Halora has no option but to wait until next week. There was one book she must read before the ancient book about spells and potions.
Fortunately, as they were about to leave the school library, the bell rang so loudly as they looked at each other's eyes.
Jasmine smirked mischievously and she said, "That's what we called… timing."
She bumped her fist with Halora who smiled over her shoulders after she put back the book to the shelf.
"Let's go!" Halora nodded her head.
Right then, both of them rushed back to their classroom. Along the hallway, most students did the same thing as they tried to reach their destination on time.
It wasn't obvious at all but when they stepped right into the floor of their classroom, Roy gave them a signal.
But they didn't understand what it was until Halora nudged Jasmine's elbow when she noticed someone who stared at them.
"Ms. Yu and Ms. Chui, remain standing on the back. Since the two of you are late, why don't you introduce yourselves first."
Everyone giggled silently but the new teacher suddenly yelled at the top of her lungs.
"SILENCE!"
"I don't want to hear students murmuring during my class. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Mrs. Dira!"
Jasmine and Halora widened their eyes for a second. It does only mean that she was their new teacher in values education.
Jasmine opened her mouth and murmured without a sound, "Oh my gosh! She's a terror according to some students!"
Despite Mrs. Dira's strict composure, she didn't listen until an eraser hit her head.
"I said, stand straight and never talk to anybody in this room! Did I make myself clear, Ms. Yu?"
Embarrassingly, she slightly shook her even it was against her will. Jasmine looked down on her feet and swore to the heaven that she must get even no matter what.
Secretly, she closed her fists while Mrs. Dira walked into the center aisle slowly.
"As your new teacher in Values Education, let me know your names first. Let us start with… you."
Halora gulped countless times when she met Mrs. Dira's deep, cold gaze. It weakened her knees but she has no choice at all.
"G- good morning, everyone! I… I am Halora Chui." she said and no one made a sound except Mrs. Dira.
She sighed, widened her eyes for a moment until she realized that she was the daughter of her late ex-boyfriend.
"Hmm, your surname is quite familiar. Do you know Eric Chui by any chance?"
Out of the blue, Halora was caught off guard by her sudden question. Since her parents died a long time ago, she never spoke about their name to other people.
And it was odd that she knew her father's name. "P- pardon, Ma'am?"
"Are you related to Eric Chui, aren't you?"
For the second time, Halora breathed heavily. She closed her eyes and she replied in a hollow voice, "He's my father… but he's gone when I was still young."
The unforgettable past hunted her until in the present. She couldn't believe that someone brought her back to the same feeling she was in for a long time.
Halora took a sigh, slowly opened her eyes and was terrified when she saw that Mrs. Dira was looking into her face.
She replied calmly, "I see, that's a tragic story."
"Anyway, let us move on to you, young lady with two ugly, invisible horns."
Jasmine lifted her head and fearlessly looked at each other's eyes. She gasped, blew a few strands of her hair that went into her face.
She said, "Jasmine Yu, a loner but not a weakling, pitiful young woman! In other words, no one shall step into my dignity."
Most of her classmates was amazed by her bravery but there was always an exception. Mrs. Dira rolled her on her.
But Jasmine looked intently into her hazel eyes with coldness. She lived in vain for so long and it was the right time to stand on her feet.
"Don't make nasty mistakes, Ms. Yu. I am watching you from a far."
It was a frightening reminder but as a cool, brave high school girl, Jasmine rolled her eyes, smirked and she replied sarcastically but in a calm tone.
"It would be my pleasure, Ma'am."
She was completely a wise student who knew when to fight for herself. Her beliefs and principles helped her to know her strength and weaknesses.
At that moment, Mrs. Dira was left dumbfounded when she met Jasmine. She was one of those students who always ruined her day.
And as a pattern, during her first day in a school, she would end up being annoyed. "She's the first one in line." she thought.
Until she walked closer to Sandra's seat with a wide smile on her lips. "How about you, gorgeous young lady. You must be Mrs. Lee's daughter, am I right?"
Sandra stood straight, bowed and shook her head in agreement. "Sandra Lee, and welcome to your new home, Mrs. Dira."
She spoke with elegance and kindness but some of her classmates thought that it was just part of her plans.
"Such a sweet girl! And I am glad to be here in this school too. A big thanks to your mother who believed in me and trusted my abilities."
"You are most welcome, Ma'am." Sandra murmured as she seated back.
Mrs. Dira turned her head and looked throughout the entire room. She was looking for a man, until she saw Roy.
She smiled, bit the bottom of her lip and said, "How about you, what is your name?"
Roy stood quickly as he never looked into her way. He found it intimidating and annoying a little bit too.
He sighed, licked his lips and he said, "Roy Adrian, karate and basketball varsity player."
Coldness drawn on her face as he hated such negative energy. He closed his eyes in annoyance, crossed his arms and didn't move.
However, as Mrs. Dira was about to call for a volunteer, some of the students looked into the door's way and saw the campus bad boy.
He was walking towards the classroom that caught her attention too.
She said, "What is going on? Why are you looking outside while I am here inside? Answer me!"
Her voice echoed around the room but Sandra, Jasmine, Roy looked away and ignored her.
But no one answered, instead, they lifted their hands and pointed the campus bad boy who threw deep, cold stares at her.
"I must teach him good discipline as well!" she murmured.
Little did she knew; he was the only son of one of the wealthiest family in the country. Unknowingly, she quickly walked closer to the door, put her hands on her waist with her head held high.
She said, "And what are you doing in here during my class? Are you not aware that I have a class going on?"
Sebastian never been intimidated with anyone's presence and charisma. He knew what she did and when he caught a glimpse of Halora who was standing straight made his heart weak and vulnerable.
Suddenly, he walked inside that shocked everyone in the room. Halora widened her eyes when she saw everything and it was an insolence to the teacher.
"Sebastian!" she frighteningly uttered his name that would always flutter her heart.
"How dare you disrespect a teacher in front of you? Can't you see, I am here!"
Anger like a dragon that was about to breath a burning fire, Mrs. Dira put her hands on her waist and waited for Sebastian's response.
But she was provoked to her limits when she saw how he held Halora's hands tightly.
"What are you doing? W- why are you holding Ms. Chui hands?"
Halora held her breath when they were caught together. She looked into his cold, bluish eyes and waited for his answer.
He gasped, stood beside her and he said, "Executive order 1198 of La Milanosa Academy, no teacher shall give punishment to students who were late one to three times."
"Executive order 1200, teachers who violated the law must be punished accordingly."
Sebastian stated the law in front of everyone fluently. He looked like an Attorney who defended the defendant that was only accused.
"H- how d- did you know about that?" Mrs. Dira nervously asked him.
But it was too late now. "I know everything in this school secretly and I must pretend like a dull student and observe teachers like you."
Halora looked at his face for a moment as she couldn't believe it. Sebastian hid his real abilities and acted like a slow learner.
That moment, she realized everything about his strange actions. But she remembered his low scores in Mathematics and English subjects since last year's examination.
"I will give you one last chance, Mrs. Dira. Once you treat Halora this way, I have no choice but to take an immediate action."
His presence and charisma convinced her as she shook her head quickly. He seemed like a knight shining in armor who came on the right time and saved his beloved lover.
Mrs. Dira gulped countless times when she saw something in his eyes. She wasn't sure what it was, but it was a fatal energy that lived within him.
Right then, Sebastian pulled Halora's hand. "Excused us for a moment." he said as Mrs.. Dira quickly said yes and let him take Halora for a couple of minutes.
