Chapter 144 - 144: A Precious Present

Daniel burst into laughter, kicked off the rug when he couldn't accept what Sebastian did to him.

He gritted his teeth, rubbed the back of his head in disbelief. "Fuck! Look at that jerk! He even dared me to punch him but he quickly ran away because of that urgent call!"

"J– just let him, for now. After all, I trust him and he will never choose her over us." Andy said seriously.

The rest of them took a long sigh in relief after Sebastian left the hotel without telling them the reason behind. Dylan and Grey looked at each other as they both smelled something fishy between the other members.

But, on the other side, Sebastian rushed to somewhere after he answered the call in the middle of arm argument. He wasn't sure what to buy as a present so he stopped the car, called his mom quickly.

He said, "Mom, what is the perfect gift for someone's birthday?"

"I know you will choose that makes her happy. It doesn't matter if it's expensive or not, but as long as you give it from the bottom of your heart. You can do it, son. I know you can." Sarah said as she ended up the call with a sweet smile on her lips.

"Mother is right! I don't have to buy her something that will fade away after a couple of days." he murmured and came up with a better gift for Halora.

He smiled, held the steering wheel and drove too fast to her house.

All out of the sudden, a negative feeling vanished since the moment Roy told him about Halora's birthday. It surprised him as he didn't have a chance to ask her when was her birthday.

He sighed, caressed his temple while his right arm controlled the steering wheel and his eyes stuck on the road as he made sure that he won't cause any trouble.

However, Sebastian hit the dashboard when he noticed that there was a heavy traffic on the road. He rubbed his head in anger, pulled over as he thought he could at least pass through smoothly into other way but he ended up dismayed.

"Goddamn it! Why is it happening all of the sudden? On her birthday!"

Sebastian almost pulled his hair as he stuck on the traffic. He tried to escape, and from it but it seemed like he has to do something before it was too late.

He uttered profanity, bowed his head for a couple of seconds until he noticed the time. It was quarter to six and any moment from now, their studying session will start.

"That's a great idea! But I haven't done this to anyone." he said, unfastened the seatbelt and opened the door coldly.

He went out like a cool celebrity as his stance looked perfectly fine. Every girl who saw him on the road effortlessly took pictures of him from a distance. But, he ignored all of them as he was in a hurry.

Along the way, he almost dumped on the passengers who walked on the sidewalk instead of waiting their time being trapped.

He didn't even say sorry to them as he continued running without any break in between.

Sweat fell down into the ground, his feet became swollen as well as his weak knees. But despite all of sacrifices, in the end of the day, it would be worth it.

"The main door must be locked! I have to call her first !"

Excitement and eagerness flaunted on his face when she finally answered the call. Sebastian ran into the main door, waited for Halora who was about to lit the candles, make a wish and blow all of it.

"W– what brought you here, Sebastian? I told you that I can't make it tonight, right?"

"Where?"

"In the storage room."

Halora opened the main door as she has no choice but to let him in. She wanted it to be an ordinary day but it seemed like someone leaked out sole information about her.

She sighed, led the way inside as she was certain that she hid the cake in the fridge. And it would be hard for him to confirm it without a reliable proof.

"I didn't know that you forgot what I've said earlier–"

"Halora!"

Out of the blue, even how hard she tried to hide things from him, there was no way of knowing all of those secrets. He stared at her for a long moment, as if he missed the girl stood in front of him.

He snatched her arms, held them tightly as he was afraid to let go. But Halora looked away from other direction and avoided to be hypnotized by his charm again.

"I didn't forget it, but you are the one who forgot something. How ironic, isn't?" He raised his eyebrows, held his breath back while he cupped her face.

"W– what are you doing? Why are you g– getting c– cl– closer to me?"

He didn't answered, instead, he stepped closer while Halora moved backward until she was being caught and cornere like a fugitive who committed thousands of crimes.

His left hand trailed off to her waist, smelled the scent of her hair as he slowly moved his head into her neck.

He chuckled, tightened the grip on her waist and he replied, "Stop pretending, Halora! I know you're celebrating your birthday before I came."

Her eyes widened in disbelief. As far as she remembered, she told no one about it except for Roy who knew everything.

She closed her eyes, gulped countless times in front of him as she was afraid to utter a word.

"I didn't mean to startle you, Halora, but, I just want you to give something for you."

"F– for me?"

He nodded coldly until he pulled her waist closer to his chest and gave her a tight, warm embrace that every girl dreamed of.

It surprised her to death, lit the fire on chest and triggered the butterflies on her stomach to be more alive and real.

Sebastian leaned his head on his shoulder, "Take myself... as my gift for your birthday." he whispered that fluttered her heart the most and offered himself as a precious present.
