."

But the truth was, he never wanted to hear the truth from her. He never wished to listen to the confession of the girl he liked since then.

However, it seemed like he has no other option but to be her great, loyal listener. He was her best friend through storms 'til death.

"N– no! I am n–not tired at all! I just want to let out this feeling before it ruins my entire system when it explodes! I trust in you and I know, you won't stab me from behind!"

Halora closed her fists eagerly. She closed her eyes, embraced herself tightly.

"Cut the chase, Halora. I can't read what's in your mind." he said as he regretted right away.

As he waited for the truth, for her confession, his heart filled with a heavy weight that he could only understand. His knees became weak, his heart began to ache until Halora opened her mouth.

For a second, she looked intently into his eyes. "I love him, Roy. I love the campus bad boy without knowing it until now!" she confessed.

And finally, his biggest fear came true.
