Chapter 206 - 206: The Past Life And Truth

Tic! Tac! Tic! Tac!

Tic! Tac! Tic! Tac!

An addicting sound of the clock kept her wide awake yet tired. Everytime she closed her eyes, laid back to the mattress she put to the floor, the clock distracted her.

It almost drove her insane but Halora opened her eyes and glanced up at the ceiling.

It was three in the morning and she could hear loud noises that came from the forest.

"Why I can't go to sleep?" she caressed her temple desperately. "It's three in the morning yet, here I am, watching her."

She laid her eyes on the drunk girl who slept like a toddler. Sandra moved to different directions every single moment and it was difficult for Halora to sleep beside her.

Heavily, she sighed covered her face with her bare hand while things flashed back to her mind.

The terrifying vision, the witches, the powerful ring, her past life and identity and Sebastian's biggest secret. "Huh, I dont know what to do anymore! I never knew loving someone this way would prevail the truth that was buried many years ago."

Halora smiled shortly, stretched her arms and reached for the thin cream blanket. Her brown eyes looked different, and too heavy to carry.

But her heart filled with both sadness and happiness. And there was one thing that bothered her; the rumors about the feud between the werewolves and witches and Mrs Lee's selfish favor.

"I wonder if the rumors were true…," she paused, bit the bottom of her lips for a second. "If a werewolf falls in love with a pure blood witch, one of them will be dead because of the witch's curse?"

While she can't sleep, Halora stood up and took the old box made up of wood that left of her late parents. She then walked downstairs, held it nervously because she had never touched it even once before.

Perhaps, after how many years, it was the perfect time to know the truth and she had found enough courage to face the truth- about her past life and parents' identity.

Anxiously, she placed the old box into the glass table. She seated, held her breath for a second and released the fear in her heart.

"Whatever happens, I'll keep my promises to him."

Right then, she slowly opened the box as the cold wind blew up. The curtains swayed; the moon shone too brightly that gave light to the living area.

She sighed, set aside the box when she suddenly felt thirsty and hungry. She caressed her stomach, walked like a zombie until she reached the kitchen and poured a cold water into an empty glass.

Gently, she closed the refrigerator, went into the cupboard and took some banana chips she just bought last week. "I've been craving this one lately."

Suddenly, a bitter, short smile flaunted on her face when she remembered those times with Sebastian. The way he cooked, the way he stood and spoke with her; it completely made her deeply in love with him.

As she walked back to the living area, she felt a tingling feeling inside of her system. Sometimes it gave her goosebumps and flattered her heart without a doubt.

"I hope he's doing well right now. I… I didnt have the chance to ask him earlier but, I won't either jump into conclusion."

An ordinary sound echoed around the house but she ignored it. The right time has now come, even she tried to escape and deny the certainty, it would always prevail on its own unique way.

At that moment, Halora turned her head and looked what inside of it. She gulped, saw an old book with a strange cover.

Aside from the book, there was a white cloth that seemed like a small ball and it was quite interesting. It had caught her interest as she took it out, moved aside the glass of cold water and slowly opened it.

"It's time to open my eyes." she whispered to the wind.

And the moment she saw what inside of the white cloth, Halora was left speechless and shocked.

She exclaimed, "A… A ring!"

It looked the same of the ring that she found at Sebastian's house. Hurriedly, she looked for more until she noticed a piece of paper under the mysterious ring.

Halora felt nervous and with excitement, she took the paper without a blink of an eye. "To my dearest daughter…," the letter began.

"Your father and I agreed to write this letter before we vanish from this cruel world. If you are wondering why we hid the truth from you is only because we thought that there would a place for us. Away from the judgments and competition but my younger sister- Damara wanted to end your life because of envy."

Her eyes widened and a painful feeling was awakened as she read the letter silently. It made her emotional but she had to move on and read everything written.

"Many years ago, I was crowned as the Queen's successor- your grandmother. And when she passed away, I seated on the throne and ruled the witches like how mother taught me. But things happened too fast, Damara gathered a lot of evil witches, made a plan and behind back, she betrayed and took away the throne."

"D- Damara is my A- aunt?"

Unbelievably, tears shone on her eyes but she controlled it and remained calm. Before she resumed, she took the water and drank some of it that eased the pain she felt.

"For some years, we chose the life as a human. One day, few of good witches rushed into our house. They told me about Damara's evil actions and almost took away other lives. On that day, I had no choice but to stand on my own feet and stop Damara before she ruined and hurt even the innocent humans. I know, there's no guarantee but I am willing to take the risk even it will lead me to death."

As she read the letter, teardrops fell on it. It completely tore her heart apart but she needed to gather more information about the past.

"I think I need some more of water!" Halora murmured and left the letter on the table.

A heavy weight and anger remained in her heart when she found out that Damara was her mother's younger sister. She shook her head in despair but now, she had to know everything more than anything else.

Halora poured some water to the empty glass. She couldn't either believe that it was all happening since Damara showed up because of the mysterious ring.

For a moment, she caressed her chin and looked at the glass window. There was still one thing that bothered her but she couldn't tell it exactly.

But now that she discovered her family's dark, tragic past life, she would try her best to fight against the evil creatures that was trying to invade the whole world and spread cruelty.

"I won't let your sacrifices will be in vain, mom and dad. I will end Damara's malevolent plans no matter what and if loving a werewolf is a sin, then I would rather put my life at stake and find the antidote against the curse."

Eagerness drawn on her face as she drank a lot of water. Her speculations had finally proven but it would create a dramatic battle.

As she breathed deeply, Halora found the place where she should belong to. For how many years of questioning it, now she knew her roots.

Despite her weak knees and vulnerable heart, she stood straight, put the glass into the sink and went back to where she left earlier.

She gulped, squeezed hardly her wet and cold palms, "I should have drunk a lot of milk if I ever knew that I can't sleep tonight." spoke Halora regretfully.

As she crossed her arms and embraced herself, she arched her back, picked the letter and leaned back with a deep breath. The letter was quite full of life as it carried the truths and future.

"One more thing, the ring that I kept with the letter is made up of darkness and pure immorality. And you should keep it away from Damara or else, it would be the end of the world. If she possessed the ring of darkness and the ring of lightness, all creatures including the werewolves will all be vanished by a snap of her fingers."

"And I know if I failed to make it, there's you, Halora. I know when you read this letter, you will have me in your heart. The courage, the power of kindness and one last thing, the power of true love."

"H- how… would I do that all by myself? H- how would I save the world and the man that I love?"

Her voice suddenly changed as she looked at somewhere distant. She felt afraid, weak that she might fail to succeed and it would only bring shame to her family who had sacrificed their lives against the enemies.

And before the sunrise showed up above the sky, Halora set aside the letter and checked the old book until she realized that it wasnt just an ordinary one. It was the book of truth- the prophecy.
